The measure of a good supplier isn't measured only in the fulfillment of the job spec, but also in meeting the customer expectation. In my case, Tom did a great job on my foundation project, and both he and his crew were courteous and respectful. After he finished the job, I asked him to come back and alter the appearance of a part of the concrete work. It was an esthetic thing, but important to me. It involved additional concrete work. He handled it with class, and came back to add a little flair to the area around my well, at no extra charge. I am so happy with the result! Tom was great. I had water coming into my basement with heavy rains, and called another company first . They quoted me 26,000 for their waterproofing system. I had Tom come out, he indicated that the other company's system would not have helped my problem. He was able to fix it for 3500, and I was happy to not have water coming into my basement anymore! read more

I had a problem with water coming into the basement about a half inch a day he told me my drain tiles must be clogged and needed to be replaced they sold me on that idea and that cost me $14,000 . They came back three more times because I continue to get water coming through the floor . Now my concrete floor looks like a mosaic because of all the cutting and chopping they did. They said the only way to fix the problem would be to replace all the concrete which They would charge me another $10,000 to do. Also don't believe about the lifetime warranty it's a scam do you have to pay $700 a year to keep the lifetime warranty in affect ! This Another part that would really piss anybody off ! My elderly in-laws live in a 100 yr old home in Lake Bluff and have had issues with the basement getting water after a hard rain. I called both Tom and US Waterproofing to come out and give an estimate for the waterproofing. Both were good, but I liked Tom's straight-forward, old school approach. He looked things over, told me what needed to be done and hand-wrote an estimate which he left with us along with his card. His estimate was a fraction of US Waterproofing's for the same work. Tom showed up on time with 2 co-workers, hauled away the garbage at the end of the day, and was finished with the job in 2 days - with a 10 yr. warranty on the work, for the estimated price. I wouldn't use this guy! My 87 year old Mother trusted him. He called her the day he was supposed to be there and said he couldn't make it because he hadn't got all his supplies. The day he did show up, he said he had to remove her hot water tank. When he was done, he couldn't get the pilot light lit on the water tank. She was without hot water all day. He came back the next day and still couldn't figure it out!! He said he was sorry but she would have to call a plumber!!! Too bad she had already paid him! Now she has to pay a plumber to come out on a Sunday night!! This guy is a looser!!! I know alot of business people and I will surely let them know that this clown is bad news!!! read more

I had an appointment scheduled with Tom for Sat., 8/26 to provide me with an estimate. I called early that morning to confirm the appointment and time, as he said he would be here "mid afternoon". I give this business 0 stars. The first day they were suppose to come they were three hours late. They had some car troubles so I let that slide. It took them three days to fax over the estimate when they kept telling me they had sent it already. They were going to come on Saturday then switched it to Sunday. Sunday came and went with no return phone call. I finally got someone to answer the phone sunday night to tell me they were definetly coming on Tuesday. Tom is professional as well as very pleasant. He has been exemplary in timeliness and standing by his work. We had an exterior solarium foundation leak about two years ago. Tom fixed it and it held. With the extensive snow of 2013 we did have minor seepage this year and Tom was there to fix it within 24 hours at no charge. He even came by three days later to ensure our satisfaction. Avoid this business at all costs; they will rip you off!! I had two cracks repaired in my basement for a total of $600 in June 2007. At that time they were a member of WI BBB with a good rating. Unfortunately, now they have a rating of F because they refuse to address warranty and other unresolved issues. When I contacted them to repair a crack that leaks, Tom Leiss, the owner, made an appointment but never showed up and would never answer his phone when I attempted to contact him again. The 10 year warranty offered is obviously a worthless joke. Waterproofing is a ripoff industry which is why I attempted to research this company's credibility but to no avail in this case.
