My experience was mixed. For the eye exam, Dr. Walker is polite and efficient and did everything expected. I also went because I had dry eyes and she looked at my eyes, had me blink, and told me about a treatment they offer (not covered by insurance). I said I would think about it and went home with instructions for home care, recommended eye drops and antibacterial eye wipes, and a follow up appointment. At the follow up, Dr. Walker put in eyedrops to check my tear film, examined my eyes, and told me about their treatment offering. I asked if the home therapy had been helping and she replied that she didn't know, she had not put in the drops last time. Since I thought the purpose of the follow up was to see how the home treatment was going, I left a bit surprised. Please note that 3 stars isn't bad. Yelp defines 3 stars as "ok." read more

I am sorry I have to write this review, but I am very disappointed with the level of care I received here. I came as a new patient for an annual exam along with my husband and two children. The test were basic, the communication was lacking, but I said ok, maybe I am expecting too much. I do have dry eye symptoms and the doctor suggested I come for a different appointment, especially to do the tests for dry eye. At this new dry eye appointment she did some tests but she did not have the special paper to do the tear production test (Schirmer test), so she asked me to come again another time. I asked and have been told that I will not have to pay for a new visit. Fast forward to my bill and YES, this is a new visit, new payment necessary. I called to get answers and I have been told that "this is an extra test that I requested" so it costs extra. Really? I whole appointment dedicated to dry eye and it DOESN'T include a test to see if I produce enough tears?!? Plus the deceit of having been told differently in the beginning. No thank you, I am taking my business elsewhere. Dr Walker just lost herself 4 patients. read more

This is my first experience with North Shore, and I am very pleased. I came in to get an old pair of glasses frames repaired. Unfortunately, the frames were beyond repair and I ended up buying new glasses. Roger, the optometrist, was very organized and quick to get the order placed. Turnaround time was only a few days and I am extremely happy with my purchase. They have a great selection and a very professional staff. Dr Walker took me as unknown patient with an emergency eye problem. I ended up having surgery for macula hole. After the surgery I needed a new prescription which I got elsewhere. Searching for a second opinion I went back to Dr Walker. She was so thorough and caring. She found why I wasn't seeing well. Finding small dots of dry eye as well as the eye being dry itself. Immediately she started a regiment to help the dry eye. Everything she has done is working! I would also like to add about her staff, Wonderful! They even greet me by name. Mangled, broken, drive on, Davis will replace your glasses for 2 years. The frames were extensive and the quality of service exceptional. After one month of waiting for my appointment, the day before ,the secretary called me to confirm the appointment. They confirmed a different time and because the time they confirmed never would have worked for me, I am sure they are wrong. They didn't accept their mistake and want to reschedule for next year. They have terrible customer service and the secretary doesn't know how to do her job very well. She forgot that she had talked with my insurance company and called me a second time and said sorry I forgot and then changed the time and they said we can't visit you until next year. I do not recommend this vision doctor and their employee. It's better to give some training to the secretary, knowing how to make the schedule and be responsible with conversations with insurance companies. read more

As a wearer of glasses for over 30 years, I have to say that the customer service and selection is excellent. From start to finish, I had a great experience. I have VSP insurance and ended up spending just my $25.00 for a really nice pair of glasses which included the lens and frames. There was no pressure and no upsell.
