Mail fraud on my checking account (stolen checks) resulted in freezing that account, which resulted in nonpayment on a recent water bill. In such a scenario, WSSC puts the offending account into a cash-only status, so direct deduction from checking accounts is barred---only money orders, cash, and cashier's checks are accepted. These can be mailed, paid in person during business hours, or dropped off in their after-hours deposit box. I did the third option; it was super easy. You pull up to their grandiose building (seriously, this is like the height of luxury; I thought it was an upscale condo building!), work you way around to the drop-off area, and put your payment in an envelope that you slide into a secure box. Remember to bring a pen so you can fill out the front of the envelope with account info!

The worst company on earth They charge whatever they want whenever they can they do all kind stupid things and they're always right, You can't never win with them, in the past I have received bills for over a 1'000 it's always my fault I received a bill on January 2020 from October 7 to January 7 2020 for $285, I paid it, on April 20 I received a bill from October 7 2019 through April 7 2020 for $659 I called and asked why was that? The person who assisted me said that, oooh the first bill in January was an estimated bill, after we read the meter we found that was more and we have adjusted to your new bill, I said how come that be posible ??? He said oh due to the covid19 we weren't able to go and read it, I said back in January there was no freaking covid19 excuses in the USA So now all their freaking mistakes will cost me $944 dollars How come they hired the most stupid people to work with them or they train them to My next bill on July 2020 arrived for $753 bucks What the hell is going on with this people? Geeez What's their freaking goal??????? When you call it's always right amount for them to charge

Meter reading request notice, front. Note that no reason is checked as to why they couldn't read the meter.

Again, 1 star only because Yelp won't let me give zero. An update. After having an extensive phone conversation with them during which we tried to explain to them that they can read our meter remotely, from their office, they still insisted that someone stay home on a recent Friday from 8 am-noon. My better half did stay but WSSC never bothered to show up. Now, a month later, they sent someone out without notice to try to read our meter (again, which they are perfectly capable of reading from their office, though we might as well tell that to a wall for all the good that does us) and they leave us this notice (pictured), which doesn't even have a reason checked for why they can't read the meter, because we happened to not be there when they showed up. Completely and utterly useless. The only reason we deal with WSSC is because we have no other choice.

Palatial headquarters of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission - the world's worst public utility.

WSSC is without question the worst public utility in existence. They have an arrogant, self-serving, my-way-or-the-highway approach to doing business. Why? Because as a quasi governmental agency that answers to no one, they can get away with it. Outrageously high commodity charges which go as high as $7/thousand gallons of water, all kinds of trick fees to separate their customers from their money, and arrogant take no prisoners customer service. Then they don't maintain their pipes and wreak havoc on area roads with broken mains and floods. Wish someone would take them to task and hold them accountable, but nobody in MoCo or PG cares.

Water within the WSSC coverage area. They announced they were aware of this problem 2 weeks ago, yet it has progressively worsened.

They made solid recommendations and were very easy to work with. The job was completed extremely well and the price was reasonable. I would say they actually exceeded my expectations. The new heat pump is amazing: it is nearly silent and yet it does a great job keeping my home warm. Definitely would recommend Elysian to others looking for a quality heat pump installation.

Thankfully, no one was in the room at the time. Messy, dirty, cough inducing insulation particles all over the room. Couldn't even open the door. Dealing with insurance now. Funny thing (not haha) - suddenly, Elysian 'found' all the documentation that my insurance company requested - the very documents they told me they didn't have and were not required to hold beyond 2 or 3 years. And just yesterday (7/5/24) the ceiling in the other room collapsed!! Can't open the door. Drywall and the horrible blown insulation ALL OVER THE ROOM!!! New insurance claim, and now my insurance premiums will probably be unaffordable if they don't drop me altogether. If only Elysian stood by their work, warranty or not, and if only they cared about very valid concerns expressed by past clients, I wouldn't have all this to deal with now. Again: CONSUMER BEWARE!

From the beginning, Austin was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient. Solar can be overwhelming if you're new to it (financing, system design, timelines, installation steps, etc.), but Austin took the time to walk us through the entire process and answer all our questions thoroughly. One of the biggest reasons I'd recommend him is that he helped us compare leasing vs. purchasing in a way that was clear and practical -- not salesy. He really listened to what we wanted and what made sense financially for us. That level of honesty and service is rare. Even after the sale process, Austin continued to be supportive and responsive. Overall we're very happy with our decision and grateful for the customer service we received. Highly recommend Solar Energy World -- and definitely ask for Austin Altman if you can.

We got panels installed in fall 2025 and got the system turned on in January. Greg answered a million questions and has continued to be our liaison and advocate. They under promised our production and have over delivered on our pepco savings. However, our roof was in rough shape but instead of letting us know that we shouldn't get panels before fixing the roof they said it would be fine and when we replace the roof in ten years they will remove and reinstall the panels for free under warranty. So after some big rains we realized we had roof leaks. Now the leaks were not coming in directly where they installed the panels, just close by. Our roof never had issues before, but with a bunch of guys climbing and hammering into it, there was bound to be issues. Without going into excruciating detail, the sales team has been great but the customer service from the company is lacking unless you get harsh with them. Having to wait 4 months to get panels reinstalled after getting a new roof, the techs not labeling the electrical so reinstall did not go smoothly, and two electrician visits because the first one didn't connect all the panels did not leave us impressed with the service. Finally all is resolved, but it's been a roller coaster. After everything my main takeaway is to make sure your roof is in really good shape before installing solar.

I even bought a thermometer to prove to myself that it was that hot and I wasn't crazy. Well, there was a 10 degree difference and it made sleeping difficult. So, I gave Efficient Home Llc (EH) a call and they came to my home for an energy audit. The audit was $350 and basically included a walk-through of the living spaces, attic, exterior and a 'fan test' to see how much air was seeping into the house. The rep. was really nice and seemed very knowledgeable. He made a few suggestions, but the biggest one was to get insulation added into the attic. Also, I have vaulted ceiling in the upstairs rooms and the rep. pointed out that they create a 'knee wall' in the attic and that special attention would be paid to that. Well, we signed some paper work to have the job done and their installers came out about 5 weeks later. The installation guys were very nice and let me closely investigate their work and made all the corrections I asked for. They installed special material for the knee wall and blasted in cellulose. They also sprayed everything with expanding foam. And I mean everything, a couple of times, they plugged some holes that I would have rather stayed open for easy access later if i need to service the wires that ran through them. Oh well. Success! My upstairs now is less than two degrees warmer than the rest of the house and even though it wasn't really my primary concern, my already modest electric bills have been about 25% less than last summer, but last summer was also hotter. Oh, and they even helped me to fill out my government rebate / utility paperwork. So, all in all, the people who came to my house I felt were very competent and paid close attention to detail and got me the results I wanted at a fair price. So, the -1 star is for the office people. They never called me about anything, I always had to call them. I had the work done some months ago, so I don't remember the details, but they never called me to tell me that everything was in place for an installation, and I called them two weeks later, and they were like "oh, we were going to call you... tomorrow... to schedule an appointment." Ya, right. At some point, I had to give them a final payment for the work, and I actually had to call them some time later and be like "Hello? Did you want to get paid?" So, I recall two times that I felt like my paperwork had fallen through the cracks and I had to call them to remind them I was a customer.
