I tried to get this service started. First I used the website to get a quote. I tried a couple months ago and never got a reply. Today I tried again and never got a reply. So I tried using their chat system. After giving them all my information, it said I was transferred to an agent. After a few "Hello?" and "Are you there?" comments, I gave up. So I called their phone number. After going through the prompts, they hung up on me without ever speaking a word. So I found a local number to call and was put on hold. I had their recycling service and was paying for twice a week pickup. I called to save money to have only once a week pickup. They told me to sign a DocuSign for the new rate without mentioning a three year contract. I signed it quickly then they raised the rate to be HIGHER than the 2x weekly pickup. Something in the contract said they can raise rate for basically any reason. Now they have me locked in for three years for MORE than the ORIGINAL rate I was originally paying for the 2x pickup and now I only have a 1x weekly pickup. THIS IS UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICE! My naibor keep putting her garbage on top of the rain drain for the street and I told her to stop she's refusing to stop and the drain is between our property dead center of our property and trash fall out of her garbage can and goes down the drain into our lake . I can see the liquid leaking out of her gas can into the drain . And trash on my property and she won't clean it up she's very dirty and sweeps the trash into the drain . Horrible company. I have been with them since 2018. Signed a contract for $78. They don't tell you it's for 5 years or that it automatically rolls over for another 5 years and then they don't tell you about all their hidden fees and all price gouging they are doing. Continuous missed pick ups have increased even after our rates were raised. When calling, the operator places the call on hold to verify with their dispatch department on the issue. When they come back, they always give the same answer, that the trucks were running behind. I requested a credit for the missed pick ups and the past 3 times I've called, I've been denied. My son loves the garbage truck so naturally as soon as we hear it outside we run out to watch him. Last week while we watched, the garbage man was loading our can into the truck and snapped our garbage can lid in half! The garbage man apologized and stated he will bring us a new can next week. Well, it didn't happen. I called Waste Connections to let them know and they said I am responsible to paying for a new one! And they no longer allow customers to purchase their own can, we are obligated to use theirs and pay a maintenance fee. The garbage man admitted the cans they use are "not very durable". Once they get their tentacles into you it is impossible to extract yourself from their contracts. One star is too much Waste Connections is the company who is supposed to collect the trash from our property and I pay them every quarter to do so. When I first moved to this property three years ago I called them and was told there was no service out here, so we took our trash to the dump ourselves until about a year ago, when I saw one of my neighbors had service. I called and inquired and the lady on the phone said they didn't t realize new owners were here and that the previous account holders never paid their bill so they refused me service, as well. Even though I had told them I just bought the house and wanted a new account. Since I have acquired this "service" these people have made the biggest mess of the lane I live on and my yard. They also do weird things with our trash cans that makes no sense at all. They haven't picked up our trash in over a week now - a frequent occurrence with them - yet I just paid another bill.... Reaching out to them does no good and there aren't any other companies that come out here. read more

Every week it gets worse. They are more than happy to take my money but fail to pick up on the schedule they have set ! I only need one bin every 2 or 3 wks but never a senior discount. When I do put the bin out, it is hit or miss whether Waste Connections picks up at all. No notice, no explanation, no one to pick up the phone at the office. Deceptive Practices, avoid this company at all costs. If you have a non residential service (large dumpster), this company locks you into a 60 month agreement (see photo). It automatically renews for 60 additional months and has provisions in it that reset the five years (60 Months) if you change any part of the service, although in another part of the agreement it clearly states that you can do it. On the phone they say you cannot get service if you don't sign their renewal agreement. Its a ripoff and I will never do business with them again. After having shopped around I found several vendors who offer the same services at much lower prices, however they are aware of the deceptive practices and advise you to review your agreement with Waste Connections. Upon review there appeared to be exit strategies, however, WC has it in the agreement that you must pay a 6 month penalty to terminate. Also built into their (one sided ) agreement, you must follow some pretty specific steps to advise them of termination (see Photo) , The idea is to lock you up for ever. In that same agreement, they allow themselves to pass on virtually any expense they incur giving the customer no recourse but to pay it. Its dirty dealing at every step of the way. If you want to be mistreated and ripped off, this is the place to go. I was blown away when I came to yelp to advise others of this company and how they treat even the corporate customers by the other reviews all being negative. And not just a little negative, a lot. It is not a coincidence that you don't see any customer service people attempting to address the comments made here. This company appears to feel untouchable and does not need to treat its customers properly. I have been a customer with this company for at least 5 years, possibly longer, I don't remember. Even with prices increasing on everything I have always paid my bills, though sometimes late. In the worst cases, I have occasionally had my service terminated and had to pay a $25 reconnecting charge. I was behind recently and got a call about the bill late in September, then received a letter that same or the next day saying I needed to pay. I went online and made a payment, paying in full, the next day (only 1-2 days after the first letter) I received a notice my service was terminated. Thinking it was a mistake and since I paid in full everything seemed fine. Trash was still picked up 1-2 times per week and my recycling was as well for the next three weeks. Then, on Monday last week, the company came to take my trash and took my whole bin, destroying it in their garbage truck. No only is this a waste, but there was no other notice about my service, that I confirmed when I called was terminated (from three weeks earlier). Apparently this was over the $25 reconnect fee and there were no additional calls, requests, or any courtesy whatsoever after I was terminated. They refused to reconnect me without the fee, I let them know I didn't feel they were treating their customer kindly and due to the treatment asked that they waive the fee, they would not. I have now moved on to another company that appears to care about their customers. Keep this in mind if you are reading this and thinking about using this company. read more

Unfortunately debris fell from one of their trucks yesterday and damaged the front end of my vehicle. I reported this to the company and spoke with a supervisor named Sean. While he was cordial he was unable to help as he said they required dash cam footage in order to settle any claim. I tried to get the drivers attention after the collision from the material that came from the truck but to no avail. Extremely disappointed in how this was handled and their protocol. The tarp is obviously rolled up while driving and they seem certain their can was empty when it obviously was not. The damage was witnessed as I drove. It could have been more dangerous had I switched to avoid the debris more etc. The failure to take accountability or to offer a reasonable solution is left much to be trusted with such a company and I would not entrust my business with them as a result. First off-they leave trash behind in the bin, in your yard or in the street. Very messy and they don't care . But my main complaint-THEY ARE THIEVES. I called 2 months ago and started service because I didn't have any garbage pickup. I gave my card information and set up service. They charged my card. Started picking up my trash....Now, 2 months later, I get a call from them saying I OWE $99. I call Waste Connections and I'm told "you owe for the past 2 months of service". Ummm no? I paid that when I set up service. Hence why they started service in the first place. YOU PREPAY! So how do I owe them $99 when this is a prepay service and they've been collecting my trash for 2 months?? This is the worst trash collection company there is. They throw your garbage pail lids in road , leave garbage pail in road as well to get run over.. refuse to pay for. Dump some of your trash all over your property and seem to have a monopoly on your area so that you will not be able to get another company. They have bad reviews and a lot of complaints but county will not do anything about it. Sometimes they don't even show to pick up the trash and do not refund towards days they do not pick up. Stay away from this company. Along with having a 1 star rating on Yelp they are the worst at customer service. Our bill was passed due and got a letter stating our trash was not to be picked up until it was paid. Ok. No big deal. So we call two Fridays ago (7/2) and pay the bill. Customer service assures us that our Trash will be picked up on Monday morning which is one of our regular trash days. Monday comes and not only did they take our trash buy they took the trash can as well. Monday was a holiday so we couldn't call the office but called them the next day on Tuesday. They then apologize about taking the can and offered the excuse that it takes 2 days to update their system so that's why they took the can. They Did not mention that when they said to put our trash out for Monday. During that call they told us that it will take 5-7 business days to get a trash can out to us. Umm okaaay. Seems kinda weird it takes that long to get your trash can back to you but whatever. Now here it is Thursday (7/15) and still no trash can. We call them up today and now it's gone from 5 to 7 days to 7 to 10 days. Seriously Waste Connections?? It really takes that long for your company to drop of a trash can? Kinda pathetic. I have used Waste Connections for over 20 years and recently had new neighbors move in next door to me (Lake Valencia neighborhood) and had a conversation with them about how much they were paying. I was told $38.00 a month. I was shocked because I was paying $74.77 a month! Yes I said a month!!! I called the company and asked why and for a reduction, they told me because I had been a customer for so long that is why I was paying a higher price and took off Fuel charge and Environmental charge which amounted to $11.97 but would not adjust my basic service charge of $56.11... this did not make sense to me. I would think customer loyalty would come into play but that had no bearing on how much I was being charged. I have cancelled my service and found another service for $91.05 a Quarter. So $30.35 a month! I am saving $577.00 a year just mad it took me this long to figure this price gouging out!!! read more
