My review is specifically for the Bagster Dumpster Bag service, which we ordered for a property in Natick. I saw these big green bags at Home Depot and the concept seemed pretty great, but I was hesitant after reading reviews on Yelp saying it was unreliable. I'm here to report on how it went. We tried the Bagster Dumpster Bag because it was the most cost-efficient method in our area for removing a LOT of concrete. Local businesses were quoting about $400+ to get rid of our crap, but the Dumpster Bag would cost us about $200. So we loaded up the bag in our driveway. We scheduled a pick-up and waited. Now it wasn't fast, I'll tell you that, so if you need your bag gone by a precise date this may not be the service for you. We scheduled our pick-up for a day, and the bag was picked up about 8 days later. That's about all I can report. No mess, no problems, just a little bit of a wait and worry that they wouldn't come. But they did. Yay! You do have to make sure the bag isn't under a tree or power lines, because a giant crane needs to be able to scoop up your bag. You also can't put yard waste and branches in the bag. If you break their rules, they won't pick up your bag. Basically, don't be stupid and your order won't get ignored. read more

I recently had waste management pick up some items, I wasn't aware that they used a contractor. The contractor was from New Hampshire and hit my car reversing up Raymond Street I spoke with Stephen from Waste Management gave him all the information including a witness and I was told today that they will not cover because it is a he said she said situation. after damaging the lid on my trash can by their automated pickup service, they did not repair or acknowledge my messages for months. The lid was broken in half, and open to the rain. After submitting a service request to repair they responded in two weeks by taking my trash roller can! So I am bagging my trash in the garage until the next pickup. I have GREAT guys who go out of their way for us. The problem is with the local office because for more than 2 years, they have REFUSED to utilize the Customer Notification System that WM talks about. Service is rescheduled without ANY NOTIFICATION. Today they showed up 4 1/2 hours early (look at my service history!!) and no trash was out because of the expected wind and rain from Hurricane Idalia. I needed to cancel my business trash pickup after selling the property. OMG - what a nightmare!! It took a week of constant calling to make it happen. Agents were not polite, unwelcoming, unknowledgeable of process, and impatient. UNKNOWLEDGEABLE: Three people gave three different answers to cancel the service: 1) Gave me an email to send the request, where I received a response to call the same number I called earlier. 2) Told me that only account manager can cancel and she'll call me back, which she never did for 3 days. 3) Finally, after insisting that I want to speak to someone in her department one agent did it right away. Unwelcoming/Not Polite/Impatient 1) First agent kept asking me my name to verify the account, which was wrong question. She needed to ask me profile name which was different from my name. Instead of trying to understand the issue, she kept telling me that I need to talk to account owner. I asked if she could help me where to look for the account owner name on WM website, she kept saying "I need to know since I setup the account". During this discussion it got heated up for no reason. Finally, I found the profile name and then she said that's correct. It was like a trick question to figure out to close the account. Then she gave me an email to cancel the account, I asked her, if you had to give me an email to cancel the account, why you wasted so much time talking through my name?? During different transfers, agents were trying to get ride of me instead of trying to help as a customer. They are trained to be efficient for their call and end asap. WM is missing the whole point that, I used up 7 agents and more than 2 hours to cancel the account, which means they spent 2 hours of time which I believe should be a straight forward cancel option on the website????? Worst customer service experience, I wish there were other providers in my area to switch, may be that's why they don't care because they have monopoly :( read more

My bill was $335.00 per quarter considering that the service was not as stellar as it used to be and the bill was so high I called around and found a local company that would pick up my trash for $145.00. When I called to cancel the woman on the phone stated that she could lower my bill to $174.00, wait WHAT! So unless you call and try to cancel you get screwed. Additionally they will not refund you for services that you have paid for but not yet received. The manager that called me back basically said we don't have the time to review everyone's bill. This company is a joke. What they call customer service isn't acceptable. The staff I spoke to was rude, unhelpful and snotty. Think the waiter from Ferris Bueller. They quoted some rules that sounded weird and I asked where I could find them, beyond saying on the website and "I'm SURRRRRE you can find them." I would give them a ZERO if I could. I called them, per Medfords trash rules, 3 weeks ago to schedule them to pick up some old furniture the week of August 18. I scheduled for August 23rd and they never showed. I called hem again to tell them they were a no show and rescheduled for today, August 30. The NO SHOWED AGAIN. This has been the absolute worst experience dealing with a company. First they take payment out quarterly in advance. I had no pick up at the scheduled time and had to make phone call after phone call. I even spoke with management and Chad assured me my trash would be picked up the next day. Never happened. I spent hours trying to get things straightened out with this company. Finally, I canceled and was told I would get refunded the paid time. That was February 16, 2021. I contacted them today and they said there is nothing they can do until the new statements come out in April and are basically holding my money hostage. Do not use the Bagster service. Things are so bad for them that they are deleting bad reviews on their website. Scheduled pickup for 6/7, didn't show up until 6/17. When they arrived told me they couldn't get the bag because my driveway wasn't parallel with the fence. When I showed the driver the diagram that came with the bag they said "we know they're wrong, and working with upper management to get them corrected. they won't listen." I was charged 50$ for the driver to show up and refuse to take it. Spoke to customer service and they said they would refund me after they spoke to their supervisors and would call me back. Five days later no call and the pending charge has now gone through. I spoke to a local junk removal place who charged me 200$ to remove the bag - compared to the 285$ bagster charges. I have no idea how this company is still in business, but I feel foolish for not reading reviews before I called them. Do yourself a favor and search "junk removal near me" because one truck load, the same as this bag can contain, costs LESS to have 2-3 guys come load the truck FOR you and take it away same day. read more

As if Waste Management rating couldn't get lower...I was at a stop sign at 11:30 am today (5/29/24) on Old Kennett Rd. and Owls Nest Rd. I was at stop sign on Old Kennett Rd. about to turn right on Owls Nest. The driver of truck # 213263 was on my left on Owls Nest turning right on Old Kennett and did not want to wait for me to turn but instead decided it was his turn to take a right turn (it wasn't) that he could not physically make in his truck with me waiting my turn at the stop sign. He decided to turn into my car and force me to reverse with him inching into the front of my vehicle the entire time. I mean literal inches from my front bumper, pushing me back. Luckily there was no one behind me. When I put my hands up saying "what was I supposed to do", the driver mocked me. It was not his turn, not his right of way, and instead he bullied me with his massive truck and forced me to back up on a road. I tried to call Waste Management but if you don't have an account number you don't get to speak with anyone. If drivers act like this on the road just imagine how much they care about picking up your trash or care about the state of your trash receptacles. Choose any other company please! I have switched to another trash removal service because quite frankly their rates have nearly doubled in the past five years and I was paying nearly twice what my neighbors were paying a different company. But the main reason I am writing this is that I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in order to cancel my service through them. Called customer service multiple times and if my phone call wasn't dropped when I got to a customer service rep I was told cancellation was handled by a different department and put back on hold. I waited over an hour on hold just to have the call dropped. The last time I got through to customer service I was told I would receive a call back within 72 hours by someone who could cancel my account, but I wasn't called until 8 days later by someone replying to my Better Business Bureau complaint. read more

Be careful with this company. Once you are locked into a contract they will add charges and increase/add fees. Breaking a contract is an onerous and expensive process unless you are able to inform them during the small window that shows up in the fine print. When we were moving we had a POD in our driveway without a problem. After we moved the POD we put a bagster there. When they were supposed to pick it up they didn't notify me that they didn't pick it up because of a tree and charged me an additional $50. I do not live at that address anymore so without the neighbors I would have no idea it was still there. When calling customer service I got ran around for an hour being transferred and hung up on. I use them for trash removal at my rental home. The dumpster gets picked up as scheduled. Their website is fairly easy to navigate and pay my bills on it. Their customer service on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired. Every time I have a problem that needs the help of an actual human, it takes at least two phone calls to resolve the problem. My primary complaint is about their FALSE ADVERTISING as it relates to when they say they will pick up the Bagster. Today is Thursday, September 10, 2015 and I (my company) just scheduled my 30th Bagster Collection since May 2015. Here is how it works: Picture #1: The promise is bold red letters is: "We will collect your Bagster bag and all of its contents within 3 business days from your bag ready date." My Bagster is ready right now, today (9/10/2015)! So ... allowing for pickup only on business days ... my Bagster should be pickup up on or before the end of Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Right? NOoooo! Picture #2: Next you go to the calendar to select your Bag Ready Date ... but the FIRST date they let you select is Thursday, September 17, 2015 ... SEVEN DAYS after my actual Bag Ready Date! So ... allowing for pickup only on business days ... my Bagster should be pickup up on or before the end of Monday, September 21, 2015. Right? NOoooo! At this point in the process, I am not very happy. My pickup has gone from the promised (bold red letters, remember) 3 days to now 7-11 days. BUT WAIT ... THERE'S MORE... So ... I select the first date they allow me to select (seven days from now) and what do I see next? A pop up window with the following... Picture #3: In big green letters "We'll be there within three business day" Which we now know is actually 12 real days. Then they confirm in regular black lettering "We will collect your Bagster bag on September 17, 18, or 21." THAT'S STILL NOT ALL! On the same little popup window ... in little red lettering ... it says "And your bag will be collected within five business days." So now we are looking at a pickup of September 23rd! 13 Days after my REAL bag ready date!!! And to be fully clear ... this has been the exact same timeline and process for ALL 30 of my Bagsters! In FIVE months they have not made a single correction to their false timeline. To add insult to injury, in this five months, they HAVE changed a few words (In May, they 5 day pickup was blamed on the winter storms, now it is just blamed on overwhelming demand). IF they can change that wording then they could have easily changed all the other locations where they promise 3 day to 5 days or 13 days! What SHOULD they do (In my humble opinion): 1. First and foremost, they should be honest and real! "Your Bagster and it's contents will be picked up between 7 and 13 days after you notify us" At least that way I could plan accordingly. 2. Just the worst - I wish I had checked Yelp before scheduling my Bagster Pickup. The Bagster site will tell you your bag will be picked up in 3 days - it won't. Apparently there is some tiny fine print stating that it may be more like 5 days... or more, just read the other reviews below. I used the online chat tool on the last day of my scheduled pickup window to confirm it would be picked up that day - rep confirmed it would NOT be. Got a bit of a run around from customer service, so I picked up the phone and called. Same response, so I cancelled the order, requested a refund and called Junkster saving $20 and working with a company with a 48-Hour pickup window, and much better online reviews. Took several tries to schedule as the website kept having issues. The driver showed up parkled in the sidewalk, walked to the bag, walked back to the truck. Sat there for a few minutes and left. I have not read the reviews, but shouId have. This is a major scam for them to create extra revenue without providing a service since I was informed via email there was an issue with my bag. i tried to call them and was on hold for 45 min when I gave up. Please do not buy this product. We had a bagster last year and it was picked up with no problem. We put the bag in the exact same location this year and they drove by and refused to pick up. We were in the yard at the time and they didn't even have the decency to stop and explain the issue. We called and moved the bag per their instructions. They cancelled and rescheduled our pick up three days in a row. They finally came and then still were not satisfied with the location and drove away without any input again. As a reminder we had a successful pickup in the past. Waste management will not refund our money and we had to call 1-800-junk to clean up the mess (after it sat in the curb for SEVEN days). The first attempt apparently came before 6:00 a.m. the driver never left the truck. Received no communication from Waste management for 2 days so I contacted them. I was told the driveway was too narrow when in fact it meets the specifications they outlined. Was told to expect a new driver the next day, between the HOURS OF 5 A.M. AND 7 P.M.....THAT'S RIGHT AN ENTIRE DAY! Guess what the second driver never shows(home all day like everyone else ). Again no communication. Receive an email the next day, Saturday at 11:00 am to expect a driver on Saturday. Guess what , that's right no show. Waste Management is a Waste of time and probably money, I'm out $90.00 the price of the bag and a $50.00 delivery charge and I still need to get rid of my junk!!! read more

We have worked with Waste Management in many states and cities over the past 15 years with mixed results but manageable for the most part. This year however we have experienced the worst service in my 30 years of construction management! Typically a 20 or 30 yard construction waste container is on "will call" for service and on average lead time has been 2 to 4 days in every market over the last 25 years. This year in several markets the lead time is 3 or 4 weeks with very poor service when a driver final does show up. Every excuse to not service the container imaginable and if they decide not to haul we are back to square one with 3 or 4 week lead time!!!! Who can do business like this! WHen we call to complain or ask for service correction for missing the pickup we are told there is nothing they can do and it is a very busy market. Clearly a business failure if they have not added trucks and drivers to meet demand in over a year! One star because there is no option for zero! Any other option is more productive and less frustrating than working with Waste Managements complete customer service failure. read more
