Staff and Service: - Staff was quick to clean tables and make sure we got seated right away - Once we ordered, it was a little difficult to get staff attention (all tables were full and they were quite busy) to get water and pay the bill Food and Drinks: - Cheese omelette: standard omelette - Blueberry Pancakes: comes with 2 or 3. I ordered 2 and they were filling (couldn't finish them) - Hashbrowns: on the crispier side (depends on how you like your hashbrowns if you'll like these or not) Miscellaneous: - Plenty of parking available via a parking lot - Make sure to check out the specials board (the table next to us ordered loco moco, and it looked good)

This place is located on the outskirts of Shoreline Shopping center. You'd miss it if you didn't know it's there. We came on a Sunday around noon. There were probably 6 other people in line when we got here. We were surprised the we only waited less than 10 mins before we got seated. Service was top notch. We ordered and received our food pretty quickly. I ordered the veggie omelette. It was as big portion served over hash browns and a side of toast. Zach ordered the veggie sandwich with a side of fries. Everything was as good as brunch would get. We've been here a couple times now and we love the service and the food. Best brunch place in Alameda in my opinion.

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the parking lot is always full. It is w weekday and there are only a few tables open at 12:30pm. It is a lovely mom-and-pop type business, with a young man greeting and getting you set up. A decent homestyle menu with a few Vietnamese offerings. Get it? I thought of the loco mofo, but threw down with fish and chips. Nothing spectacular, but decent nonetheless. I studied the menu a bit more and already have plans to return.

Oles waffle shop takes away all the shine from this diner feel cafe. It's moms and pops. It's decor-less. It's no frills breakfast spot. It's my kind of breakfast stop when you don't want to deal with all the fancy modern over-priced brunch spots! Food: The waffle - let me tell you how buttery, crispy, and chewy this waffle is, like one of the best I had Hash browns were done right crispy. Eggs were over easy Corned beef hash was good. Service was good too. Looking forward to come back.

Solid, Standard breakfast fare. Their prices have gone up a few dollars (understandably) but otherwise large portions and fast, friendly service. Good alternative for weekend brunch versus Ole's or Jim's!

Food was decent. I had the Corn Beef Benedict which I thought was tasty. The place seemed nice. Similar to many hole in the wall diners. The waitress filled my drink consistently which I thought was nice. I would come back if I'm in the area.

It can get crowded and busy so sometimes you may need to wait. The staff are super nice. Definitely love the homey vibes. The blueberry pancake came HOT and delicious. It came with two eggs and two strips of bacon. I got coffee and the staff makes rounds to see if you want a refill. I definitely want to try other things on their menu.

Southshore Cafe 531 S Shore Ctr W Alameda, CA 94501 (510) 523-3663 Nov 06, 2025 After finishing my laundry at Launderland South Shore, I headed over to South Shore Café and ordered the Loco Moco with a sausage patty. The portion was very generous--I even asked for an extra plate so I could divide it and take the other half home. The café is cozy, the staff were welcoming, and the food came out flavorful and satisfying. It was a perfect stop in between errands, and I'd happily return.

Classic old school diner that gives a nostalgic warm feel. Ive been a customer at this specific diner for years and can proudly vouch for their breakfast menu. Their portion sizes are generous and filling! Hash browns are crispy, pancakes fluffy, and french toast just the perfect amount of sweet. Workers are super accommodating and check in on their tables. Majority of the people here are families and older folks, but that's when you know the food is authentic and homey. It gets pretty busy on weekdays and weekends but I've never had to wait too long for seating.

Staff is very friendly. Very packed on Saturday mornings. Food is good and a good place for breakfast food.

We been coming here for a very long time. My family and I would often come here on the weekend to have brunch together. Great service. The food here is delicious. It does get quite busy during rush hour but the wait isn't long. I always get the same thing when I come here. Family friendly restaurant.

Eggs Benedict w/ hash brown, side of corned beef hash, chicken+avocado omelette w/ tots

Solid diner experience! The service and ambiance is warm and feels like you're eating a family friend's house but w/ unlimited coffee refills and yummy eggs benny (I don't have many friends who casually make eggs benny this good ) For the food- eggs benny was delicious and it been on top of the crispy hash browns too was a combo I never knew I needed. The chicken+avocado omelet was solid but I think I can make something like that at home. The side of corned beef hash was a MUST! Loved it for some extra protein. It's not anything special but it always delivers and itches that brunch/diner craving!

Turkey sandwich with mashed potato's and BEEF gravy. Um, no thank you and just wrong. Should be turkey gravy. Watered down iced tea.
    William W.

Subpar service and mediocre food. Iced tea was mostly water and a drop of tea. Most would expect this ratio to be the inverse. I ordered the hot turkey sandwich with mashed potato's and gravy (see picture). The gravy was made from beef and not turkey, which I expected. When I informed my server that I don't eat beef, she responded with, "I didn't know that." Which is fair. But then when I asked why you would put beef gravy with a turkey meal her answer was rude and she told me to order something else. My lost appetite, trust and lack of respect had me out of there. I asked to pay and she coldy said no, so I left. I won't be going back to this place and recommend you to stay away unless you feel like getting similar treatment.

The noodle soup was presented so well and the dumplings sauce was so good that I poured some into my broth for extra flavor. The slider was so moist and fresh, juice was literally dripping off each bite and the cucumbers in it gave it a good crunchy texture. 1520 Park St Alameda, CA 94501…read more This is the Alameda Grill that's next to Alameda Bicycle at Park St & Webb Ave. Alameda Grill is probably the smallest restaurant in Alameda, and mainly serves up burgers and fries. (Not to be confused with the Alameda Cinema Grill). I was there on a Tuesday morning at about 10:50 am. I asked the lady if she was open yet, and she happily said "YES....c'mon in!" This place is very small. As soon as you walk in you'll be at the counter of the kitchen. There's no lobby or dining room. I just ordered a Cheeseburger and Fries. She asked if I wanted a double, and held up two frozen meat patties. I agreed to a double, and she started cooking. FYI- I was a fast food shift Mgr decades ago, and I'm familiar w/ cooking burgers. She laid the two patties on the flat grill, and put a large searing tool on top for 2-3 mins. Then she dropped the fries in the fry vat. I asked for a burger with everything. The food was ready pretty quick, and I was on my way. Free ketchup and napkins. OMG, the french fries were excellent! Crispy on the outside and tender soft on the inside. Fries have a limited holding time of 7-10 mins. After that they become limp and soft. Eat those fries HOT, you will enjoy them more. The Double Cheeseburger was okay. The meat patties were not fully caramelized to bring out the flavor. Needed another slice of cheese. Maybe more mayo and seasonings. But it's a good size, and it's freshly made. It's a good value for the price. They need more outside seating. Burgers and fries should be enjoyed right away.
