I pick him up to bring him to see a doctor and yes he had a very bad infection and also Ammonia in the lungs. He went in to detox here, and they completely Ignored the fact that he needed antibiotics. These people don't care and they treat you horrible. Do you job!!!

I completely understood the reason for the search of my belongings and my person. I understood why I was not allowed to bring shampoo or liquid hair product onto the unit. I'm still not sure why they took my deodorant and makeup, but, whatever. What followed was a cascade of negatives. I didn't suffer too much from withdrawal, just a little bit of tremor. The lithium they gave me allowed me to sleep well. One of the counselors took me aside as he did everyone, and gave me a three page list of "thou shalt nots." Fair enough. There are no tvs in the semi private rooms. No pictures on the walls. The mattress on the bed was about 4" deep. The food was horrendous. Who eats canned vegetables any more? The groups that they ran were, sadly, a takeoff of AA meetings. I can get that crap free anywhere. There was no real one-on-one counseling. And the staff's overall attitude was one of thinly veiled disparagement. I think I would have been okay with the place but for that attitude. Yesterday moening, on hearing that there was a Christmas tree in the lobby, I snuck downstairs for a peek. The charge nurse asked me where I had gone. I told her. At no point was I alone. She said, "You know, I should strip search you for leaving the ward." That was it. Wow. Of all the ways she could have addressed me, she chose a little bitch-on-a-power-trip statement. After about 48 hours of being treated like a felon, I decided I had had enough and resolved to leave. You should have been there to witness the way the staff acted toward me then. Vindictive. The charge nurse said, "You can't leave until you've spoken with the doctor." I told her, "I'm not here on a paper; I am here voluntarily, and I am leaving. Please give me my stuff." They gave me my stuff. (Except, when I got home, my klonopin was missing. One is the asshole staff actually stole my klonopin). I took my belongings and went to wait for my ride in the downstairs waiting area. One of the the male staff told me, pretty harshly, to get out and wait in the lobby. I went to the lobby. Then another of the staff told me I had to leave the premises. Now, the hospital is in a very bad section of Worcester. I am 56 years old, short, and wear glasses. I am a target, if someone is looking for one. It is November 30th, and cold out. It was drizzling. My cellphone was dead. I ended up hiding on a doorstep in an alleyway next door for two hours until my friend was able to get there. there. F*** you, Adcare. I suffer from an illness. Would you treat a cancer patient that way if she wanted to go home early? Someone with an infection or other visible physical ailment? Your obvious collective contempt for your clientele reveals your underlying belief that we are somehow bad, and need to be controlled, or punished for failing to be "normal." May I remind you here that alcoholism is a serious, tenacious, and often fatal DISEASE? Your Nurse Ratchet act showed me your true motivation (money) and revealed your scorn for those you treat.

They finally moved me to their next door mental health unit only to arrive and have 3 different roommates, one of which arrived around 2am and proceeded to snore and talk in their sleep, LOUDLY. Upon contacting The Haven, my husband called and was told they WERE in-network with our insurance and when I asked to leave early, I was told insurance would pay nothing due to my leaving AMA(Against Medical Advice) so I stayed. Then, received a bill totally over $100k, with over $6k/night!! I highly DO NOT recommend this racket of a facility. Trust me, save yourself the time, money, and GRIEF that'll end up exacerbating your already acquired mental health struggles. DON'T DO IT TO YOURSELF!

Deceptive in so many ways. Let's start with "you have 15 minutes with your phone a day" to when you…read morecheck in, you have all calls supervised by your therapist on speakerphone, and if the person you calls doesn't pick up, then you don't get to call them again. Then let's move towards the therapy itself - which is group therapy all day and no psychiatrist or psychologist on staff. If you want an Aleve for your period, they won't give you that at all. If they push genetic testing on you, advertise it heavily as one of their main aspects of the center, say it will be $330, and then charge you afterwards for $5,500 - then you have done deceptive billing practices! Let's move onto "vegan" friendly diet. No offerings here. Avoid. Lastly, they put you under the assumption that they have novelty offerings like EDMR and reiki. Nope. Not at all. None of that is available. It's 6 hours of group therapy a day - that's it. Once a week you meet with your therapist and it's not even an hour - it's for 15 minutes. If you express dissatisfaction of their center and want to leave their VOLUNTARY resident, they threaten you with AMA (against medical advice), give no reasons as to why or how, and then refuse to help with aftercare planning. Actually, they tell you your aftercare is covered by insurance only for it not to be. This place is running a sophisticated scam on people.
