After searching on Yelp for the most aesthetic laundromat in New Orleans, Holy Sheets came up as #1...and once I saw the photos, I already knew this was the one. The floors alone sold me! I also had an oversized blanket to wash, so I figured I could kill two birds with one stone. When I arrived, I sat and waited for my photographer, then went to ask a staff member a question about starting my wash. That's when she let me know photos weren't allowed, but she offered to check with the owner. A few minutes later, he arrived (I hate that I can't remember his name), greeted customers, and then came over to speak with me. I explained it was for my birthday shoot, and he kindly let me know it was a busy time and he didn't want to make other customers uncomfortable, but he offered to schedule another time for us to come back. Very respectful and professional. Of course, with a scheduled shoot, we couldn't really pivot like that, so I thanked him and started making other plans. BUT then...he came back and said we could go ahead and take pictures, just to be mindful of customers and stay on one side. That meant so much! Even though people naturally started moving into that area (lol), we made it work, and he was super accommodating the entire time. I really appreciated that level of kindness and flexibility. Now let's talk about the space, this laundromat is BEAUTIFUL, if laundromats can be beautiful lol. Clean, bright, and very well-maintained. The floors? Stunning. The machines were all in working order, plenty of baskets available, and I love that they offer full-service wash and fold options too. What stood out the most was the customer service. They also called to make sure I was using a container that would keep everything together for the sake of their drivers which I thought was sweet. They sent someone to pick the order up from my house, washed everything, folded it, and got it back to me even quicker than my usual service! It was a little more than I was expecting but admittedly that's my fault because I didn't check to see how much I put in the hamper. Plus when they sent me my clothes back not a thing was missing and they sent along a little toy! It's a small golden egg with a disco ball and a little poem about laundry inside which I thought was really cute. My kitten loved the egg and has been whacking it around the house since. However they don't tell you it's a 10 lb minimum charge even if the clothes aren't 10 lbs. They also charge you around $5 per load for water. Which brings the total to around $2.00/lb. Why not just charge $2/lb? OR have it posted in writing in the facility OR make sure the attendants communicate the service charges when customers inquire about the prices? I've used this service on and off since 2013. When I was still living in an apt and didn't have my washer/dryer connections yet and just recently when my washing machine bit the dust at my house. I was informed that the washateria was under new ownership because previous trips did not have all the extra service charges.
