Gone downhill, sorry to say. "Screening" person in building lobby on cell phone on personal call, using same gloves with phone as handling items for patients. Front desk person unable to handle issue with another patients paperwork, causing 30-45 min delay for everyone else waiting. Gown not in plastic bag, had medical item still glued on (me thinks not clean). Nurse was impatient with zero compassion that patients are undergoing unpleasant test which the results of could be life changing. She kept complaining to me about the fact "they" are not scheduling enough time between patients to allow for the extra cleaning needed or problems that come up. WRA used to survey their patients - did not get one this time around so taking it public. read more

I scheduled a full diagnostic mammogram which was ordered by my doctor because of my lumpectomy history. When I scheduled it, I told the person that I needed the diagnostic!!! When I got to my appointment they said it was scheduled as a routine screening and had no time for me. I was NOT HAPPY!! They would not accommodate me, after it being their fault with whomever scheduled me, scheduled it wrong!!! Thanks The staff was rude, uncaring and could not get me back in for a month. I found https://www.fairfaxradiology.com/locations/fairfax-radiology-breast-center-loudoun who were extremely nice, told me information that I didn't know (if you've had a Covid vaccine you have to wait until 4 weeks to have a mammogram). I picked up my records today 9/30/21 and while there another lady was going through exactly what I went through!!!! She also needed a full diagnostic and was told it was a screening. I talked to her and gave her the name of Fairfax Radiology Breast Center in Loudoun and how nice and accommodating they were and suggested she leave WRA. The staff has changed, the technician Barb who was amazing retired and the whole office is incompetent. I worked in the medical field for 45 years and would never treat patients this way. Must admit, the negative reviews scared me a bit, but my experience with Washington Radiology in Sterling was nothing but positive! Tina at the front desk smiled when I entered, was kind, courteous and professional. I was called back at 10:05 for a 10:15 scan appointment. My Nurse, Karen, was outstanding. She explained everything very thoroughly, was efficient, positive and confident, thus instilling confidence in me. I felt safe, secure and comfortable all through the scan process and felt like she genuinely cared about my well-being. I commend WR for hiring such competent and caring staff members and I would not hesitate to recommend this office for any imaging needed. read more

Nice office building but the Dr. who worked with me, Dr. Johnson, was very unprofessional during my pelvic exam. She rammed the tool without asking if I was ready, telling me what she was about to do, that I should relax. ... nothing. I stopped her right before because I got scarred then she said " relax" and put it in. She is very insensitive and I will not be back. No apology or anything even though I yelled out covering my mouth to muffle the noise. read more

Just take a look at the review on yelp by the poster ACM. It makes no sense yet it obviously portrays itself to be negative to the detriment of Washington radiology. This is the problem with Yelp anybody can say what they want to say and ruin the reputation of a service provider. The ACM review and a number of the other reviews about Washington radiology should be reviewed them selves and taken down. No I don't work for them read more

I went for my preventive annual mamogram. They didn't give me the results right away. Later they called for a new mamogram, fthe first one was not clear. So I went for a second mamogram, they told me that the doctor asked for a 3D. I waited for the results because they might need an ultrasound. They ended up doing the ultrasound, and I got the results immediately. After some weeks, i received an invoice to pay for the 3D that didn't work. Nobody advised me of this and I didn't even think about it as it was preventive. Once they called for a second mamogram, they claimed it as diagnostic even though they asked to repeat it because it was not clear... and then they bill you. So is this a common practice to get more money from you and from your insurance? Check it out and share ladies! read more

I don't usually have to wait but today they were very busy and I liked that the courteous staff kept me informed of how long I could expect u til the next steps. I get my mammogram here every year and I always know it'll be easy and my whole body won't be exposed. They do a great job of respecting the situation. read more

Was very skeptical of the negative reviews but had an excellent experience. First mammogram, no issues or family history fortunately, but nervous nonetheless. Zero wait time, paperwork was breeze, and the tech was very professional and did not cause me any pain. She also told me that I would get a callback within 2 days, if needed, which is nice to hear they don't leave patients waiting a week or two to know if there is an issue. read more

Been here twice over a two year span, & both times, their systems have gone down. It's the system that transfers the radiology results to the doc...so that translates into sitting/waiting time in a gown & robe. Sitting/waiting both times for about a half hour.... Good service/staff, but you'll spend a bunch of time with them! read more

They sent my labwork to a lab my insurance does not cover and now I am out $1,500. When I called to find out why it was sent to a different lab that my insurance does not cover I was told "you initialed paperwork that you agree to have it sent to the lab we work with" .... I was in my first trimester of pregnancy and very ill. I have never ever been treated this way by any provider, no doctor, no facility, no place. Horrible business practice, how uncaring can they be?? Just floored! read more

My 2 hour appointment was canceled as I waited in the reception area. Upon arrival for my appointment, I waited several minutes for the receptionists to finish their conversation to acknowledge me (9 minutes past my appointment time to be exact). 26 minutes past my appointment time, I was called up and informed that my order from my dr's office was incorrect, and they had no luck getting anyone from my dr's office on the phone to correct it. They left a message for a call back for a verbal approval, but if they didn't call back within 10-15 minutes, my appointment would need to be rescheduled. I went back to my seat, called my dr's office and immediately got my doctor on the phone. While I was speaking to her, the receptionist called the greeter inside to tell her to warn everyone on arrival that they had called 15-30 minutes behind on all appointments. I handed my phone over to the receptionist and my dr gave the verbal approval to update my order and move ahead with my scan. I walked back to my seat and proceeded to listen to the receptionist telling someone on the phone that I was indeed able to get approval on my own and then I was called back up again. This time to be told that because they were busy and my '15-30 minute grace window' had actually passed, I would need to reschedule for another day. It was 3:34 - I had 'missed' this grace period (through no fault of my own) by 4 minutes. That 4 minutes cost me 3 hours of missed work plus the missed work I'll have again when I actually do get the opportunity to have my scans done. No apology, no acknowledgement or respect of my time. Perhaps that 9 minutes of chitchat when I arrived and waited with clipboard in hand would have been helpful? Perhaps telling me before 26 minutes had passed that my doctor was unavailable would have been helpful - especially considering I was able to get her on the phone within 2 minutes of calling - would have been helpful - or at the very least, an acknowledgement that my time and all that comes with clearing your calendar for a 2hr scan entails would have been helpful. read more

Every time I come here, there's a long wait. Ridiculous. I will be going back to my other place after this. First, they tell you it's a 15 minute wait, then it's 45 min. Good grief. I have been going to Washington Radiology for the last 10 years. Everyone is always very nice. The facility is clean and well decorated, the technicians are always very nice. The radiologists are also very knowledgeable and friendly. I have been to other facilities in the area and was not impressed. I would definitely recommend! read more

I have been getting quarterly CT scans here for the past two years. I have never had to wait. The staff is always friendly. Karen is a fabulous nurse! Parking is convenient. I'm afraid I will be continuing to get scans for a while. But I do not dread the appointments. They make this experience so much better because of their caring, efficient staff. I should have turned around as soon as I walked in. The waiting room full of frustrated looking people. Had to wait for over an hour just to get into another room to wait further. All told it took almost 1.5 hours for a simple ultrasound. I could not recommend anyone come to this place as it is run very unprofessionally. Everyone is required to have an appointment before coming to their office. The extreme wait strikes me not so much as incompetent as intentional indifference to patient's time and well being. read more

I was sent here for a renal ultrasound, which I have had before, at a Dr.'s office. I told the tech that I was hard of hearing and to speak slowly. Of course, she didn't, and between her accent and rapid-fire speech, I had to ask her to repeat herself several times. She thought that was funny and kept laughing about it. After she finished the procedure, a radiologist came in and literally went on a rant about what I had done to my right kidney, how I had abused it, that it looked dead to him. I explained that I have had issues with my kidneys for many years and that some of the medications I have been given for other conditions had caused problems. Then, the guy told me he "liked" my left kidney, it was in wonderful shape! As a former R.N., I have never heard of being able to cause damage to one kidney, but not the other! I was speechless at the rant and the attitude, and will not be back. read more

I read the reviews prior to showing up for my appointment. I regret to say that I did not believe the negative reviews, even though there were quite a number of them. They are true. Plan to spend 1.5 to 2+ hours for a mammogram/bone density "appointment". Front desk ladies are nice, even when responding to several "how much longer" questions. They would call in the back and ask for a status. Whenever someone would enter the waiting area they would ask "do you have an appointment?". After waiting about 45 minutes myself, and hearing several other people who had been waiting longer than I had ask "how much longer", I wondered what difference having an "appointment" would make. I was finally taken back and told to change into a gown. The bone density went quickly. Missy took me back to the changing room and said I could change and leave ... I mentioned that I was also here for a mammogram and she said oh, right, wait here and someone will be with you. 30+ minutes later I wandered around and found someone to confirm that they knew I was waiting ... about 25 minutes later I had my mammogram done. I filled out the survey on the way out and asked to be contacted ... so far, no contact. Definitely won't return to Washington Radiology, any location. I understand there are other facilities with more up-to-date equipment that I will use in the future. read more

I had a CT this morning. I am three weeks post op from a bilateral mastectomy. The office is very nice and the staff was very helpful. My radiology nurse, Karen Moulton, was exceptional. She was knowledgeable, compassionate and walked me through the entire process. She made what was an otherwise uncomfortable and frightening experience as pleasant as possible.
