Before I get to my own review, I have to say that I think the other reviewer, Jaime C., might have…read morebeen mistaken about which business they were reviewing. Ruben, the owner, is *incredibly* kind, respectful, and fair. I have a very hard time believing that he or anyone who works for him would have behaved in the way described in that review. Hopefully it's just a case of reviewing the wrong company, but it's unfortunate that it's the ONLY review (before mine) and it's so negative. Because our experience with them was wonderful. We recently had some deck work done, including some under-deck waterproofing on a 2nd level deck and an roof over half of the upper deck. We needed to come up with a solution to handle the downspout from the roof up top, install a gutter for the underdecking, and we were hopeful that we could find a way to merge the two lines while avoid flooding our back yard. Ruben came for a quote/consultation and helped us come up with a great solution for both water sources to join together in a funnel and then drain down into a PVC pipe that ran underground and out of our yard (not into anyone else's yard, don't worry!). We chose the colors for both sections of the gutter, he ordered the material, and told us that we are not expected to pay anything until the work is complete and we confirm that we are satisfied. He was extremely generous in this respect and was very clear that if there was anything we weren't sure about or didn't like, they would fix it on the spot before any money changed hands. When it came time to do the work, Ruben and one other gentleman showed up at 8am sharp and got to work right away. They completed the job quickly, and even managed to fit in a cleaning of that upper deck roof mentioned before (for an extra charge, but of course, because it's additional work and it required them to spend a lot of time on very high ladders - we were happy to pay). To top it off, while they were here, a *different* company was here to clean the gutters on our home. They didn't have sufficient equipment, so they had to leave the job about half-done. Fortunately they didn't charge us, but they talked to Ruben and it turns out Ruben *does* have the right equipment, so he's going to come back to finish the job that other company couldn't, and the charge for coming back is extremely fair. And, honestly, he's just SO friendly. If you need gutter work done, I absolutely recommend giving MS Timber a chance. At LEAST have Ruben come out to give you a quote so you can see what I mean. What a great guy. He'll be the first person we call in the future for any gutter needs.

(Not leaking gutters, but originally installed incorrectly, years ago.) He also installed new gutters where needed, with more gentle curves that won't clog as easily, including new "cleanouts". Hired this company as part of a state home modification so unfortunately could not fire them part…read moreway through. $22,000 for ceiling removal with asbestos abatement, sound dampening and a new soffit. It was weeks of trying to avoid doing contractual work, add fees, calling me names, hanging up the phone on me before the first crew finally walked off of the job in front of the company owner. No apology provided to me, but after significant negotiation they did agree to hire a subcontractor to fix their work. Unfortunately this meant that they sanded their texture work and did not seal the ductwork first and refused to put up plastic in the doorway. I had to put up plastic and then spent 30 hours cleaning my home once I figured out what the air quality issue was. I have a disability and am prone to respiratory infections which is what I was diagnosed with following this event. The new crew told me that the soffit the previous crew built was too crooked to fix but I wouldn't notice it. They decided that they completed the project and the problem was the ductwork underneath the soffit. They want thousands more to replace my ductwork and build a new soffit. I cannot find their electrical license online although they did electrical work. The light fixture they installed will not turn off and they will not hire an electrician to fix their work. This was supposed to be a home modification project to help my disabled son--a fact that they have had no regard for throughout the project.

Wow, it's really amazing how bad a contractor can be. What should have been a simple siding job has…read moreturned into a yearlong ordeal with neither HP Lion or Lowes accepting responsibility for the poor job they have done and which they claim meets their satisfaction. Additionally, I've not been able to find any certification listing from James Hardie with their informaiton so I'm suspect about the warranty on my product. The original work left with very poor trim, many nails not being set in fully and both of my hose bibs unusable, which they did actually fix. I still have the plumbing for my outdoor sink unattached, an electrical box for the AC just dangling off the side of the house and a vent placed on the wall that doesn't attach to anything. They claim this is acceptable work from their end and won't even come back out to look a the damage they have left behind. I would not suggest anyone hire this company to hang a picture, much less attempt to do actual work on your investment.
