The food and atmosphere are great. We went a couple of times and enjoyed our meal both times. The music was great also.

We had dinner here on a Wednesday when they have the "flip for tequila". That was fun, and the service was fine. It was a bit chilly and we were sitting in a sort of outside patio (though largely closed off), and they provided some blankets for warmth which was nice. Indoors they had live music which was nice, though we chose to sit outside for COVID safety. Food was hit and miss. The thai-style BBQ wings were great. The mac n' cheese was similarly good. We weren't as fond of the tuna, or a couple other items. All-in-all, it was a fine dinner, though the menu was a bit disjointed and we certainly had many other places in Mazatlan that we preferred. read more

Where to start? Wow. Fantastic Asian fusion food, a great quiet atmosphere, good service, and tonight good quality music out of the Great American Song Book. Upon entering the restaurant and heading to the back outside eating area I could really pickup a good vibe. Being our first time and noticing all the various types of food and small plates, we decided to order the entire starter menu and taste all the chef had to order. Unfortunately they were out of the crab cakes but we had 7 other dishes to share incline one main entree for the 4 of us. After getting our drinks the food started coming out slowly as we asked. The timing was great and we were there over 2 hrs to get through the savory dishes and desserts. First up was the shrimp goyza. Nice tender goyza stuffed with plenty of Mazatlán shrimp to make your mouth happy. These were very good and very satisfying. 6 cone to an order. Next was the cheese plate served with various soft and hard cheeses including one brie. Served with berries to compliment the cheeses, this was a good dish to share. Up next was the beet carpaccio with goat cheese. The beets were delicious, sweet, and tender. Taking a bite with the goat cheese was a great combination. Following the beats was the salmon poke. This isn't really what I call poki as it was really seasoned salmon saahimi strips and were they excellent! Each piece melted in your mouth. We then had a Scotch Egg which is like cooking and egg in ground chorizo and the cooked in a ball and cut in half to be served. We really liked the flavors and eggs always go with chorizo no matter how you combine them. Next was the Hawaiian style fried chicken which was fantastic. Perfectly fried crispy outside with a moist and tender breast of chicken under the crunch. This was paired with a mango corn chutney that was perfect eaten with the chicken. Finally we shared the braised pork ribs. These were so meaty and tender along with great flavor that we were stuffed after this dish but not too stuffed for dessert! For dessert we had the pumpkin pie and carrot cake. Both were very good. This is one of the best meals I have had in Mazatlán and is going on my list of weekly regulars to visit on my next visit back to Mazatlan. 5 solid stars The song of this review is "Light My Fire" by The Doors. read more

We love the new location, it's very colorful, and nicely decorated. We sat in the patio, which was very romantic. There was a live guitarist/singer who was great! Beautiful voice. We are going to try to see him again at another place. We started with cocktails. Mine was a Hendricks cucumber one that was fantastic! Mojito also very good. The menu here is bigger, and we ended up having all appetizers because they were so enticing. First was a crabcake, just delicious. Also beet carpaccio with goat cheese, yummy too. Then Szechuan shrimp, overpowered a little by the sauce. Pork tenderloin with a nut sauce, really good. By this time we were full, but still had tuna ceviche, which was very good, but I think we would have appreciated it more had we not been stuffing it in! read more

I was taken here because my friends bragged about this place. If it wasn't for the music, (Carlos Santana) tribute band, i would have had the most disappointing dining experience my whole vacation in Mazatlan. After being seated, took 15 minutes before anyone aknowledged we were here. Another 15 to order. Then 45 minutes to get our food. I ordered the portabella chicken with garlic creme sauce. Chicken was dry and it wasn't any where near a garlic sauce. Last i ordered a beer and it took 7 minutes to arrive. I'm so sad i had this experience i was so looking forward to a good meal at a highly recommend place. Not sure if I'll ever go back. However like i said the music was awesome read more

Water's Edge was a terrific food find for our party of 11. Great host, service and the food was excellent! We read the menu posted on the outside and it sounded delicious but you never really know. However, we all thought it could be a nice change from the local food fare. When we arrived we had no idea but the owner is from Vancouver, Canada and we are all from the "other" Vancouver (Washington). They did not disappoint. read more

Frankly I was disappointed. 5* reviews was the draw and claims of a unique menu. It is a pleasant space but the food was mediocre definitely not anything special. Crab cake appetizer boring. Main course over cooked. Service was odd with one waiter telling the other waiter to go wait on our table. And the meal was the most expensive of all the places we've been in Mazatlán. I would not go back - too many other better options. Not worth the money. read more

An exceptional dining experience, atmosphere, service and most importantly food were all outstanding. We shared the vegetarian gyozos Japanese dumplings, I savored the vegetarian raviolis in rich, intense pomodoro sauce and my husband enjoyed every drop of his large bowl of ramen served with three delicious sauces. It was refreshing to have so many vegetarian options, yet the meat based dishes being served around us were receiving kudos as well. Every dish we experienced or saw were beautifully presented. We have been in the restaurant business for over 20 years, my husband as a chef, over 30 and we recognize quality when we see it. I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Water's Edge AND enjoying w|e Chef Alastair Porteous' incredible fare at a Farm-to-Table event during a recent trip to Mazatlan. EVERYTHING that matters about a restaurant is top-notch. The food was single-handedly the BEST (fresh/flavorful/no crumb left behind) I had during my 8-day trip. Seriously delicious cocktails & specialty margaritas served up in the most beautiful atmosphere /ambiance (indoor & secluded outdoor patio). Even the staff was great - attentive, helpful, fun and happy! Deciding was tough, I'm not gonna lie - we ordered as much as we could to share (when you read the menu you'll understand). Everything about Water's Edge was fantastic and made for a fun and delicious evening! Can't wait to return to continue to eat through the menu & attend a cooking class with Alastair. read more
