I originally purchased a bed from Water Beds N Stuff back in 2008. Long story short, late January 2014 I had a problem with the Spring Air mattress, so I called Water Beds at the East store and spoke with the manger of the store on how to go about this. I immediately received a call from Mark, (The General Manager) on how he would handle the warranty & said give me 24-hours, he called the very next day. Spring Air would not warranty their mattress. When he found out about what was going, he promised me, he would make things right. Well he did, (now keep in mind, I understand WNS can't just give me a free mattress 7 years later but just short of that) not only did he go above and beyond any of my expectations, I am a 100% satisfied customer but more importantly, a customer for life. Big thanks to everyone at Water Beds N Stuff that made this unfortunate situation of mine right!!! This company stands behind their customers & products even years later after the sale, that's how good they are. I bought the Boyd 920 Latex Mattress, I'll keep everyone updated a year later but the 1st night was a amazing nights sleep :-) read more

History

Established in 1972.

Waterbeds 'n' Stuff was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1972, but the story starts a few years earlier. Founder Gerald Spero launched a wholesale smoke shop and counterculture supply business in 1969, operating it out of his apartment under the name The Warehouse. It grew fast. His biggest retail customer was a waterbed store that also carried the counterculture merchandise Gerald supplied. The partnership made sense, and in 1972 the two businesses merged and Waterbeds 'n' Stuff was officially incorporated, opening its first storefront on North High Street across from Ohio State University. Gerald bought out his original partner not long after and became sole owner. By the late 1970s, a wildly popular marketing campaign had earned him the nickname "Crazy Jerry," a name Columbus still remembers. Over the following decade, the company grew to 13 locations across Central Ohio. More than 50 years later, Waterbeds 'n' Stuff is still Columbus's original smoke shop.

As it is part of the TJX companies it still means that the store is a gamble when it comes to brands and sizes found. However, it makes a great starting point as you can easily search their site to see if there are other sizes, colors, etc available. Don't have a tiny pocket computer (aka a smart phone)? There's no need to fret! In store they even have a kiosk where you can search their online stock. My only real dislike of the physical store is that as of right now they do not accept the countless coupons that come to my email address. This may change soon as an employee recently told me that they would start honoring them. Until then, I will still order the bulk of my purchases from the website so I can use the frequent STP coupons. With the store so close it's super easy to return to the store with no hassle. This is extremely helpful when ordering shoes online as some outdoor brands use variations of European sizing that allow for greater fit specification. Recently I ordered two pairs of a boot to see if they would work for my job. Having a low volume super narrow foot they did not but, with the painless returns it was no problem. I even lucked out and found the perfect pair in store!
