    Italian special sandwich
    Art Por D.

Good sandwich. Lots of space to sit indoors and outdoors. Service was quick. I'd probably swap the spread for mustard so this might be top a tier sandwich just wasn't for my palette. Will come back again and do the swap. Update rating then also.

Excited to have finally tried this place :). Staff and Service: - Order at the register and your number will be called for you to pick your food up at the counter (took about 10-15 minutes as I went during lunchtime hours) Food and Drinks: - East Meets West: I'm so glad I picked this sandwich. It contained tasty bulgogi, red onion, jalapeños, avocado, provolone, and a garlic spread. What more could you want? I got it in a ciabatta roll, which made it easy to eat. - Each sandwich comes with a choice to do just the sandwich, Combo A (chips and canned soda), or Combo B (soup or salad). - Peanut Butter Bar: not sure if this was a protein bar? Either way, it was a bar packed with peanut butter and small dried cranberries, which was an interesting surprise. It was a little on the chalky side, but it still had good flavor Miscellaneous: - Bathrooms are located outside and around the corner (shared with the other businesses in the Research Park) - Parking is available via the shared parking lot with the other businesses - There are about 10 or so tables inside, 2 tables immediately outside, and then a few tables located along the railing that divides the walking path from the dock to the boats

I visited this cute, small deli shop for the first time and got a sandwich on a roll, toasted. The sandwich itself was good, but I felt it could have been better. The toaster they used didn't really crisp the bread as I expected, so it didn't stay warm for long, especially with the cold ham and veggies. That being said, the price was decent, cheaper than other delis I've been to.

I highly recommend emailing your order to Esther and pick up to save time. The owners are always friendly and helpful. My coworkers and I enjoy the sandwiches with a view here. One time, I forgot to include a client's lunch so I called it in, parked on a curb, ran with my heels because chicken salad plate was already ready to pick up. It was Marcela who helped me that day so I truly appreciate it!!

Tucked away in Alameda's marina, you'll find the best sandwiches on the island. I ordered the Italian special which came on delicious sourdough bread. This sandwich had the right amount of salami and ham and had a perfect ratio of red onion, lettuce, tomato, and their house garlic spread. This is a great stop for a delicious, affordable lunch. There are tables inside and out with a beautiful view of Oakland across the harbor. 10/10, will be back!

    Chicken Salad Sandwich

My family was in town and they were craving a sandwich, so they picked WD. I had never been before, but it was so close to where I work. Not to mention reasonable pricing! We arrived and there was one other person there. We followed their social distance protocols. We browsed the menu--I was waffling between tuna and chicken salad. Ultimately, I chose the later because it came with avocado. We ordered three sandwich, chip, & drink combos and by the time we walked out, there was a line of people. Our order took less than 10 minutes and everyone's sandwich looked great. I notes that their hot sauce selection included sriracha and Tabasco. The Dutch crunch roll was nice and tender. A part of me wishes I got it toasted, but feared it would tear up the roof of my mouth :P The chicken salad tasted good and the veggies were fresh. I enjoyed the meal very much and look forward to visiting again for the tuna melt (and other items)!

Waterfront Deli... on the water side of the building

Walt from Walt's Adventures here. I found myself at the Waterfront Deli in Alameda, California! It's a small deli next to a marina in Alameda. It's located on the waterside of a nondescript building filled with small businesses. However, it is worth visiting because it is a pearl in the ocean. The deli has a good selection of sandwiches and salads and even makes a number of sandwiches to meet your breakfast needs. I ordered a turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce. It was a well made sandwich and it was just the right size. I ordered it with chips and a soda. It was a good sandwich but for my tastes, it was a bit dry. We also ordered the Mediterranean Wrap with chicken. This was a fine, well crafted sandwich. Like other delis, they bring your order to your table. However, they do so on a silver platter. No, I do not mean this figuratively but literally. It was a silver platter! No other restaurant that I have ever visited has ever do so. 4 out of 5 because I got a pickle with my tray but others in my party did not. I thought it was an oddity. If you want to sit peacefully by the water, have a perfected sandwich and take a small break from life, seek out the Waterfront Deli. It's located in Alameda, California

However, an acquaintance raved about it, so we had to try. Once inside, you sense the warm, family-run feel, and regulars and staff know each other. You also get the sense that people know where it's at when it comes to great sandwiches. The sandwiches are amazing. Ok, I'll be honest -- I went like three times in two weeos, but have only tried one sandwich. Because it's so dang amazing. The roast lamb sandwich. My girlfriend agrees, and that's also the only thing she gets. It's borderline life-changing. We like it with: dutch crunch, pepperjack, lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayo, and a bit of Dijon. I also tried their fantastic tiramisu, one of the best I've had. They carry delicious chips; I've enjoyed the pesto and truffle flavors. They also carry the delicious, local Alameda Soda Co sodas. Just an awesome way to enjoy delicious food and support local businesses. Other notes: For two people, a large should be fine! They wrap it as two sandwiches. Works perfectly for me and my gf, with chips and drinks. The have a dining area at both the front and back of the shop. Lines can form, but nothing extreme. Absolutely worth it. They take phone orders! I haven't tried yet. I don't mind waiting and it's nice to chat with the staff (if they're not too busy).

I ordered a tuna sandwich with everything on Dutch crunch bread, along with some Harvest Cheddar SunChips and a Strawberry Kiwi Snapple. Let me tell you--the sandwich was excellent. The tuna tasted fresh, the lettuce and tomatoes were crisp, and that Dutch crunch bread brought it all together. Every bite was on point. Easily one of the best deli sandwiches I've had, especially from an independently owned spot. The place itself has a great old-school vibe. Lots of photos on the walls and even some Raiders memorabilia, which gives it a real local feel. When I got there, there were a few people ahead of me, so I waited about 10-15 minutes, but it was worth it. You can tell they're making everything fresh. There were about 4-5 people working behind the counter, and even though they were busy, they were still friendly, engaging, and interacting with customers, which I liked. The lady at the register was also very nice and welcoming. They've got a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from. I've tried a few over the years, but next time I might go for something like the Chicago-style meatball sandwich. If you're in Alameda on Webster Street and want a fresh, high-quality sandwich, this is the spot. Perfect for grabbing something to go and heading over to the park or the beach on a nice day. Two thumbs up from me.

Yes, it did come with extra meat, but I wasn't expecting it to be so huge! I can't believe this place is only 16 years old. You walk in, and it smells like an old time italian deli. The italian cookies, pickled olives, and fruitcakes brought back my memories of living in San Francisco's North Beach as a child. I was told all the bread is fresh, and they close when the bread runs out (EOB). Customer service was great. I was there at around 1pm, and I think the lunch rush just ended. The lady who served me said her husband was away on a break. I was able to sample their house made focaccia bread, and it was delicious. I took my sandwich to go, but they have tables if you want to eat there. It's called an italian market, but it's more like a deli that sells italian items. If that part is good, we can get to know each other as I come and go. But if I think your place is too inconvenient, I will find a more convenient convenience store. Good luck! For a grocery/cafe, or whatever store this they are going for, all I can say is that it's cute and has decent atmosphere for a coffee shop. Everything else they are trying to do seems to give me the feeling of being lost every timing in.
