My little yorkie, Tiffany went to Washington Heights for over 10 years until she passed away in May. I trusted the vets at Washington Heights with all of her medical care over the years including annual checkups, teeth extractions, etc. I want to especially thank Dr. Hipke who helped me navigate the last weeks of Tiffany's life. Knowing that Tiffany was my first dog, Dr. Hipke made sure to check on us during those rough last few weeks. I really appreciated that especially since this was my first experience with a 15 year old dog with a severe kidney infection. I also didn't know what to expect regarding the euthanasia process but it was done in a private room with direct access to the parking lot so I didn't have to walk through the waiting area afterward. It was a very peaceful process. If I ever decide to have a pet again, I'm sure I would come back to Washington Heights for veterinary care.

I have always loved taking my pet kids to the vets at WHVC. I have trusted their care and concern for my kids. Now I'm in shock. I realized this morning after trying for 2 weeks to get a prescription refilled that they were holding my kids lifesaving medication hostage because I hadn't brought him in DURING A PANDEMIC for routine care. Mind you, I am also struggling with another one of my kids nasal cancer. The advice I got for my kid with nasal cancer was to see a specialist. I booked him at the earliest possible appt at GCVS. Then Houston froze, and his appointment was canceled by the clinic. I rebooked. My kids nose hasn't stopped bleeding for 4 days. He can't breathe through his nose and chokes and gags when he eats or drinks. Doesn't want to go outside. So this morning I am asking why do they want him to see a specialist for an inoperable terminal cancer? He is suffering. He shouldn't have to endure this. My cat shouldn't have to not have his insulin because I didn't take him for his annual. They didn't even let me know this was the reason his prescription wasn't being refilled. I'm so disappointed. I followed these vets from sunset animal clinic when they opened this practice. I have never regretted that decision until today. Heartbroken.

Just waiting to see Dr. Pilgrim!

This vet is great! You are greeted with a smile and a doggie treat! Dr. pilgrim is so kind and really cares about your pet. she takes time to explain everything and she even goes over the price so your not shocked at the end of the visit. They are very nurturing to my dog and I (and my baby) don't get nervous when they have to bring her back for weighting and things. The only reason it's 4 stars and not 5 is the price! Yikes! They wanted to charge me $650 to remove a baby tooth that hadn't fallen out. I love my dog more then life but come on. We went to a small town vet and they did it for $50.

    Dog , best friend

I brought my 4 year old dog Gelato in for a check up ; he ran to the truck that day jumped in and put his head out the window in my way to the clinic. We went in , I was 30 min late so they asked me if I could just leave him and come back and pick him up ? Then around 6 pm I realized they hadn't called me and they close around that time. I called the vet to say I was on my way , when they informed me after the fact (not when it happened) but that he might not make it , I said he was just there for a check up (they said he had an "anxiety attack" and couldn't breath ... I don't believe this is all that led to him in the condition I found him when I got there. They had him on oxygen and said they close and I would have to take him to the emergency where he died . Don't leave your pets at this place , because they might not make it back home with you ... I miss my dog (companion) so much .. he was perfectly fine until I left him there for a simple check up .. he was my best friend .. I wish I would of just took him home and re booked .. but now he's gone. & they still have the nerve to call me for payment for the check up that day . Thanks for reminding me great work .

The thoughtful nature of the space itself and the incredible staff really set this place apart. They are professional and kind, and all seem to truly care about the dogs and their humans! Additionally, Ozzie has severe food allergy so it has been wonderful being able to trust that the staff at Best Little Dog House will take care of him well and ensure that he doesn't come into contact with anything he shouldn't while he's there. The cage free nature of the boarding setup in particular is welcome as he is not used to sleeping in a kennel and prefers being cuddled up in a blanket with a trusted human nearby. It's such a relief to know that when he is at Best Little Dog House he is having a great time and being well treated. He loses his mind with excitement when we tell him he is getting to "go play!" and always eagerly runs to the front door when he gets out of the car! If you are looking for a small dog focused daycare and boarding facility in the Montrose area, look no further than Best Little Dog House!

Judge for yourself if the injuries are scratches or bite marks and if a dog is physically able to scratch itself on the inside of its ear. They are very clearly puncture wounds to us and our vet. --------------------------------------- Dropped off our blind dog 11.24.2025 at roughly 3pm. The morning of 11.28.2025 we received a message that his ear had been bleeding and they believed it was from scratching so they provided him with the expected medical care. Afternoon of 11.29.2025 they told us he was "shaking". My wife was able to pick him up early and take him to the emergency vet (Saturday evening and regular vet closed) who shaved and treated the area and gave him antibiotics. We did follow-up with our regular vet and they determined that the injuries were puncture wounds from a dog attack. When we told them Fur Paws said the injuries were from him scratching himself they looked at us like we had just told them 1 + 1 = 3. In spite of the records we provided from the vet showing his treatment history and their diagnosis of "dog bite wounds and vestibular disease" Fur Paws claims he arrived there with some condition that led to him scratching himself (on the inside of his ear too!). He arrived 11.24, they noticed wounds 11.28, and by the afternoon of 11.29 he was shaking so he had a fever. It takes 24-72 hours for infection and then a fever to occur so one can do the math on their claim that he arrived with an ailment already. Then you add in that these are clearly not scratch marks and you see that they're questioning our intelligence with their explanation. Send your dog here at your own risk.

He said he spoke to the staff but nothing out of the ordinary occurred that anyone could recall. I just now bent down to put on his leash and he flinched when I got near him. It breaks my heart that he's now acting this way. He is 11 years old and has never behaved this way. I just took him to the vet to get him examined and try to find out why he is acting this way. This dog never whines or is vocal. Please supervise your employees closely and make sure they are treating all of our animals with proper care. He absolutely hates getting wet and doesn't like anyone getting near his paws. Because of his absolute hatred for getting groomed, we only take him twice a year to Wag'n World. Skyler did a fantastic job during our husky's most recent visit AND he was able to trim our dog's nails! We couldn't stop staring at our dog afterwards and was in complete shock that Skyler was able to trim his nails. The service took approximately 3 hours (bath, deshed, teeth brush and nail trim). Although there are plenty of other closer grooming salons near our home, we don't hesitate to drive a little further to take our dog to see Skyler!

I boarded my Golden Retriever, Bailee, at Wag'n World from Thursday evening through Monday evening…read more I packed all of her food, as I always do, with detailed instructions. In her morning packages of dry food topper, I also include her allergy medication. I have done this every time she has been boarded, and I have always trusted Wag'n World with my Bailee Girl without ever feeling the need to worry that something would go wrong. Unfortunately, this time it did. When I picked Bailee up Monday evening and got her home in time for dinner, I was surprised to discover that she had not received her dry food topper nor her medication. The packets were still sitting in her food bag. They had given her the topper and medication Thursday evening and Friday morning, but nothing after that. As a result, Bailee went three days without her medication. I immediately called Wag'n World after discovering what had happened. All I received was a "sorry." I was told that management would call me the following day. I did receive that call, but again, I was simply told they were sorry and it was suggested that "things happen." I explained how disappointed I was because this was not something insignificant--it involved my dog's medication and her well-being. What upset me even more was being told that, in the future, I should not put her medication in the food topper in case they forget to put the topper in her bowl. To me, that felt like I was being blamed for their failure to follow the instructions I provided. Since coming home, Bailee has also developed terrible diarrhea, which is a documented side effect of missing her medication for several days. I will be taking her to the veterinarian tomorrow to get treatment to help her recover. So, in addition to paying for boarding, I am now dealing with the consequences and veterinary expense resulting from this mistake. Mistakes can happen, but how a business responds when something goes wrong matters. I was very disappointed that there was no meaningful acknowledgment of what happened, no offer to make things right, and no apparent understanding of how serious it was to miss three days of my dog's medication. Wag'n World may be a great place if everything goes smoothly, but when something does go wrong, my experience was that a simple "sorry" was all I received. I will never again leave Bailee in the care of anyone or any facility where I feel her health and well-being are not treated as a priority. She deserves better, and as her owner, it is my responsibility to make sure she receives it.

The staff was tremendously compassionate, helpful and comforting to me as I faced my dog's final day. I was referred to VEG by my dog's vet. We arrived to continue her care after her vet closed for the day. As soon as I walked in carrying my blanket covered baby, they led me into their open concept care area. There were maybe a dozen or so examination tables and several kennels along the walls and there's also, I think, two surgery rooms and a couple of dimly lit rooms for saying goodbye. Clients see what's going on with every pet at the different examination tables. Sadly I witnessed a dog die after the staff tried giving it chest compressions for what felt like forever. They really seemed to try and give it their all. It was the saddest thing to witness, especially knowing my dog was likely headed in that same direction. I lost it and cried. One of the many bouts of tears I had that day. Unlike the exam tables, the surgery and goodbye rooms are private. Dr. Burbano and staff examined my dog to see if there was anything they could do and they gave me my options and the corresponding prices. The price went up the longer they cared for my dog. I could leave her there for 24 hours, 12, 8, 4 etc and I could stay with her the whole time. I could tell there wouldn't be any progress if I left her there longer so I ended up leaving her for 8-10 hrs, enough time for progress to hopefully be made but not so long as to avoid the inevitable and to have an unnecessarily high bill. After hours on the exam table they moved her to a kennel. From the kennel she was moved to a dimly lit room where I held her in my arms for hours and said my goodbyes as she was hooked up to an IV. While in the room, a staff member went over end of life options with me, private or group cremation, different urns etc. Paying for everything was very convenient. They texted me the itemized pricing for both my dog's car and end of life options and you pay from your phone, never having to leave your pet's side. My dog's cremated remains and end of life items where delivered to my home I believe a week or two later. The postal worker ( not a VEG employee) was also kind and compassionate during the delivery. I loved how caring the VEG staff was, how well they explained everything, and that they were very understanding and didn't rush me at all. I greatly appreciate my dog's veterinarian referring me to VEG and I would highly recommend them to anyone experiencing a pet emergency or saying goodbye to their precious furry one.
