Amazing Service Experience Yesterday, the screw holding one of my eyeglasses arms on fell out. Obviously, I can't wear the glasses without the screw in the arm. I tried several repair kits, but none of them had the right-sized screw. I thought perhaps there would be an eyeglass store in Woodinville that might be able to help me. Fortunately, I picked The Optik. I sent an email as well as a text to The Optik. Approximately 20 minutes later, I got an email back from an associate named Lilly. Her email was very pleasant and inviting, so I drove over. A sign on the door indicated that they were short of staff and there might be a wait, but I didn't have to. Lilly was sitting right at the desk. She recognized me as I walked in. She took my glasses and said Please sit down and make yourself comfortable. I'll be right back. Who does this nowadays? In about 10 minutes, she was back out and said that she wasn't able to find the exact screw, but she did find a screw that she cut and used to repair glasses. Remember this: I had no appointment. I had not purchased my glasses there, and she didn't know me from Jack. I haven't had better service from anyone in the past few years than I received from her. Thank you to Lilly, and thank you to the owners at The Optik, who hire the right people with the right attitude and training. If you need new glasses or a minor repair, like I did, I highly recommend that you go to The Optik. read more

3 stars because I had to reschedule at last min because there was no doctor available and another star off for not being transparent with their patients. Check in was easy and fast and inside is updated and clean. Plenty of parking. You will do usual eye check in stuff like measuring eye pressure and vision check. The only difference I had with this place was they didn't do dilation. At the end of appointment, they told me that retinal imaging isn't covered and i have to pay out of pocket after exam was finished. It would've been nice to let patients know ahead of time to choose either dilation which is covered under insurance vs retinal imaging for convenience but not covered by insurance. Ended up paying for $40 dollars for the scan and checked out in an hour. Overall staffs were friendly, but the experience left bitter taste in my mouth. read more

Went here for the first time yesterday and was super impressed! I liked that I was able to text the office to set up an appointment, and found this process to be super simple. Before I met with the doctor, they did some tests and scans of my eyes which I had never had done before and thought was really cool. Dr. Yarek is super kind, warm, and helpful. The exam was comfortable and quick and I felt like I could ask her anything. Everyone at their office is really kind and understanding, and I never felt pressured to make any purchases or go above and beyond what my insurance paid for. I was able to speak with a staff member after my appointment to discuss what my insurance covered and what my options were for new frames. I ended up picking out a pair, with lots of help from the staff, and am really happy with how kind and transparent they are. read more

My kid was fearful of the tests and took a bit longer (about 20ish min). She was stopped in the middle of the retina photo test. We were told the appointment time run out and had to reschedule. Disappointing experience. We had to go to a different provider in Totem Lake the same day. Turned out we were given ample amount of time and accommodation. She had no problem finishing up all the test there. read more

We have been long-time patients at Optik Vision Center, but after our most recent visit, we will not be returning. They require a back-of-the-eye photo for kids. After one eye, she was in tears. Instead of offering flexibility or alternatives, the staff insisted we continue with either the photo or dilation, despite her discomfort. For a child clearly overwhelmed and in distress, this rigid approach felt incredibly insensitive and lacking in compassion. A pediatric practice should know how to adapt to the needs of children, especially those with anxiety or sensitivities. Sadly, our experience today made it clear that patient care and comfort were not prioritized. We will be finding a new vision provider and sharing our experience so other families can make an informed choice. We've already moved our whole family to Vision Works across the street and couldn't be happier. read more

No promise being followed - multiple weeks of delay of referral call in spite of medical urgency being communicated & multiple check-in by my end to the store (and each time they said they did). Multiple weeks delay due to store-side errors but no effort on the communication in spite of upfront promise of when things will be complete. I feel I am scammed and not valued at all as customer in spite of my and my family's past commitment to this store. Serious disappointment. I would like to speak to the store owner. read more

I'm surprised by some of the reviews here, so I'm going to offer my own opinion on my experiences with this business. I recently called as I needed to buy a new pair of frames for reading and my computer, and I was bringing an already existing prescription with me. When I called, they were able to accommodate me just a few days later, which I was really delighted about. The lady that set up the appointment over the phone was really friendly and helpful. When I did show up for my appointment, I was told that I could take my time looking at the frames and then they would help me with any choices that I wanted advice on. They did explain all of the various prices and extras, but I never felt like I was pushed into anything at any stage. Because I had chosen a couple of different frames, I couldn't make up my mind immediately, so they offered to put my frames in the back for 72 hours so that I could then come back and make my choice. I did go back a few days later, and I ended up purchasing a pair of frames at this business. The lady that helped me when I returned took measurements, etc. and was again very polite. When I decided not to go with some of her suggested extras, I felt zero pressure, and it was a very good experience. I hope others give this place a chance too. I found it to be a really good local business and would be happy to go back. Looking forward to getting my new frames from here. read more

My husband and I needed to find a new optometrist as our usual office stopped taking our insurance. We loved our former office and thought we wouldn't find a place we liked more. Well, we were happily wrong. I had the best experience today with Dr McCoy and staff. First, I loved the calm aesthetics of the waiting room. Next, all the procedures were done quickly, efficiently and thoroughly. I loved their retinal imaging option and it was way cheaper than other places. I didn't realize they were gonna put drops to dilate my eyes. I usually hate that procedure bc of the blurring effects but this time I barely noticed a thing. I found Dr McCoy very personable and friendly. The staff member who helped me pick out glasses was very helpful, not pushy in any way. She was clear in her explanations and when I had a hard time choosing frames she said I could come back anytime or try another place. Wow! I loved that. Overall, I'm so happy to have found this place and would recommend to anyone looking for an excellent experience. read more

Although the facility was clean and tidy, there was not much else I could commend. The staff and the technicians were all very pushy salespeople. I was told to buy something every step of the way and every item was priced separately. They force you to take a retinal photograph that isn't covered by insurance. Their selection is very small and overpriced. I was also asked about my mood which felt invasive and inappropriate. I had a few questions that were answered, however in a very curt and yet again very sales-like way. It's better to go with a larger franchise or a different store altogether. read more

My husband and I have been loyal clients to your business for many years. I have even recommended your office to several of my neighbors. However, I find it very rude and insulting to demand on the phone that clients follow your new service protocols or that they can "go somewhere else." Extremely sales-driven. Aggressively pushes extras and items you don't need to buy. Insists on doing services with "mandatory" fees. Staff acts huffy and disappointed when you decide not to buy their overpriced frames. Definitely do not recommend going here. read more

Comfort vision in Bothell sent me to optik vision in Woodinville because my insurance wouldn't cover glasses, so they sent me to their "sistering office" that would be able to get my glasses with insurance. I go to optik vision, because they told me they could do glasses with my insurance, I do the exam, I pay $40 for pictures I didn't even want, and have had the option to opt out of in the past, then they tell me my insurance doesn't cover glasses with them either. So two places wasted my time. It cost me $70 with the pictures and lyft money, just to get told I can't get glasses, and that was the entire reason why I came to this place. I'm extremely upset and will not be returning. read more

Thank you soo soo much Steve Nguyen for squeezing me in last min! When I had an eye emergency and couldn't even open my eyes they were watering and red and itchy. I just went to another optometrist not even 2 months ago and paid out of pocket, told me I was fine and my eyes were normal which they weren't, and if they gave me proper treatment, i wouldn't be here. So thank you to Dr Kim who saw me, she was amazing and very good at explaining everything and took preventative measures to make sure I knew all my options, and I will do whatever she recommended me. Best part it was less expensive than my first exam without treatment! I felt like they actually listened to my concerns and I feel like I actually got a solution this time and my worries are no more. The worst customer service I've had in twenty years. Wouldn't even help adjust my glasses - refused to help with a second pair I'd purchased there because "they didn't have a record." Plus, the place was blazing hot on a 74 degree day. Horrible. I called to complain to the manager and didn't even get an apology. Don't spend a dollar there - you will regret it. This clinic is 1st Class with customer service. The staff greet you and constantly check on you throughout your appointment. They speak to you by name, they're loyal at call backs to check on how you're doing and they are grateful for your business. I've seen Dr. Tam and Dr. Kim who are wonderful practitioners giving you their undivided attention and expertise. Their office team are responsive, helpful and offer advise on nice looking and fitting frames. I feel like family when I'm there, and that feels good. read more

I am writing this per my wife's request. Normally she wouldn't bug me to write a review for her but she was so impressed with the service at The Optik that she wanted to Yelp it (she doesn't have an account). "I bought a living social deal for an eye appointment and some credit towards a new pair of glasses. When I first called to make an appointment they were pretty friendly right off the bat. I had to fill out my medical history via online and the website was user-friendly and easy to use. At my eye appointment they were all very nice and put me to ease right away. They didn't give me any guilt trips about not going to see an eye doctor since it's been awhile since I've seen one and I appreciate that about them. When it came time to pick out a pair of eyeglasses one of the staff members took her time with me and didn't rush me at all, even though I practically tried on the entire store. At one of my follow-up appointments they accidentally messed up on one of my contact lens order, and for that they gave me a Starbucks gift card! I went here a couple times when it was Norgarrds, so when it was time for an exam and new glasses I decided to give The Optik a shot. I was able to make an appointment online and it was confirmed via email, which was nice. Now, the old place was your typical bland optometrist place: white walls, very sterile, boring one might even say. I walked into The Optik and it felt like walking into a salon or something; new non-white paint, everything was just "fancied up" a bit, including the four girls at reception that all looked like models. "Hmm, this place may not be my speed anymore..." I thought. BUT, everyone was very nice and super helpful. The models...err receptionists...got me checked in right away, then it was time for the preliminary exam with the assistant. She ran me through the tests, mildly tried to upsell me on some new exam, then it was over to the doctor. He was a great guy, very friendly, very mellow exam. He's from San Antonio originally, so we talked some Spurs, and before I knew it I was all finished. They had some, but not all, of my info from when I was there at Norgarrds, so that helped a bit. Then by far my least favorite part of going to the optometrist: trying to pick out new frames. Ugh. The model that helped me was great and we managed to find something that looks decent on my huge, ugly watermelon of a head and was decently priced. Took about a week to get the new specs in and everything was great. They give you a very nice little tote (gave it to Mom and she was happy) to put everything in, and I was out the door. Overall a great experience and I will go back when I'm due for another exam. read more

I bought a Groupon because for some reason I don't have vision insurance this year (as a public school teacher...go figure). The appointment-making process couldn't have been easier. They emailed me back and forth until we found a day and time that worked, and I filled out the paperwork online. When I came in, 30 minutes early, the gal at the front desk was SO nice. She suggested that I go check out the frames while waiting. Since I hadn't been to an eye exam in at LEAST 15 years, I had no idea what to expect. Everyone was so nice and walked me through each of the different tests. I saw Dr. Yang for the actual exam, and she was so great! She explained exactly what she was doing and how she thought my eyes looked. My eyes weren't as bad as I thought they were, but I ended up getting glasses to wear while driving (especially at night) and I can wear them as often as I want. If I decide I want contact, if I return within 90 days they will waive some of the fees and pretend that I did the contact exam today during this exam! From beginning to end, the customer service of this office was truly impressive. I was nervous coming in, but they put me at ease right away. I am actually looking forward to returning to pick up my new glasses in 7-10 days, if that tells you anything! read more

Overall, my experience at the Optik was frankly one of the best experiences I have ever had at an optometrist's office. That's why I was really surprised to see such a low score on yelp! Everything from the appointment reminders to the contact lens fitting was above and beyond anything that I was expecting. I was in need of an eye check-up , new contact lenses, and new glasses. Dr. Nguyen came highly recommended from several friends. I was going to be in the area of his new practice in Woodinville. It was very easy to make an appointment and they had a lovely system where I received a text reminder both the day before and a few hours before my appointment. Since I was a new patient there was an online form that I could fill out regarding my medical/background information prior to coming in. The front desk staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable. The office was under construction but it was overall well lit, although there were some odd paintings that I was told were there prior to them moving into the space and would be removed soon. The eye appointment itself was great. One thing that I really liked was they didn't have to dilate my eyes as there was a machine that took a picture of the back of my eye. This is something that my old optometrist and I would always get into arguments about because I have dark eyes and the previous doc always wanted to heavily dilate my eyes which would prevent me from doing anything the rest of the day. Dr. Nguyen went over the results of this with me. I found that to be very informative and a testament that the Optik's dedication to not only use best practices in the field but also willing to invest the money, to be what I would think, in the cutting-edge in eye care. I also took some time to look at their selection of glasses. I usually have a really difficult time finding something that I like and frames my face but with help from the staff I was able to find something that both my girlfriend (I sent pictures to her at work as they took pictures of me wearing the glasses with my phone) and I liked.
