Our water didn't get warm one morning (taking a cold shower was horrible), and we called PG&E to see if it was something with the gas line, and they took a look and confirmed it wasn't. We then called Better Home, and they came by quickly to take a look and mentioned some stuff about our water heater, and we decided to get a new one since it was already 15 years old. They brought a new water heater and replaced it, and took our old one out. Super efficient. In regards to the price, it was what it was, but I looked up the water heater and it wasn't a super crazy markup to what they charged us plus labor, so I'm not complaining. read more

I had a very minor hint of gas smell near the earthquake emergency valve at the gas meter. I called PG&E to check it out and they confirmed a leak at the earthquake valve side so they shut off gas until I made the repair. Yaro responded to my quote request on Yelp and provided a quote based off my photo. He had a window available within the next hr and was able to identify and seal the earthquake valve elbow part better. I am thankful for his speedy repair and PG&E was able to come back same day to turn the gas back on. Yaro's rate was competitive and has a 1 year labor warranty. Yaro is the best. We had a leak under the sink at the junction of drain pipe and our garbage disposal, and he said he would come look at it for us without charging us yet. He told us that if we elect to have him work on it, there's a $250 minimum fee, which we ok'd. When he pulled it apart, he found a piece of metal. (Another plumber had tried to diagnose this from our video and said we needed a new disposal motor. Seemed excessive off the bat.) After forty years our KWC shower valve/mixer no longer completely shut off the flow of water. A small leak, but a leak nonetheless. After a false start with a different plumbing contractor I called Yaro. He replied promptly, did research and discovered that parts were no longer available for our old valve. He sourced a new valve, cut through the sheet rock behind the shower, removed the old valve (a process complicated by some odd carpentry behind the sheet rock), installed the new valve and repaired the sheet rock. Yaro at Better Home Plumbing is my go-to plumber! I first reached out to him when an anti siphon valve in my backyard was leaking. Yaro replaced the old valve promptly and reliably. I later reached out to Yaro to repair and reconnect some gas pipes after PG&E did some emergency disconnects for a gas leak. Yaro did proper testing and discovered that reconnecting the pipes to the very old gas-powered swimming pool heater would cause more leaks due to wear on the old pipes that were underground. He outlined some options for me (including replacing the old pipes), and I was able to choose the lower cost option of leaving those pipes disconnected. (I primarily depend on pool solar for heating the swimming pool.) Since then, Yaro has continued to reliably address my plumbing needs like installing a new kitchen faucet and garbage disposal.
