Food: we got bread to start, it was nice and warm. I know certain things are an after thought like fried appetizers and kids chicken tenders so we weren't surprised that they were average. So I wouldn't recommend going with those items. The clam chowder was watery and lacked any real flavor, sadly, because it's one of my favorite things usually. Main course was the farfalle pollo palomino; pasta was very overcooked and it could've been one of the most oily pasta dishes I've had. Ended up taking most of it as a carryout. Service: It was a Saturday night and they were definitely busy, but it took quite a bit of time for someone to even come by with some water, that's understandable. We visited Soluna for the first time on a Friday evening and were really excited after seeing how great the food looked online. The atmosphere was warm and cozy when we walked in, and our waitress, Zoe, was absolutely lovely--friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. We were served warm bread with oil and caponata to start, which was very good. We ordered the arancini as an appetizer since it's one of my husband's favorites, but unfortunately it wasn't what we expected. The sauce had a strong banana pepper flavor instead of a classic marinara, and it just didn't work for us. For entrees, I ordered the chicken casalinga and my husband had the farfalle pollo palomino. We both added the lemon rice soup, which was solid--not the best we've had, but good enough that we'd order it again. My husband's entrée was okay but lacked flavor overall, though the chicken itself was cooked well. My dish, however, was extremely overpowering with lemon. I normally love lemon-forward dishes, but this was so sour and intense that I couldn't eat it. The manager stopped by and we mentioned the issue. He said the sauce is always that strong and suggested I just wasn't used to it, which felt a bit dismissive. Later, our arancini was removed from the bill, and we did appreciate that. He also sent over a small dessert of tiramisu and cannolis before we left, which were both tasty. Before leaving, I asked our waitress about the lemon sauce and learned that the same lemon cream sauce is used in multiple dishes, which conflicted with what we were told earlier. Overall, while we truly appreciated Zoe's great service and enjoyed parts of the meal, the food and overall experience didn't live up to our expectations. Food was just great. I ordered the white fish adriatica. The fish was good but what brings the flavor to this plate is the sauce so make sure that you mix the sauce evenly and try small pieces with the sauce. Add a little bit of the veggies as well and you just get a good flavor. The bread was really good as well. I ordered a Canoli as well and it was just great. The service was great. The server was helpful and very courteous, and attentive. Oh try the lemon abc soup. Definitely a one to try. Even though, I tired the minestrone the other soup was great as well. read more

On a freezing evening after a large snowstorm, we stopped here for dinner before a show. We were one of 2 tables, so we had great service! The food was good but not exceptional. The chicken piccata needed a bit more tang/lemon. The server or kitchen got big bonus points with me as our friend dining with us also ordered chicken piccata but doesn't like artichokes. I joked that they could give me her share of artichokes. I was thrilled when the server brought me a side plate with more artichokes than were in my own dish! My husband ordered thelasagna. It was delicious. We both had plenty of leftovers for the next day. The only mediocre thing was the thin, rather tasteless sauce on the pasta side served with the chicken plates. Dessert was a hit and a miss. The tiramisu was light and flavorful. Carrot cake was way too over spiced. Though none of us could identify the flavor we all didn't care for it. Splitting the desserts in thirds gave us all a decent size piece of each. This was our first visit to Soluna. We will likely return on a night they have many more customers. read more

We been back twice after changing from Sajos to Soluna. I'll start with the good first. The food was ok, wasnt the best or worst taste. Ambiance was very nice, will give them credit for a nice, clean place. But now the bad news, service was terrible 1 star. Our waitress Flora was giving us bad information, told us one thing, did another. I would avoid this place and try a different restaurant. I miss Sajos. We will not be back here. read more

We went to Soluna for the first time Saturday Nov30, first time for my husband and I, walked in, asked table for two, hostess got ready to seat us when of the servers came up to them and got very loud in their faces. Not very welcoming, hostess seated us and told us the loud server was our server, ok, I can deal with that, asked us for drink order, I asked for orange pop(soda) she did not understand , she kept saying juice I said no, then offered orange slices, again I said no, she had an accent so it made communication a bit hard, finally I asked root beer, she did not know, so I said Pepsi and she understood that. I'm not a big meat eater so ordered eggplant Parmesan, I did notice it had spinach and mushrooms in it. We ordered minestrone soup but it did not come out hot, we sent those back. Received eggplant and it was served nicely but the taste was not there , I was disappointed, I ate half. My husband had brazini (fish) and it was very fishy, they should have cut off most of the skin, I will say big disappointment for dinner, and we will not be coming back. The service was okay except she never came back after food was served, she kept running into a banquet room. Once we were done, she brought our soup to go. The restaurant itself was nice to walk into but I think the servers should not be getting snippy with the hostesses, but she should have known what drinks the restaurant has. My husband and I decided to try Soluna for dinner tonight for the first time. The bread came with an herbed olive oil to dip with hints of red pepper flakes and the owner gave us an olive tapenade to try with the bread as well. Very tasty. Each entree came with soup or salad. I had the salad with the house Parmesan vinaigrette and my husband had the lemon rice soup (not pictured). I ordered the Chicken Pecan dinner and my husband ordered one of the specials. Had a great experience here the other night. Service was absolutely amazing. From the appetizers of calamari to the delicious homemade dressing in the salad we loved our food. Didn't rush us at all or mind questions, basically how a server should make you feel in any practical restaurant. But on my last two visits, they left that tendon in the chicken breast. First time. I thought it was a mistake. Second time I know it's negligence. Aurelio, the owner is trying very hard - brought a complementary. Caponata appetizer to our table and at the end always brings complementary cannolis. Jeffrey always make sure things are spaced out perfectly. When I was there last week, our waitress was in such a rush. We were there to celebrate a birthday-including appetizers and dessert we were in and out in an hour. I felt very rushed and did not enjoy it. Saluna has lots of potential.
