The truth is, work and life have been so busy lately that I simply do not have time to review mediocre-average establishments. However when I find that one diamond in the rough, I definitely have to give them a shout out! Discovered this place upon the recommendation of a client when one of our firm's partners offered to take them out to lunch. While I was initially confused why a sandwich shop was chosen of all the dining options nearby or within driving distance, I soon realized why this was such a favorite lunchtime location for locals. I admit when I first entered the shop, I was a bit skeptical, seeing that they not only offered sandwiches, but also Korean food (jack of all trades, master of none?). I decided to play it safe and skip the kimchi dishes, and opted for a Tuna Melt sandwich on a soft bread instead. Add in a bag of chips, and my total came out to a very affordable $8.69 after tax. After paying, simply take a seat at any available table, and the staff will bring your food to your table when it is ready. When my food arrived, not only was the presentation great, but the bread was soft yet perfectly toasted at the same time. While a tuna sandwich is pretty simple, it was clear that the ingredients were fresh and well portioned. Friendly staff, great food, and affordable prices. I love waterfront deli! It was my go to lunch spot when I worked in Alameda. I was in town today and got some sandwiches from them and their food quality is still so great! There was even a little surprise b/c they're doing a little marketing campaign so my order came with a small side salad and two chocolate chip cookies, both of which were delicious and appreciated! Extra bonus for the socially awkward like me, they now have online ordering!!! LOVE that. My go to sandwiches are turkey Avocado on ciabatta and east meets west on ciabatta. Also for businesses, waterfront is a delicious and reliable place to get your sandwiches/sides catered. Esther is very kind, polite and prompt in answering catering orders and her very polite/kind husband ALWAYS delivers on time. I've been working in the area for the last 5 years and didn't know this place existed. It's kinda hard to find but food is great and service is super friendly. I've had the Korean Brown Rice lunch twice in the past week, it's that good. The beef, noodles, brown rice are very fresh and flavored perfectly. I live in SF and have eaten at plenty of well known Korean restaurants. The Korean lunch box was jsut as good and priced reasonable. I brought my coworker and he was surprised how good this was. I grew up on the west side of Alameda, and people hardly know about this place, let alone the area. As time passed, the focus of Alameda went to Park Street. Park Street is not bad, but I do enjoy the occasional quiet, peace, and calm area. If that is what you are seeking, then this is the area to go. Tuck away in a waterfront office park, it is near the pier, which has a good view of Oakland. It is an open area. The staff was hecka nice. Patient. Well accommodating. Pleasant. I enjoy the staff. Even more, the food was fresh (and also well priced). They do have Mediterranean food along with various sandwiches, but hands down my favorite sandwich had to be East Meets West. The sandwich was a Korean style beef - bulgogi meat with jalapeños! The chef is very creative in how to mix and match the eastern food with western food. My daily breakfast spot. It is amazing what they do with their twists on American clasics. That twist is a Korean twist that they put in because of their family roots. I highly recommend the East meets West. It is an incredible sandwich with bulgogi beef. I would call it a sandwich that 1 of 1. Their breakfast is really good too! I either have a Denver omelette or I have a sausage burrito. Either or they are filing and super tasty. Prices are fair and the place is clean! I do think that eating in front of the marina is incredibly beautiful. I would call it a good place to come to after a stroll with the family. :) Overall this is one of my favorite spots in Alameda and you won't go wrong with coming to eat here. read more

Found this place because I have a pregnant sister that gets cravings of very specific things. We came in a where welcomed by very nice people. My sister ordered something that was not on the menu, she got a bagel with cream cheese, cucumber, tomato, and spinach. They didn't hesitant to accommodate her. This place is so amazing, since becoming a vegetarian I've pretty much had to write off most delis, as they're typically not veggie friendly- which is a bummer because I love the traditional deli feel and atmosphere. So when i found Waterfront Deli i was so excited because they have so many healthy (and delicious) vegetarian options and for a reasonable price! Probably one of the worst turkey clubs I've had. I tried out this place because of all the great reviews but I was better off going to Whole Foods. The bread had so much Mayo it would squeeze out when I tried to take a bite. I ordered online sourdough bread but was given white bread. I would appreciate if businesses moving forward would contact customers if they don't have what they want and ask them if they were okay with a substitution. The turkey tasted very old and dry. The Waterfront Deli is a wonderful choice for your catering needs. The food is delicious, the presentation is great, but most importantly the customer service is immaculate. I had to shift gears twice last minute and Esther helped me with such a calming ease. She made me feel that everything would work out smoothly and it did! Her son, who's name is slipping my mind even stood outside of my event with me until the building owners, who were extremely late, came and unlocked the doors. That love for their job and kindness shows up in their delicious food. From the turkey sandwich I had to the Salmon and rice, everything was so good. They are located and will cater as far as Hayward. They have a full offering of traditional breakfast items and a full array of good lunch sandwiches. Some of them are unique and will blow your mind - especially East Meets West. Their turkey bacon avocado sandwich is in a class of it's own. They have a nice outdoor deck area with seating where you can peacefully enjoy your lunch next to the marina. Sandwiches are better than what you'd find at a convenience store, but are as mind-blowing as you can get from a Subway, Togo's, or Quizno's. Turkey sandwiches lack turkey. The Italian sandwich-of-the-day was meaty, but go with a bread roll instead of sliced bread or else it'll end up like a soggy sponge. Staff is friendly, but expect a 10 minute wait for your sandwich during lunch time. 10 minutes can feel like eternity when you're hungry. Outdoor seating is great and lets you take advantage of the relaxing marina view. Good thing there isn't a seagull problem because I don't like bird droppings on sandwiches. It is a nice and clean space by the water so it is always a nice walk around the marina area until you get this place for a always solid good sandwiches (my favorite is the tuna melt) and chips. I recently realized that they added some korean fusion items, such spicy bbq burritos and kimchi bulgogi burger and other wraps and sandwiches with Korean themes. Also serves regular korean lunch boxes (with brown rice!). Bim bim pap on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On a sunny and not windy day, you can seat outside and enjoy the outdoor and unwind a bit before that dreading 1pm meeting. =) Some parking available.
