As a testament to their skill, the final city inspection took all of about 20 minutes. Juan saved me money before even beginning the installation by recommending a different thermostat configuration than I had originally discussed with the main contractor. Duct runs in the tight attic space are installed with the highest level of care and craftsmanship. They were extremely diligent about managing dust and mess; the only sign that they had been in the house were the new vents in the ceiling. As an architect, I have the opportunity to work with a lot of different contractors. If I could give them 100 stars I would, because out of 19 years of home ownership and dealing with countless contractors and handymen, Amili was by far the best in terms of knowledge, experience, helpfulness, honesty, professionalism, and general human kindness and warmth. The previous few HVAC contractors I scheduled to look at our heater all said to replace the unit, which would cost at least $20K, and with the Trump tariffs, it would go up by $2K more. We were trying decide what to do but I gave this google nest suggestion a try, and it saved us! Amili showed me what was going on, which was just a filter issue (stupid us). The previous maintenance folks didn't do things correctly, and the contractors I got estimates from weren't honest! They just wanted a hefty project. We've only had the Tankless Water Heater for 3 weeks and can already see the savings on our PG&E bill. The cost of the upgrade to a Tankless Water Heater was less expensive than a new Hot Water Heater install. We moved into a condo where the HVAC units need to be compatible with the building's water systems and the prior owner went rogue and installed an unvetted unit. Beth, Samantha and the team at Cooper Hawkins were incredibly helpful in sorting out the issues (including getting engineering specs from the manufacturer), ordering a replacement unit, working with our HOA for approvals, loading dock, scheduling, etc. They are logistical wizards :-) The work done by Rauf, Don and the team has been top quality - they are professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and personable. Importantly, they really understand the inner-workings of the units they install and the buildings in which they must operate.
