My original review was reflected in several reviews since my interaction with this company with Mary continuing in the office. I was hoping to read sincerely better reviews consistently as of 2025. Instead I realize I got caught in apparently one of Water & Mold Away USA's staffing issues. Additionally my dog got put on the west deck by them with no water for the most bizarre of reasons on the hottest day of the year. Nothing short of a solid apology with a major discount for the damage would settle me which never occurred. I was threatened legally though. We experienced a toilet gone bad. It flooded the upstairs water closet and caused leakage through the floor to the first floor. Tom came by and quoted the job. This was an insurance issue. Tom can talk fast and he moved his equipment into the house before we decided to choose him or get a second opinion. In the end we chose him and have no reason to doubt his expertise on the removal of damaged flooring, drying of the house, etc. His workers were professional, efficient and took measures to make sure the house was kept neat. The reconstruction part of the process is a separate element and Tom was estimating general turnaround times of about 4 weeks. This was for about 2 sheets of drywall, paint, several hundred sq ft of flooring and a new toilet. In addition we were informed that all of the furniture in the effected areas would have to be removed from the house and stored, while work is done. That's rediculous and smacks of shadiness. I am not a contractor but I've seen an entire house re-carpeted in two days without a single possession being removed from the building, I've seen drywall done in a day. Needless to say we did not consult with Tom on the reconstruction element of the job. The cost would would be astronomical, the inconvenience and disruption unacceptable. My parents told me and I always tell those who will listen; MONEY DOESN'T GROW ON TREES. Tom and his crew are the BEST in the business. I have a rental in Hemet, CA and the house was completely flooded. Every inch was wet. The leak in the refrigerator (water line to ice machine) started on a Wednesday night and my tenant was out of town (this was not the tenants fault). On Thursday the gardener called and left a message that water was coming out the front door and he turned the water off. I didn't get the message until Friday morning. Water & Mold Away USA, Inc were highly recommended by a friend. I called Tom late Friday afternoon and by the time I got to Hemet (2 hour drive) Tom's crew was there and three of his trucks ~ doing what they do BEST ~ taking care of business. By 10pm - all the carpet was out, walls were tested, everything documented and pictured, all of the tenants things were inventoried, pictured, and mostly stored away until the storage container arrived the very next day. When the tenant came back in town and needed something out of the storage unit (parked out front of the house) - they knew exactly where and what box it was in. Tom and his crew were AWESOME and very professional. They took care of EVERYTHING - dry cleaned the tenants clothes that were soaked, rip out all the dry wall and replaced it, new carpet, new paint, ripped out the old title and installed all the new title flooring, and moved everything back in. Tom even dealt with the insurance company. I seriously can go on and on about how GREAT Water & Mold Away USA, Inc is but I think you get the point. We have had a relatively small water heater failure. The Water & Mold Away crew had done some work for a neighbor, and he was very pleased with their services, so I gave them a call. Within the hour, a crew was onsite. They quickly cleaned up the mess, hooked us up with a great local plumber, removed the damaged drywall and started the drying process. Meanwhile the plumber got the water heater rigged temporarily so we could still use it while the drying was taking place. Water & Mold Away worked directly with my insurance, even meeting the adjuster at our home to ensure they were all on the same page with respect to the needed repairs. After drying, the Water & Mold Away crew repaired the water heater stand/support and adjacent affected walls. By the time they were finished, my garage was better than before the flood. The flood started on Saturday after a pipe burst, and they showed up the same day, working until 10:30 at night. They then came back to continue working the next day. THIS IS YOUR SOLUTION TO A ONE TIME SHOP EXPERIENCE THAT IS FAST, PROFESSIONAL, REASONABLE IN PRICE, SAFE, COMMITTED TO YOU, AND WILL MANAGE YOUR INSURANCE CLAIM AS WELL. LOOK NO FURTHER, HELP HAS ARRIVED. This company is the Absolute Best at what they do. It is a nightmare if you don't call them. At 9:30 pm at night on a Wednesday I called and spoke to Mary, who was an angel just trying to deal with me after 3 days of me on my own, trying to coordinate this mess of a situation. Mary was so kind & calming, and so helpful and said she would send out her crew the next morning. She was sending Tom, another angel. He showed up on time, very professional, put me at ease right away, and had his team in tow in about 15 minutes. They would begin the process from beginning to end. First they test the area for mold, and measure how wet the area is, which will give you an idea of how bad the mold likely is. Then they will contain the area, this means no use of the area contained. In this case, it was my kitchen. They managed to leave me enough room to use my microwave, fridge and coffee maker, but the rest of the area was completely sealed off, including front door access and the downstairs bathroom. Then they "clean the contained area" by removing the drywall, the insulation, the wood for contamination, and utilize a unit that kills and cleans the mold, all this while they are in haz mat suits. This is a serious situation. What is interesting is seeing as well the extent of the mold growth that you cannot see behind the wall, shocking. After about 5 days (could be less time, mine was longer due to size and damage) they came back out to see if the area appeared clean and had the area tested to see if it was clean. This part of the test is done by an independent hygienist who is certified and hired by Tom. The man's name was Dave who did the testing, another nice guy who said I hired the best of the best, and he was right! So you should know we fast tracked the test due to other obligations that I had, and as a result we got the results a day later. We passed the test, No More Mold!!!! Now, while the area is clean, then I could have the plumber come out and now work on the leak and replace the pipe that was leaking in the wall, it is also easier for the plumber for the area is opened up and he does not have to remove the wall, therefore having easy access. Now we are ready for the rebuild. Tom's guys came back out (so nice too, their names are Bill and Damien, very respectful, great representative's for Tom, such a great team) and now they put up the drywall and the place is re shaping back to normal. The next day I meet with Martine who is the construction re build guy, and he too is such a nice guy and very professional. This company is VERY ACCOMODATING! He re built the cabinets and they of course looked better than ever. He put the dishwasher back, and then he re painted the entire kitchen for there were tape marks from the containment area once it was removed. All of this within a week and a half start to finish, and I did not even have to move out!!!!! Not to mention, they make it convenient for you to come and go with a lock box. I cannot say enough about HOW GREAT WATER AND MOLD AWAY USA IS!!!! Tom also corresponded with me along the way anytime I had questions or needed confirmation of status. Working with this company was an awful experience. They were called to mitigate a mold issue in my kitchen. They took care of the mold, to the best of my knowledge, but the repairs were terrible. In hind sight, I should have either don't the repairs myself or hired a licenced carpenter. The wall in question was under a sink and nothing was removed to access the wall. Instead they patched and plastered around a wall outlet and plumbing. Because they didn't remove the plumbing, a large hole was left exposed (approximately 9" x 3") where wood and insulation can be seen. Several attempts were made to have the worker return to finish the job but he said he couldn't come back until authorized to do so by the owner, which never happened. The only time I ever spoke to them was when they attempted to collect $3800 for the repairs. I obviously refused and he immediately took $600 off of the bill which was still way too much. We ended up removing the issue in small claims court. To my dismay I was ordered to pay $2500 for a job that probably cost no more than $300 in materials and labor. I could have gone to home depot myself and spent $30, and it would have at least looked like a finished product. Stay away from this company. They do sub par work and are way overpriced. read more

I don't know about any of these old negative reviews that I have read on Yelp, but I do know that Nora and her crew from Water & Mold Away USA came recommended to me by my brother, who had used them when his house flooded. After getting a couple of estimates I decided to give them a try. In just a short time they had the inside of my Moreno Valley rental house, which had been completely trashed, turned into a new home, and for just a fraction of what another company quoted me. They controlled the electrical, the plumbing, all the flooring (tile and carpet), painting, cam light installation, construction repairs, ceiling popcorn removal, and they also installed all the bathroom vanities and doors (closet and regular) that I had bought. Because of it's new condition I listed my rental house for sale at the high end of the comps (actually a bit higher) and in less than a week the sale is now pending. We had a shower leak which affected our downstairs living area, we called a different company before water away and they were very unprofessional and unable to answer any questions nor did they make any holes in the wall to allow the drying process, the next day I called water away and Tish was extremely helpful and sent someone down to access the problem. The guys that came immediately made the appropriate holes and set up their drying equipment. They were professional and knowledgeable and assisted my husband and I through the entire drying process. I live in the Temecula wine country, it's a beautiful area, but a bit far from the city. This is why when the pipe under my kitchen sink broke in the middle of the night and I didn't notice it until the next morning, I called Water and Mold Away USA. I'm not embarrassed to say that I was in a panic. The crew showed up at my house less than an hour later (incredible!). The guys began the clean-up immediately. I was so impressed with the speed that they cleaned the water, which had traveled from the kitchen all the way to the bedrooms. They set up dehumidifiers and fans where needed throughout the affected areas. Prior to their departure they cleaned their work area. I forgot to mention that the supervisor was a woman. I don't know if it's sexist to say that was the reason for the cleanliness, but as I watched her work and direct the techs, I know it made an impact. I'm not a sexist, I'm just a realist. Well, I would not do business with them again. I have a water damage claim and trying to close the case has taken longer than expected. My blood pressure has taken a toll due tot this company. They have a great team of people working for them who will do a descent job. if you hire them do your do diligence with the owners and understand their terminology as it changes at the end and make sure that you have your insurance advice you on the charges. They are greedy contractors. When you ask for final numbers you never get a straight answer. Finally, they do not follow up and make sure that the work is done. so if you are detailed, then find someone else. Customer service is below average!! we have called them over four times in the last two days to get issues resolved and not a call back. read more

I called this company out to take care of water damage to my rental. The work was started on April 8. There was a delay in completion due to poor workmanship. The owner should have checked out the property before having the walk through. He had his crew come back out and correct the issues. I had paid him 2/3 of of charges early into the work and the remaining balance was due when completed. Unfortunately, due to poor workmanship required a second walk through which had to be delayed as our tenants were in the process of being evicted for nonpayment of rent and it was extremely awkward to do another walk through with them in the house. It should be noted that we had insurance money to pay for his services, but until we were completely satisfied, the balance was not going to be paid. The room was finally completed on April 28th. In the meantime, the office called June 3 asking if we had received the results of the air sample test and never mentioned anything about the balance. I explained that I did pay their mold sampler person and received the results, and I explained that our tenants also had tests done and the tests did not coincide with their and because of that they were obtaining an attorney. The office said they would look into it the results and get back to me. June 4, 7:43 AM, I had a very unprofessional voice message left on my phone from the owner. His message was extremely threatening. He said if I didn't have a check for him by the end of the day he was taking legal action. He was not messing around and that my tenants warned him about me and he is now siding with them and will help them in any way if needed. I was thrown back as this was the FIRST time I had heard anything from him or his office since our 1st walk through (end of April) which held things up. His message sounded like I had been avoiding his calls, and requests for payment for months on end. VERY UPSETTING TO ME. Before I had heard the complete voice message, I immediately called his cell phone and left a message that this was the first I heard from him or his office and this was not my intention to not pay the balance, and he needed to call me ASAP. Minutes late I receive a phone call from his office with an apology that she completely misunderstood out conversation.I explained to her that I have not even been emailed or mailed a bill along with the requested before and after pictures of the work that was done. She admitted that the bills were sent to my rental address. This was extremely wrong as they had my email address and my home address. I am a business owner and know that there are always two side to every story; however, the office apologized but unfortunately the owner how left the unprofessional voice message has not made any attempt to apologize. I played the voice message to his secretary, which was very disturbing and upsetting to me, and she suggested that I don't listen to it again. I wish I could upload to this site for everyone to hear. For all the reasons above- poor workmanship and the unprofessional voice mail full of threats and undeserving accusations is reason to never use this company.
