It is in the country with beautiful scenery all around (horses and cows) Has a tiny home community as you pull through to the back where the RV park is located.

What a treat to get just an hour out from Dallas and be able to enjoy a crisp lake, minimal crowds,…read moreblue skies, plenty of trees, and around five miles of trails! The state park had multiple clean restroom facilities with water fountains and places to fill bottles. I enjoyed a 14 mile trail run, looping each trail several times. Multiple trails offer lakefront views. The park is open early (6 AM) all the way til 10 PM with self-pay options for entering. At just $5 to enter, it's a real bargain to get outside and get your dose of nature in. There were minimal pests (bugs) throughout the park (unlike my last trip to Broken Bow!), and I must have seen at least 20 deer in the 3ish hour period I was there. It's not Colorado or anything, but for being so close to Dallas it's a perfect retreat. The park staff was very friendly, along with all the locals I encountered on the trails!

Came here to visit family and enjoy the state park. There are numerous camp sites with about 30…read morefull hookups. Most are easy access, and the parking pads are spacious and easy to park in. They look to have a picnic table and a fire pit. There are some good walking trails, and the fishing is supposed to be good. Some trophy sized bass have been taken from this lake. The staff was helpful and very informed. They have a full boat ramp and a cleaning station. The showers need to be updated in the mens room as they do not drain properly. A fishing pier would be a nice addition as unless you have a boat, you have to fish from shore, and there are not many spots to do so. It is a really nice state park is you are near Dallas.

Very impressed with this campground. We made our reservation for an RV site on the day we needed…read moreto be there (due to change of plans) and were easily accommodated. Later that day they gave us a courtesy call to let us know that some storms were coming in and if we were coming in from the west we'd be hitting some significant rain. Pretty nice. Very good RV park. The sites are nice. Not paved but still very good. Small gravel makes it easy to level. Picnic table at each site is on concrete slab. Full hook-ups. When we got there and were hooking up a member of the staff drove by our site and called us by name and asked if we were doing ok. Great service! Very nice large pool. It's open 9:30a-9:30p. They have a volleyball net and basketball hoop so you can play in the pool. Park is pretty large. There is a pond out back where you can go fishing. They have cabins available and a few have good sized decks that overlook the pond. Nice tent area with covered picnic tables and electrical outlet. Would like to have seen grills at each site. Cabins and tent sites seem to have them, but RVers like to BBQ, too. Also some recycling bins would be good. We pulled in after dark and the entrance was not very well lit and there were a lot of cars due to an event in the Rec Center so it was hard to see where we were supposed to park to check in. Overall a good campground. I'd come back.

We found this to be a very nice campground, beautifully maintained, quiet and peaceful, staffed by friendly and gracious people. It is a very scenic place with a nice pool and a pond if you like to fish or just watch the moon rise. We are tent campers, and were happy to see that there was some shelter from the hot Texas sun along with close water and power. We booked in advance and we looked forward to our one night stay in Caddo Mills, but when it was time to leave, we wish we could have stayed several days longer.
