I have used Oregon Gutter/Exterior Experts for gutter replacement, gutter cleaning, house painting and skylight replacement over the years. First the good... reasonable prices and the additional subs did a great job house painting & gutter installation was decent. The bad... gutter cleaners leave your yard a mess (aside from a quick blower run on walkways). The worst... the wrong replacement skylight model was procured by the install team who then proceeded to chop on and totally damage my interior trim box. The team eventually got the correct window and installed it however the trim box was not repaired properly (it was covered with additional material vs replaced to original form) which resulted in blocking the ability to install (or access) the screen. The team damaged the screen trying to install and claimed they would replace it with a custom screen that would be accessible. They took the damaged screen and relayed that they would return with the custom within a couple of weeks. Current state after 7 months of contacting both the office and the owner of this company is that i have a skylight in my house with a substandard trim box and NO SCREEN and have contacted both the owner of the business and the office team to try to resolve this for 7 months now with zero progress. Shame on me for completing skylight job payment when the owner pressured me with this outstanding issue and said "Don't you trust me...". (No I do not trust you, Chad.) Proceed at your own risk and beware of additional company names the owner operates under. read more

I was told by owner Chad, that he could do an underground gutter $5,000 to keep water from going to my foundation and I would not need a French drain built. Not only were the pipes not buried correctly but I had flooding on my front lawn where the line went. It also flooded my flower bed to the point Barkdust was going down my front walkway to the public sidewalk. The pipes weren't farther enough out from my house and I had flooding on the other side of the yard. When I told about this he was irate! He threatened to come over "to pull it all up and just let the water ruin my foundation." The guy has no boundaries. He sent people out to my house to work when I had emphatically said, "NO!" Would you want someone out to your house that is a threatening Bully? I ended up paying an extra $5,000 for a French drain. The underground gutter he built is useless. I had several other professional look at it and agreed it was a bad job. Did I mention I can't open my backdoor all the way because of gutter being in the way? read more

They were quick and easy to use as a resource when my 3 story down spout blew off my house in the last storm. They were able to replace the builder grade base level equipment with much sturdier longer lasting aluminum and will certainly use them for the whole replace project when I'm ready in the next year or two. They do have a minimum job requirement of $250 and this one downspout still came in at $300 dollars even though initially they didn't think it would even qualify for more than the minimum. They gave me an unofficial ballpark for the entire job costs and seems reasonable. This is a great company to do business with. I had multiple interactions with gutter companies and Oregon Exterior Experts was the least salesman like. Actually, the estimator tried to talk me out of a feature I wanted. I really appreciate not having things pushed on me. Other estimators tried to oversell their features. Even with my features I wanted, Oregon exterior experts provided the best price and a lifetime warranty. On the day of install, the installers worked seamlessly and with precision. There was a mixup with the extra features I ordered but the installers got the right parts on site and finished the job quickly without hassle. There were no extra fees or delays. During the demolition of the old gutter system the crew didn't make a mess or cause any damage. They also had a team member come and pickup the scrap from the old gutters as they were working and saving time. My house is not a small one story house and the whole job took 4 and a half hours. From a communication standpoint the business office was very communicative and easy to get ahold of during all stages of the job. They were prompt in their response to the solicitation. They were easy to work with when I requested an updated quote price and their scheduling system makes it easy to schedule at your convenience. OEE installed gutters and downspouts on our new two-story garage building. The estimator came out and explained the options and products, all for a fair price. The installers arrived on schedule and the install was quick and easy. I like the product, the gutters and downspouts came powder-coated and we picked the colors we wanted. Also, they understood our concern that we wanted debris protection screens that would not plug up with pine needles, so they suggested a larger 6 in gutter and installed the gutter cover debris screens at a sloped angle similar to the roof angle so that hopefully the doug fir needles will more likely fall/wash off the screens and not just sit on top of the screens (which happened on our old screens which were arranged horizontally) read more

When we bought our house from a family member back in 2002, we didn't realize the Lifetime Warranty on the Leafguard Gutters had to be transferred, at the time of sale, in order to remain valid. Unfortunately since then, they have been nothing but trouble. For example, when it rains hard, like it sometimes does in the Pacific NW, we have "lovely" waterfall features coming off the sides of our house. Oh, and forget about trying to clean them out yourself, thanks to their horrible design. But the last straw was during our recent snow/ice storm. We had icicles that were almost taller than me, hanging from the gutters, because there was nowhere for the roof runoff to go, and the temperatures were below freezing. Not good, and not safe. Sunday night (2/26), I requested a quote appointment through Yelp, and the very next day, their tech, Daniel, was here to check things out. He put together a plan which was reasonable, and said he could have a crew here on Thursday (3/2). And they would give us a 10% discount off the total price -- their special at the time. Today (3/2) they arrived on-time, removed the old garbage gutters, installed new gutters and flashing, (they were able to use our existing downspouts) and cleaned up everything before they left. Also they were all singing and laughing, even though it was less than pleasant out. The only issue we had was with the payment. The quote Daniel originally gave us didn't have the 3% credit card processing fee included. He did tell us about it, though, and recommended to pay by check the day of, to avoid the fee, which we did. However, when we received the invoice a little later by email, it showed as unpaid, and the total was higher -- the 3% had been added. I emailed them back saying we'd paid by check, and that the invoice was confusing and incorrect. Mackenzie quickly responded with an apology and sent us a new corrected invoice, showing our payment. Finally, as I've been writing this, our new gutters have just been baptized with not only rain, but Hail too. Is it summer yet? I had a gutter separate from the corner of my two-story home and was not able to reach the issue myself. The gutter spike had worked its way out and left a 1-2" gap behind the gutter. Every time it rained, the gutter corner would overflow due to sagging and I'd have a waterfall which was creating a huge mess. I reached out to a few gutter repair companies and Oregon Gutter Experts we're the quickest to respond. Mackenzie quickly contacted me and said they can help, in fact she could get someone out the very next day. They have a minimum $250 service fee to come out and look over the issue. Last year I had them install new gutters on my house. The initial estimator gave me a bit of a hard-sale, going to great lengths to point out a large number of defects in my gutters (like ferrules, which were still working but a relic of an older style), and strongly recommending gutter guards. Later, the owner came out on his own time to the property and determined the gutter color selected by the estimator was incorrect. He also recommended against gutter guards and favored regular cleanings instead. The receptionist/office rep Mckenzie was very helpful and polite, and was one of the reasons I opted to use them. After installation, I went up on the ladder to review the work and noticed 4-5 hidden hangers were not attached to the house, but instead were dangling free. The side of the house was left dirty in places from the removal of the gutters. A caulking gun was left hanging from the gutters as well, which led me to believe they were in a hurry. A couple of days later I noticed water pooling in one section of the gutters due to improper sloping. In all, two additional trips were required to fix the issues, and I'm still not confident that the gutters were sloped properly everywhere. They did come back on their own dime to try to fix the issues, but I felt like I had to take it upon myself to be the quality control. read more

There was a scheduling mishap for someone to come give me an estimate this afternoon and Chad made it a point to come this evening and work around my busy schedule. I recently purchased a home and after I had cleaned a ton of ash from the gutter I realized the slope appeared off and it had pulled away from the house a bit. I expected that I would have to replace the whole gutter on a home that is only 3 years old. We purchased our 25 year old house with original gutters from the builder failing miserably. Chad explained they were cheap steel gutters with downspouts with hard angles prone to blocking. Called on Friday the 16th about a leak in my house due to missing flashing. Got Mckenzie, was great to talk to, said she can have a roofer come out to install the flashing on the following Monday at 9am with Chad the owner to determine if I need more work done. She assured me they'd install the flashing. Monday 9:15 rolls around. I get through to Chad who has no idea why he was called out and said they do not typically perform any work without first doing an assessment. Said he should be able to get out either the next day, or Wednesday. I call Mckenzie back who doesn't fully remember our conversation on Friday, but eventually remembers and tells me she'll call Chad and sort it out. I get an appoint for Friday the 23rd at 11am (today). I follow up with the an email about appointment to make sure they will indeed come and install the flashing. Yes, is the response. Portland weather forecast shows snow Thursday night. I email Mckenzie to confirm they'll be here. She says as of now, they're still on. Friday morning, 8:30am, I get a reschedule for January 4th. I call Mckenzie who a) Doesn't understand why I'm upset b) Doesn't have any explanation why they couldn't come before Friday c) Doesn't apologize, just says, "well the weather, and we're not working next week". The only reason I went with OEE in the first place is because they said they'd come out the next Monday. Now I get to go into the holidays with likely no roofer available to come out until next year, and water coming into my house. I get that roofers are in high demand and they get to string customers along - but at this time of year to not even get out within 15 days of the original appointment is just bad business. read more

We've decided to get our house painted this year. The painter told us it is advisable to get the gutters installed first, ahead of painting. We asked for gutter estimates from a few places. I called Oregon Exterior for a quote on two new down spots because water coming off roof was filling up the rain gutters and over flowing. Salesman showed up the next day and noticed that the house had old style all steel gutters with a very narrow bottom. Suggested instead that I buy all new aluminum rain gutters with wide bottoms capable of handling the water. For about $5,900, they installed all new rain gutters. Installers did a great job working on a 2-Story Home over 30 feet above the ground. Finished everything and cleaned up in just 5 hours. Two months later, I noticed a leak in one corner. Took a photo of it and attached that with my Paid-In- Full Receipt of Payment. The guarantee of Oregon Exterior is that they stand by their product and will fix any issues at anytime. I sent one email to the Oregon Exterior Company and the Other to the Salesman who gave the estimated bid for the job. There has been no response back. In the meantime, I found a 35 foot ladder, climbed up to the roof and spray painted the problem area with liquid rubber which stopped the leak. So they do good work, but once they are paid, don't expect them to honor their 100% GUARANTEE OR TO RETURN TO YOUR HOUSE TO FIX ANY PROBLEMS.
