This giant radiology center is near my home. They take walk-in patients as well as appointments. For X-rays it's only walk in. The process to check in is very simple. The staff at the desk is friendly and walks you through their iPad checkin. Staff doing the tests are also very patient. I didn't have to wait that long even though I was walk in. Lobby is spacious. Dressing rooms are clean with laundered gowns and safe areas especially since it's a coed dressing area. read more

Fairfax Radiology is all about the money. Their customer service is horrible. I was ignored upon checking-in for quite some time. The bill was rejected by insurance. I checked with insurance and they stated there was no explanation for the test and told me to ask Fairfax Radiology to resubmit the claim. FR said they will not resubmit and that I signed paperwork that said I would pay if insurance didn't cover it. They DO NOT CARE about the patient. They only care about the cash! Received multiple reminder about my appointment only to get to the appointment and be informed that I am unprepared as I do not have the MD order! MD office closed and I have taken off and now can't be seen. Usually the MD office faxes the order. Horrible Experience. It is a loss in revenue to turn the patient away. AT Part 1... Long story short: I strongly recommend taking a closer look at the reviews of this center before becoming a patient. After my own experience, I unfortunately understand exactly why this office has so many complaints about communication, administration, billing, and customer service. The biggest and worst "final boss" there - and essentially the only and final point of contact - is "Cintzia", the financial/billing department manager. This situation happened and started about 5 years ago during COVID. I scheduled as a new patient appointment and waited approximately 4-5 months because I was told they were fully booked and not accepting earlier appointments for new patients. However, over time I started realizing that the real reason behind many of these scheduling practices is often financial and insurance-related. Especially toward the end of the year, medical office become much more cautious with insurance patients because they worry about deductibles, insurance changes, denied claims, delayed reimbursements, inactive policies, or unpaid balances. In January, everything "resets," making billing cleaner and more predictable for the office instead of prioritizing the patient. And even you are trying to make an appointment in August or September, they will offer you the date after a new calendar year. Even if a patient clearly explains that they are not changing jobs or insurance plans, the office still delay appointments because they assume insurance may change in a few weeks or months, creating additional paperwork or billing risks for them. Unfortunately, it can sometimes feel like patient care becomes secondary to reimbursement concerns. But of course, no one will clearly disclose that to you - it's just a shady practice. During scheduling, they collected my basic information, and because I previously worked in healthcare and medical offices myself, I specifically asked about the cancellation policy. I was told that if I needed to cancel or reschedule an appointment, I simply needed to give 24 hours notice in advance. I also specifically asked whether there were any cancellation fees, and the receptionist clearly told me there were no fees. When the appointment date finally came, I tested positive for COVID. Over the weekend - more than 48 hours before my appointment I attempted to contact the office multiple times. Nobody answered, so I left voicemail messages. I also called again on the day of the appointment to confirm the cancellation and request a new appointment date. The receptionist later claimed they can't find my voicemail messages or calls, despite the fact that I had phone logs showing otherwise. During our phone conversation, I specifically asked her to check the voicemail records and call logs again, which she said she would review and handle. However, she never did. She showed absolutely no concern about the situation. I explained that I had COVID and asked whether we could simply reschedule the appointment after I recovered and waive the $150 fee, but she refused, saying I would need to speak with the billing department first. That response was honestly very strange to me because this was clearly a front desk issue, a lack of responsibility, and a complete unwillingness to help resolve the situation. From my perspective, it seemed easier for them to present incomplete or inaccurate information to the financial department rather than actually investigate what happened or to take responsibility for it. Of course, nobody truly cared to check the call logs or voicemail records. And as a potential patient, what could I really do? Absolutely nothing. I simply received a completely unfair $150 charge caused by someone else's negligence and lack of professionalism. read more

Had an MRI at this location as I have had before. Late in the evening and ran late until the lady receptionist kindly checked on my status and I was called. Procedure went smoothly with technicians polite and efficient. Now just waiting for the report. Apparently doctors have access but I don't which is a bit strange. read more

Your tendency to underpromise and overdeliver is annoying to say the least. I needed a disk...was told it takes 10-15 mins and it took 3. That's great....but annoying, too. I was not informed that reading the results of the scan took 5-7 business days at any point...My appointment that this scan depends on is in 2 business days and already scheduled. What should I have done about that since you didn't communicate? Also, even though Also, why are you texting me at 11pm on a Friday night asking for a review? read more

Performed my CT Scan performed. All was good until I have visited my doctor. The image was not set to doctor, nor was I given the image file to me. Therefore completely nullifying my doctors visit costing money for doctors fee. Very unprofessional and lack of concern. read more

Had to wait on the phone for 30+ minutes to make an appointment. Luckily I was able to get an appointment the same week. The day of, I arrived on time, checkin was fast and painless, and the tech called me on time and explained the procedure to me which took like 20 mins. Net net I had a decent experience and would recommend this to others for sonograms etc. read more

This is my second visit to Fairfax Radiology Center. The office is clean, modern and spacious. The staff is warm and inviting. They meet you with warm and welcoming smiles that are very comforting. My Doc set me in for an X-Ray and an Ultrasound - the normal facility that provides these services in Haymarket was unable to due to a staffing shortage - so I made the trek out to Lansdowne to Fairfax Radiology Centers. Two different appointments for two different services - they handled it fairly quickly - I was in and out. For starters, they apparently pay Google not to have reviews open, but only through their website where I've never seen a bad review...because they delete them. I've been to the one on University Dr., Fairfax and they are good once you have an appointment. Making the appointment with any of their centers is a nightmare. Additionally, they insist x-rays are walk in only, but I have been to the Fairfax center on multiple occasions where the walk ins are told "today is by appointment only". That's happened to me once. Tried to make an appointment and got told it's all walk in. Their website says to call first to make sure x-rays are walk in that day, but if you cal the number no one answers the freakin phone. read more

Gave a ride to a friend to this center, before Valentine's Day, the place looked very clean with some Valentine's Day decorations. While waiting in the lobby for my friend, I noticed the staff in the front was very professional, friendly and cheerful. Later my friend told me that the technician was nice. So, overall this is a nice center for radiology related tests. read more

Received results with a conclusion and it stated a radiologist did not review my scan. Unclear how a diagnosis can be made without review from a radiologist. Office appears to care more about reducing patient wait times than accurate service and diagnosis. read more

They disregard prior procedures as a way to upcharge insurance and patient and claim diagnostic when in fact, it's not diagnostic, they could have just read the patient's past record. The exact same "dense area" had an ultrasound in the past with absolutely zero change. They tell you they note that in your record but thoroughly disregard said notes, cause angst and fear, and fraudulently perform unnecessary procedures and incur false charges. When questioned on this despicable practice, deny deny deny. read more

I went to the Lansdowne office for an MRI Enterography. I was extremely nervous because, besides the usual anxiety associated with an MRI, this exam also required drinking 3 bottles of contrast, a shot in the arm, and an IV. The staff was great. They were kind, informative, and patient. They explained each step of the process very well, answered all my questions, and even interrupted the exam for a few moments to reassure me when I got nervous. I was given the option to wear a visor with a mirror on it which reflects behind you to show projections on the wall of nature scenes. This helped a lot. Also, inside the machine there was enough room on either side so I could move my arms and legs slightly between scans. The staff regularly checked in on me during the test and gave me a status of how much longer to go. In short, the staff got me through a difficult exam I wasn't sure I could complete. I definitely recommend this radiology office. read more
