If you want something done right....do it yourself!…read more Paid Erickson Septic Service $1700 to put in a new lift station pump a little over a year ago. After the tech left, I plugged in my old pump to troubleshoot it. Turned out my pump wasn't even bad! It worked just fine! The only problem was the electrical connection in the sump hole. Fast forward to today. Circuit breaker tripped and wouldn't reset. I removed the lid and pumped the water out to find the plug was water logged and shorted out. The problem is, since it is below ground, they were supposed to put it in a waterproof box! I called Erickson to give them the chance to correct the inferior plug installation and they told me they didn't want the chance and pretty much tough luck. So, I paid $1700 for a pump I didn't need and a bad plug installation that failed. Way to go Erickson! I guess I will fix your mistake now.

The original stopper rotted out and when removing it, the top came off but the threads remained in the pipe. After trying a couple of ways, the technician was able to carefully remove the remaining part for the original plug and successfully installed a new one. This saved us the expense of having to cut through the drywall in the adjacent bedroom and replace parts of the drain and overflow. It was refreshing that he tried multiple times to do it the "easy way", and avoid a more costly repair. I would recommend them to anyone.
