My experience started with an onsite quote by Michael Stone. Michael was very knowledgeable and asked questions on what our goals are. This is my first experience with needing to replace an AC system, our last system was 25 years old. Michael was friendly and patient on answering all our questions and giving an honest answer and recommendation on what our options are. After scheduling, Ramiro and Vladimir came on schedule to remove the old system and install the new system. Everything went smoothly and accordingly to the estimated timeline. They recommended a new thermostat with the system, but I liked the existing Nest that we have because we have other google home products. A few weeks ago we received bad news that our 15 year old AC unit and 30 year old furnace needed to be replaced. The coil was leaking and they don't make replacement parts. We've had Paul over a few times to do general maintenance on our old system and he's fantastic. He's very knowledgeable, honest, and quick to diagnose issues. He's super nice too. We got our new system in today! The HVAC replacement process went smoothly. The installers were very meticulous and prompt. I really appreciate the fact that they said they'd be at our house at 9am and they were there at exactly 9am. They removed their shoes when they entered our house and even put tarps down to keep our floors clean. I appreciate this more than they know. After installing both machines, the installers made sure all trash was cleared away and everything was put back. They even painted our house where the old sub panel was! The machines are wonderful. We can already feel a huge difference. In terms of pricing-- no matter who you hire, it's expensive getting your system replaced but they are very diligent and they know what they are doing. They showed up for a free in-home estimate and helped us evaluate our options for a ductless mini-split in our bedroom. We are in Castro Valley and a few of us in our neighborhood have similar issues with ducting not pushing enough hot or cold air to the upstairs. Instead of trying to troubleshoot old ductwork, we opted for the mini split in our bedroom to provide us amazing air all year round. Alex and Zeke were on time and efficient on install day. Had a really good experience with Galaxy on a new heat pump plus gas furnace installation. Galaxy was the second second company I called after getting an estimate from a competitor. Unlike the first company, Eddie actually took the time to understand the set up and needs of my house to correctly size the system. Their sales tactics were not aggressive, and actually among the multiple system estimates they provided they recommended the cheaper option over the more expensive ones. Eddie even told me that my old system would last the summer, while the other company's tech told me my system was likely going to fail any day. I opted to go with Galaxy on a replacement, and I ended up getting a better system for several thousand less than if I had gone with the competitor. Eddie and Huma were the installation techs, they were timely, happy to answer questions, kept me informed on the job status, and kept my property tidy as they did their work. Eddie presented me with multiple thermostat options and patiently explained the pros & cons of each so I could make an informed decision. I decided to install a 5-ton Mitsubishi variable speed unit with 3 zones for my 2-story, 2500 sq ft house in the Peninsula (2 zones downstairs and 1 upstairs). From end to end, I had a pleasant, transparent, and smooth experience with Galaxy representatives. Constantine was a knowledgeable and responsive estimator. He provided me with all the pros and cons of different manufacturers and configurations and patiently answered all my questions. (My only minor complaint is that he far underestimated the amount of time it would take to do the install--saying it would take 2 days when it actually took 5 days). Peter the electrician did high quality work and paid attention to detail in installing a new sub-panel and EV charger. He also replaced my (very old) existing circuit breakers for free. I hired Galaxy to replace two heaters in my home. Ultimately I hired them because the price was right for the job. Great: - My service advisors, Sanny and Stephan, were patient, knowledgeable and very friendly. - My installers, Diego and Mike, were professional and respectful. What didn't go as well was communication with their main office and between their teams, after the contract had been signed and throughout installation. For example: - They didn't explain all the details to their installers, so when the installers arrived, they were confused about the state of the heater and were also missing a part, requiring a follow-up appointment. - The main office didn't follow up to confirm any appointments. In one instance, they showed up at my door when I wasn't available. - On one of the days, they canceled 10 minutes before the appointment without explanation. - After service was complete, I caught something on my contract that didn't appear to be serviced, and had to ask the office to have it removed from my bill. Overall service was fair and the price is right, just be aware that you might expect some rockiness in coordination and need to keep an eye out yourself for the details. read more

After a break in my residential gas service of 48 hours, I contacted Galaxy because I couldn't get the furnace to function properly even after service had been restored with the visit of a PGE technician. That was on Monday. It was winter, and the house hadn't been heated since Saturday, so I was anxious to get the problem diagnosed and repaired. Galaxy sent out a technician the next day (Tuesday), charging $59 for a diagnostic visit that would be applied to the cost of repair. And so it came to pass. Tim came within the service time window, spent two hours repairing and thoroughly testing the communication between the furnace and the thermostat, advised me on replacing the filter and the proper thermostat settings, and took a picture of my cat! I was alerted that a heating duct under the house needed to be replaced and that it was covered with asbestos. I contacted Galaxy about that while Tim was still working on the furnace and was given a time slot for a free diagnostic visit the following day. They're batting 1000 so far. read more

Galaxy were fantastic, they replaced our gas furnace and gas water heater with a heat pump and heat pump water heater. We had a pretty tricky install, as certain requirements had to be met to fit into the space to qualify for the rebates. Jeff from Galaxy was exceptionally patient with me - I like to do my own research and really dig down on the details of different brands and models and he was exceptionally responsive and thoughtful in his advice before we committed to the final plan. They were not the cheapest quote coming in, though still pretty competitive, but with their price match guarantee, they lowered it to match the other companies'. The heat pump install and electrical work were done expertly, the team knew exactly what they were doing and got it done in a complicated crawlspace where it's humming quietly away, keeping us warm in the cold and now we have a/c for the heat as well! Unfortunately with the water heater, there was a mix-up with the model that was installed. However Jeff was always ready to talk and to help manage the solution to the problem. Points too to Ivan for getting us to a final solution that we were all happy with. They got a lot of rebates for us, which helped keep the system affordable, though I was able to find a couple of extra small ones to bring it down even further. They also helped us navigate the GoGreen financing, which was also a very smooth process. I live in a condo and had to get approval from my HOA, which limited the options for installation significantly, but Michael at Galaxy worked with me patiently to find a solution. The connection between the indoor and outdoor unit was a bit of an unknown - we knew there was an unused vent we could use, but not exactly where it was.
