Great little spot to grab some wine and gourmet snacks. This quaint place was literally across the street at the hotel I stayed in, Waterfront Inn.

Went to the bar in back of the store and there was a huge crowd for the size of the place. There was a wonderful cheese platter to order that I enjoyed. I had a great bottle of Chardonnay. There was also a singer there as well. It was a crowded small place where the locals gathered. They were all having the most fun sitting and chatting and visiting around. Quite the friendly atmosphere.

Very friendly staff. My husband and I both had a great glass of wine. Cool wine shop up front with wine slushies too!

Wasn't impress with the house wine, glass was to small and they fill it to the rim to cheap. Way to many nat's.

They have added a wine bar that overlooks the Darien river and it is beautiful there as the sun is setting.

My husband ordered the Pac-Rim Noodle Bowl with jerk chicken, and I had the Blackened Point Loma Fish Sandwich with sweet potato fries. Both meals were fantastic. The noodle bowl was full of bold, fresh flavors, and the fish sandwich was perfectly blackened and cooked just right. The sweet potato fries were a great addition. It's refreshing to find a restaurant that's a little different from the usual fare and executes everything so well. Great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and an experience that has us looking forward to our next visit. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Brunswick.

Everyone was nice. *Patio is cool with the large tree growing in the middle of it. * All 3 of us got a variation of the jerked chicken. * Jerked chicken tostadas were just flavorful and delicious. *Calypso nachos with the jerked chicken, the pineapple paired well and just good nachos. *Pac-rim salad with jerked chicken, big serving and a nice crunch with the cabbage Cole slaw paired with a peanut vinaigrette and the jerked chicken. Delicious. * Our serve was attentive but not over burdening. Checked in, was super pleasant, just darn right nice. *Chocolate bread pudding was recommend and it was moist and warm with a good scoop of vanilla ice cream. The caramel drizzle was the highlight for me. What could of been better: *A me thing for nachos, when piled high the bottom gets soggy before you can enjoy them. Great visit, want to come back and try some other items.

Remarkably they had happy hour…read morespecials going. $3.50 well drinks and $4 house wines and a number of items on the happy hour menu to eat and drink. The restaurant is large enough with good bar space and two dining sections. Overall it gives a nice quaint ambience with a big wood fired oven in view from the bar. I ordered an Old Forester well bourbon on the rocks and my wife ordered a glass of red wine. We followed up later with the second round. We enjoyed our drinks and chose to try a handful of items off the happy hour menu. We started with the brie, the chef's choice tacos, the oven roasted olives, and the Caesar salad. Everything had a wood fired flare. The oven roasted olives were a nice order meaty and oven hot. The Brie was wood fired melted with a side of house jam and what I would call a ciabatta roll. It was my favorite. Again very good. The chef choice tacos were beef and came as an order of 2 small but tasty tacos. We shared the Caesar salad which had a nice smoky flavor with a tasty dressing and overall good. Everything was fine and definitely above average and would probably order those again. There's a pretzel and chicharrones also on the HH menu We ordered a Meatzilla Fire bread off the main menu which was tasty thin pizza. A little thin crust for me but everything was fresh and good quality. $1 charge for parmasian cheese. I would likely come back again to try some of the mainstay entrées, like scallops, bone-in pork chop and ribeye steak which looked a little pricey but again sometimes you get what you pay for. Looking forward to our next trip. I would definitely stop by and try the happy hour for excellent drinks and some tasty shareables and remarkably inexpensive drinks. We generally don't order dessert but tried the Eula May which was a sour dough pound cake. It was excellent. I would rate this restaurant at a 4.5, however, it is much better than many of the places I've tried in Brunswick or Saint Simons Island. I'd make a final rating once I try again and taste the entrees. The Yelp average of 4.2 is way too low for this place. I chose to give it a 5.0 rather than a 4.0. Definitely worth trying.

This is our first time at Embers and my wife & I decided to do more an appetizer style type dinner. We had the wings which are duck drumettes, hogs in quilts (sausage dish in a pastry) then a pizza. We had the Gyro style pizza which was a specialty type pizza that evening. All the food was very good! We will be back again soon & try some entrees during our next visit. If visiting or live on SSI this is a very nice spot!

For many years, I wanted to see the NPR radio show, "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!" Peter and the Crew came to Savannah Civic Center on Thursday, 3.26.26. I booked this hotel through Priceline. After my travel companion cancelled, I changed my mind about driving over alone and staying alone for 2 days. The cancellation was executed in order with a cancellation number + stamp. Many conversations with Priceline were of no avail until today. Priceline was trying to hold onto my money (until the last minute), $244.96, stating that I had not made the cancellation during the 'correct window' of time. For 2 weeks in a row, the Front Desk staff was courteous and helpful to assist me to resolve the issue. After calling the hotel to speak with the Front Desk, Priceline relented and issued my refund. Thank you, Ladies at Gateway. You ROCK! Judith

I called and asked them to come and clean it. I heard the lady squirt something twice. 30 seconds later. She came out and asked me to check it. Obviously it was still filthy! She didn't even run the water! I ended up using a washcloth to clean the tub as best I could and it was still filthy. The bed was on a metal stand. That's unusual. It was weird. The bed itself wasn't uncomfortable, but the metal stand was weird and unappealing. There was a gap in the flooring. The building was shifted a little. How do I know? Because I tried to roll up to the desk and kept rolling back each and every time. The pool and hot tub looked sketchy. My husband wanted to go in and I told him no way! It looked dirty even when it was empty in the morning. Then it was filled with kids later. Hope they didn't catch anything! One day there was a leak in there too. Water straight streaming from the ceiling like a faucet. Maintenance workers were trying to hold a trash can up to catch the water. The walls are very thin. Our room was over the lobby and we could hear people talking. There were a couple of pros. The breakfast was better than expected. Well, the waffles were! Eggs were obviously powder. Sausage was ok. The front desk staff were all very friendly, helpful, and wonderful! They get 5 stars! But the hotel as a whole gets 1 star.

Interior The most recent owner has done some stuff to make it look more upscale, like faux interior wood flooring. Price / Value / Food I found some very good deals in the meat department. Unlike any of it's predecessors, they have Boar's Head deli meats. They have a hot bar with stuff like fried chicken, fried pork chops, mac & cheese. Apparently the offerings change daily but there's a schedule (ie fried fish on Fridays). Customer Service As usual, the customer service was top notch. The deli attendant made a mistake and sliced nearly 2.5 lbs of turkey instead of a quarter pound (0.25) and one night when I ventured in, someone from the deli had dished up portions of food and priced them without labeling the contents so the staff had no way of knowing if the containers contained sweet potato casserole, mac n cheese or what - but we all gotta give people grace in this day of struggle staffing. Overall I hope these guys stick around. They also own The Market (restaurant and seafood market).
