I had a great time out on the water thanks to Waterfront Adventures. The boat that they rented us was really nice and was super convenient with out the hassle. We didn't even have to dock our boat, just get close enough for one of the staff members to hop on. The staff was awesome at walking us through the safety information and made sure that we got the most for our rental time. They were super friendly and ensure that you are prepared for a fun day on the water. A few things to mention, they did not have rentals for tubes or wakeboards, so if you want to do those activities you'd have to buy your own before hand. The shop also advises you to be 30 mins early for your reservation, and I would recommend doing so, as the safety demo will ebb into your rental time. read more

I had a reservation with this rental company, but on the day of my rental, the weather turned bad, making it unsafe to be on the water. I called in advance and politely asked if my morning reservation could be moved to the late afternoon. The manager told me they were fully booked and couldn't accommodate the change. While on the phone, I checked their website and saw that all time slots were available. When I pointed this out, she still refused to help and insisted that I either use the jet ski or lose my money, regardless of the weather conditions. Since they couldn't assist me, I decided to go to the location to avoid losing my money. I completed all necessary safety paperwork, but my credit card was declined multiple times for the $2500 damage deposit. The manager said she couldn't rent the jet ski without this deposit and offered me a gift card for a future rental or the option to cancel without a refund. I eventually managed to get my card to work and paid the security deposit, which took about 30 minutes. By the time I went to see my jet ski, the weather had worsened with rain, wind, and distant lightning. I decided it was unsafe to go on the water and returned to the manager to request the gift card she had offered earlier. She then claimed she couldn't issue it due to their 7-day cancellation policy, despite having offered it just 10 minutes earlier when my card wasn't working for the deposit. She reiterated that they had no weather exceptions and that I had to use the jet ski or lose my money. I expressed my safety concerns and refused to go on the water. I noticed that all the jet skis were still available at that time. The staff, especially the managers, were very rude. They answered every question I had without any pushy sales tactics. It's clear they take pride in their gear; I watched them meticulously clean and inspect paddles, boards, and life vests as I walked in. Definitely made me feel confident that anything I did rent would be well-maintained and safe. A friend invited us to go with them on the 7~9 passenger boat. Ended up being around $500 total incl tax and fuel for two hours on the weekend. Checkin was a bit slow since they only had a window open, and you have to fill out forms for each person in your party. The staff were polite and helpful and walked the drivers through how to navigate, which was pretty simple. We were able to park in the P-2000 garage, close to the doors that lead straight out to their booth. It was free passage? Not sure if that's normal, from the website it seemed like it shouldn't be free on weekends, but I'm not complaining. Otherwise, retail will give you 2 hr validation. The boat itself seemed well kept and clean. Great view on the water and even though it's September, the water wasn't too cold since there was still a little bit of sun. Great experience, will probably do this more often in the future. Much easier than owning your own boat :) read more

I was going to go point by point on all the misinformation shared by the manager in his 630 word review. But at the end of the day, I shared some feedback with him directly, that his staff had us standing around for 15 minutes for no reason other than disorganization, and we were delayed getting into the water, costing us 20% of our rental time x 3 jet skis. I never asked for money back, or discount, or anything. Just relayed this wasn't ideal and was disappointed. How he responded then and now on Yelp shows me they doesn't know how to handle feedback very well. He continues to claim issues I didn't make, and I think he still doesn't understand why our group had a poor customer experience. Despite their jet skis being great and fast and roomy. Their service, and subsequent responses are really problematic. Also, I'm not sure why he made up several claims in his response. But they are all not true. My girlfriend and I rented a Waverunner and it was a great experience all around. THE BOOKING PROCESS The online rental process is quick and easy. All their small print vis a vis damage, cancellation policies, etc. is all clearly spelled out clearly and transparently. Once you book a reservation you get an email with a link to all the required waiver paperwork, the forms for which can be completed online. The only paperwork we had to do was a temporary boater's license which took like 30 seconds, and that includes reading the whole thing. THE STAFF First off, every single staff member we encountered, which was at least four or five of them were professional, very friendly, engaging, and welcoming. Just all around proactive. The guy who gave our briefing, and I feel like a dick for not catching his name, gave us a great primer on the Waverunner, but also gave us some best practices, places to check out based on his own experience. You get the feeling that the staff sincerely wants you to have a fun time on the water. THE GEAR Based on the Waverunner we rented and what I could see of the rest of their fleet. Everything seemed brand new, or at least looked that way. Their maintenance is en pointe. PRICING Their rates surprisingly affordable, even if you don't consider the cost of the boats, etc., prime Kirkland waterfront property, and a fairly large staff. I shopped other rental places that were closer to where I live and every one of them seemed way more expensive and had a lot of barriers to actually getting on the water. Ever since moving back to the beautiful Northwest I have wanted to try kayaking. So me and the hubby were finally able to make the time and we were so glad we did. I called ahead and reserved a double kayak. They were very helpful on the phone and their website is pretty detailed. The location is beautiful and we reserved for two hours - since we had no idea how long it would take us to figure out how to use the kayak. How convenient is it to have a beautiful waterfront close to home and be able to rent jet skis or boats? The boats are not propelled so wake surfing is great. We booked a boat for the day by phone and when we arrived the process was very simple. Sign waivers, pay, grab a life vest and the boat was ready to go with an attendant to go over the controls. We went out with him for a test drive and then he hopped off to let us go out on our own. This is much easier than buying a boat and having to deal with launching after waiting in long lines to get on and off the water. No maintenance on a boat. This is perfect for those that only go on the water a couple times a summer. Bring your own tube to tow. They don't have permitting for rentals of tubes. We did rent a wakeboard for $10. Great fun! We checked out and totally different people checking us out , one of them says he's the owner and charging us 800$ !!!!! For a little scratch !!! Start showing me pictures of boat that we're damaged "similar" scratching what actually he showed me was a reall whole in the fiberglass and comparing that for the little scratch we did, trying make fool of me ! I was whipping to give him few hundred even though before the other guy said 100 I told him take 400$ and leave me alone! But this pig take advantage of the paper you sign to charge you extremely high price to make living from that!!!! We went kayaking for 2 hours which was the perfect amount of time. It was very slow today and my much activity on the water, so it was fantastic. We both agreed that this is one of our top kayaking spots. It was a little bit pricey, but it was such a beautiful area to paddle in. I previously came here and had a negative experience, but I gave it a second chance and I'm glad I did. Due to miscommunication, my friends and I were denied going out on the water at the time we said we'd arrived. However, this was because we didn't realize the closing time was different for that day, and that everyone should arrive 30 min earlier (announced on their site). We were in a bad mood last time, but this experience definitely makes up for it! Would recommend, especially for the views you get on the water. I wish I could respond to some of the lower reviews on here. This place was great! They specifically say you need to get to your appointment 15 minutes early on their website, and if you get there late it will cut in to your appointment (duh)!! Three of us went out on jet skis, got there 20 min early, filled out our paperwork, did a little review of how to use the equipment, went over all the damages already on the jetskis (little x's mark the previous scratches), and that's it! We stayed on the water for 2 hours, probably spent about $15 in gas per jet ski, and we were going probably 40-50mph 90% of the time. Chased boats for their wakes, and had a blast! Practice safe boating principles and stay out about 100ft out or so and you'll be golden. So much fun! Can't wait to go again and will definitely be using these folks again. read more

We are from Boulder, Colorado and wanted some fun on the water in Seattle. We had reserved a wake boat with a driver on 2 different days. Unfortunately, on our first day, the driver was sick and had to cancel. They called us the day before and were able to accommodate us with another boat rental. We didn't have water toys but did a sunset dinner on the boat and toured around Lake Washington. The next day, we were able to get our hour on the wake boat. Greg was our driver. He was fantastic! There was 4 in our group and we all got a chance to wake board or water ski. They made the process of going out on the boat very easy. It was very organized. Greg was great with instructions. Two of our group had not been on a wake board or water skis and they both were able to get up. It was the highlight of our trip. I would highly recommend renting from them. read more

This place is a good place to rent jet skis. I do admit that I have been here a few times and they do pinch for pennies. I rented for 2 hours and before they even let me on the jet ski, they have an instructor who looks over the jet ski to check for scratches and shows you how to use it. This process usually takes about 10-20 minutes before you actually get out on to the water. The only bad part is this 10-20 minutes cuts in to your rental time. I'm like come on bro...really? So be sure to rent for at least 2 hours so that you actually get to ride it. They charge you to rent, charge for gas, and I think there was some other random fee. Overall their customer service is good. I think the business structure could use a little help but it's still fun. read more

You haven't truly experienced Seattle until you've seen it from a jet ski - gliding from Kirkland, past Bellevue and under I-90 on glassy waters in a matter of minutes, it's nothing short of magic! We come here all the time the 12yr old kid In charge of the damage report asked if we had rode a jet ski we said yes,he said to meet him at the end of the docks and that was his damage inspection. And we were sent off at 2:30 we paid for 2 hours which means we should be back at 4:30 to all people with an education. But the 40yr old blonde lady who manages the jet ski shop lmao that's right I said a jet ski shop thinks we should of been back at 4:15, we were there early waited in a line and that's the reason we took off late. Then we returned with a scratch the size of a fingernail and were charged $50. Do not go here unless you plan on getting 100% screwed! We are a return renter and unfortunately had a terrible experience on the check out process with a highly defensive, accusatory, and all around unfriendly manager who says he is also "owner." What happened: we rented a very nice 24 foot boat to wakeboard, received instructions on how to wakeboard but no one mentioned that suction pump on back of boat tends to suck in rope even when in neutral. That's exactly what happened about half way into our trip (not because we intentionally went over the rope but seems the wake from other traffic pushed rope under boat and got sucked in). In any case, we called the main office and they said no problem, "happens all the time" and came out to help us get untangled. While getting the rope out, the mentioned again that the pump "is the one thing that he doesn't like about these boats because this is what happens." Again, no problem at all, everyone was fine. I did ask if we could get a little more time to cruise around but unfortunately the time had run out so we were politely asked to head back to marina and we did so. A little bummed that we didn't get the full experience but hey, things happen, and we were all in a good mood. So first, the good: The young staff that checked us in was very nice and friendly and the gentleman who came to help when we got stranded ... Jason, I believe .. was also excellent. Just nice and honest. Also, equipment was in great shape and clean. Nice boat ... just happens to have a very strong pump/vacuum action! The bad: Sadly, when we were checking out at the marina office I was asked to pay not only for fuel (totally legit) but also cost of the rope! When I said to the young lady checking us out that I didn't think that was fair, a man stepped in from behind saying that I had signed a towing waiver and it was my responsibility. It turned out it was the manager/owner, hovering there, ready to pick a fight. Instead of asking what happened, whether we knew about the pump issue, if we were satisfied and might rent again, he started loudly saying that we had signed the towing waiver and it says we are responsible. I told him we were not briefed on the pump and he said "I guarantee you were." When I said to please bring his staff over to ask about the briefing, he said he didn't have to and it would be "hearsay" anyway and not "evidence." He even had the nerve to say I was lucky he wasn't charging me for being late returning to the marina! Well, he got his fight alright. Happens I am a lawyer and know all about boilerplate in agreements, duties to warn, implied warranties of fitness and, yes, the rules of evidence (not "hearsay" when the staff is right there as the best evidence and would take a minute for him to ask for himself). I ended up refusing to pay for the rope and walked away with the simple advice to the owner to run his business with the customer and customer experience in mind and not to throw boilerplate at customers or refuse to really try to understand what happened before ruining an customer experience or picking fights with customers. Bottom line for renters. BEWARE! The manager/owner relies on and cares more about "gotcha" in the waivers than in what actually happens during your experience. I am not his lawyer, but if I were, I would strongly advise manager/owner take a solid course/briefing of elementary business law to understand the underlying duties of a business like this (hint: they are not in the fine print but in what you do and say or not do and say to your customers) AND a also a course on full life-cycle customer experience to learn ways to avoid what was otherwise a fine experience becoming a poor one with "gotcha" tactics instead of plain old customer service (like looking into what happened before jumping to conclusions). Just look at other reviews and the pattern is ultra clear here. Hope they can survive as a business during these COVID times ... as a business owner, I hate to see such obvious and avoidable missteps and truly hope they can be solved before it is too late. The employees that work here are very rude and inconsiderate. If you don't look like you're the average rich resident of Kirland/Bellevue then they don't want much of your time. I've rented jet ski's and boats from them multiple times and they are never friendly. Last week is the last time I'm going because of how they scam you for the fuel. The first time I went to rent a jet ski with friends we each had our own, with a total of 4 jet ski's. The female that rode hers didn't drive hers as much and drove fairly slow for the 2 hours we were on the lake. When we were done and they charged us for fuel they said it was $30 for everyone per jet ski. Total $120 worth of fuel. All of our fuel gauges were different readings so I have no idea how we all got charged the same exact amount of gas, especially the female we were with. We argued with them and still had to pay the $30 of gas per jet ski. FYI they charge $5 per gallon. The next time we rented from the was approximately 2 weeks later. We rented only two jet skis for 2 hrs. At the end of the day they charged us for $40 per jet ski and said we both used exactly 8 gallons each. $80 of fuel plus the $300 for jet ski. Their prices are ridiculous. It's a scam because they never show us exactly how much gas is really used you just have to hope they're telling the truth. But this time I made sure to take a look at my gas gauge, which said I only used a quarter tank of gas which is NOT equivalent to 8 gallons. I was only giving 1 star but honestly their equipment and location is great. They have the nicest boats and jet skis to rent in the area but they will scam you on the fuel guaranteed!!! I will never rent from the again because of their fuel scam and such high prices to rent. $79/hr for a jet ski. If you call down the road it's $200 for the whole entire day. The guys were really helpful, getting us signed up and going over all of the safety features and controls and getting us out on the water. I asked for the fastest jet ski. The guy set me up with one and put it on "sport mode." Needless to say it was really fast. I almost got that thing up to 60. I am definitely coming back before the end of the summer. Was a little nervous after reading reviews about being charged with damage and the negative comments etc.. but after coming and talking to the employees it was a great experience from start to finish!!! They made it very clear on how to avoid any damage or any extra charges, I can't even imagine how anyone would get damage in the first place if they listened to the employees instructions! I must say, I was a bit skeptical with some of the reviews I had read about people being nickle and dimed but I went ahead and rented a Jet Ski anyways. Turned out to be quite a great experience. I showed up 45 minutes prior to our starting time, waited in line and filled out all the paper work. We were fitted for life jackets and taken to the jet ski we would be renting. Most all of the equipment was in overall great shape. However, the jet ski we ended up riding did have some front end damage that was repaired with tape. While it may not have affected the ride it was not exactly what I was expecting... nicks and dings, okay, damage (cosmetic) that needed duck tape?...meh, not to impressed. Anyhow, the lady that helped us with paperwork was nice, friendly and answered my questions. After be taken to the jet ski we were renting we went over an inspection, they were very thorough in evaluating damage. All prior damage was marked with red stickers, which is nice, I don't want to pay for prior damage. The gentlemen made sure all prior damage was accounted for, went over operation, went over coming back in, was patient and answered all questions. Nothing to complain about. We were sent out about 10 minutes prior to our start time, had a great time, came back it about 10 minutes prior to our ending time. They guided us in and instructed how to dock it. Filled it with fuel, we paid for the fuel and had the option to tip, given our experience with the staff, we tipped (the damaged equipment wasn't their fault). Minus 1 star for the banged up jet ski, felt like I should've got the "you get the bad one" discount. Overall, happy with the people, mostly happy with the equipment and had a blast.
