We have been to Waters Edge 3 times now. The wine is solid. When I hear local winery in PA, my expectations are low. This however, is a franchise of a California winemaker, with wine varietals from all over the world. I am partial to the Loretta red blend, however there are quite a few others that are pretty decent. In addition to wine by the glass or bottle, there are 3 or 6 pour flights available, which is a great way to decide what you like. The food menu features casual fare with tapas, salads, flatbreads, burgers, etc. The whipped ricotta with toast points is fantastic. The fried Brussels and hummus platter are also good. Great ambience, love the decor and the vibe. Pleasant music playing, at first my husband thought it was a live one man band, but it wasn't, just sounded so. Spacious layout, so you're not on top of your neighbors. It can get loud in there, but it's not overwhelming. They also have a room for private parties. read more

Celebrated my best friend's birthday last night with 2 other friends and we had such an amazing time! The apps were great along with the wine flights and espresso martinis. Here for a lunchtime wine tasting. The place is fairly new and quite large. A ground floor with tables by the windows looking out on Doylestown, near to the courthouse. It is quite spacious. It is 1230pm on a Wednesday and there were a handful of other diners. We chose 6 wines, an ounce each, for $20. It is a California based winemaker with franchises around the country. We tried an Armenian grape Voskahut. The wines were actually very good. My wife liked the 2021 Montserrat Chardonnay I preferred the Loretta a red blend mostly Merlot. Our server was Christina. Bathrooms were roomy and spotlessly clean. The place has only been open since March 9. We bought two bottles to take home and perform another assessment. I have no idea what people with poor reviews are talking about here. This is one of the most kind, generous (gave me 5 different wines to taste), helpful (Taylor) staff in what is obviously a close knit Italian family run restaurant. My son works in this restaurant and comes home every shift with a delightful story about the owners and how they treat the staff. Nicole came to our table whenever we were there (not knowing our son's name - until we decided to tell her) and made warm and lovely conversations with us. With any new venture there will be a learning curve. Let's give them charitable assumptions and a little understanding that they are doing their best. Love this place. I have a feeling they re new and still getting their kinks out. It's a nice space but service on a very busy Saturday was not great - although friendly. Food is "ok" with some things better than others. The pommel frittes was very disappointing and not frites at all but soggy regular french fries. Procutto wrapped asparagus was tasty however as was the whipped ricotta. Tried a few of the wines and they were palatable and probably what you'd expect for 12 dollar glass. You don't come here for the wine that's for sure. I'm not looking for world class wine but it should taste like the varietal and should be nice tasting at the very least. But they have a huge selection which can be kinda fun as long as your expectations are set that this is very low end wine. For dinner we shared a few of the cubano piannis and they were very good except had way too much mustard to the point where we had to disassemble the sandwich to remove some of it. Now we had 3 native Puerto Ricans at the table (yes they eat a lot of cubanos in PR) and if it wasn't for the mustard these would be top notch cubanos. So they clearly have a quality issue in the kitchen. Mt Cobb salad came 15 mins after every one else's food - yep a simple salad with grilled chicken for some reason. Salad was fine but they brought wrong dressing and it was terrible. I'm pretty sure it was the blue cheese but hard to say because I think it was just straight mayo from an institutional brand. Tried to pop in on a Saturday at 5:30pm when the restaurant was completely empty maybe 5 tables occupied. Hostess said they had reservations for the entire night and they could not help us. That within "15mins" they would be full. No where on the site states reservations only. A great addition to Doylestown located just steps away from the courthouse. Waters Edge is an upscale winery and bistro with wallet-friendly pricing. The staff is very friendly and go above and beyond to ensure customers are happy. They offer wine in tastings, by the glass, and bottle. They also offer sangria and wine slushies. The food is delicious and many of the menu options have wind suggestions which is very helpful. I would recommend stopping by! Great service, ambiance, and decor, and superb food! My wife and I shared a Whipped Ricotta & Honey and, by itself, was worth the visit. Quite unique and delicious. Crispy Brussel Sprouts were excellent, as was the Steak with Chimichurri. The flatbread was generous in size and the best flatbread I have ever eaten. We tasted 6 wines (they pour each sample at your table, a nice touch) and were surprised at how good they were, well worth the price and far superior to PA wines. We had my granddaughter's "baby naming ceremony " at Waters Edge last Sunday afternoon. About 50 people attended. Nicole and Eric and their staff did a spot-on effort in working with us, making it a smooth and wonderful event. General warning to Doylestown diners. Don't go to Water's Edge. Water's Edge is an absolute embarrassment and disgrace to Doylestown. If this place isn't out of business in the next few weeks I will be shocked. I made a reservation for Mother's Day at which point I was told it would be a Prix Fixe menu. Showed up and they had an Al a carte menu. Server doubles down when I ask about this saying that the Al a carte menu is in fact prix fixe. The fact that a restaurant doesn't know the difference between prix fixe and a la carte is a red flag. We are the first seating and arrive 10 minutes before any other customers. Server takes our order right away. We wait as five more tables fill in. There are six servers working plus three bartenders. All five other tables that arrived after us get their food first. Hilarious part is every single table got the wrong order. At this point the whole restaurant laughing at how ridiculous the situation is. The table next to us got three separate rounds of food that were all wrong before we even got our order. Typically when there is a mess up of this magnitude the restaurant tries to comp something but no attempt was made (don't think they can afford it). Oh all this time our server was still not seen. By the time we got our food we asked to get it packed to go so we could get out of the loony bin as fast as we could. Don't bother trying to patronize a business that does not understand the fundamentals of operating a business and will not be around in a month. If you read the positive reviews, they are all about the bar. Read the negative reviews about the dining experience. Easily the worst dining experience of my life and for context I've eaten inside a Taco Bell before. It's a guarantee that there will either be new management or a new business taking over that location in the coming months. Wait for that before visiting. read more

Food is excellent - we were a party of 11 and had several different items off the menu, from the appetizers to the mains, all were very good if not great! Fresh, well prepared, well presented, nothing too salty, greasy, over or undercooked. Nothing drenched in sauce - everything just right! Why 3 stars? The wine. This does not feel like a winery at all. Feels like a restaurant. Has a bar, plenty of seating, and the ambiance was fine - modern if not a touch of "art deco" influence. Clean and bright with plenty of space so one never felt crowded. Back to the wine. The menu has plenty to offer, but the main problem is none of it is special. It's about what one would expect to find in this part of PA. Nothing was "dry" despite being labeled so on the menu - in fact everything was sweet with too much residual sugar, with little to discern one red from the other. It wasn't bad. But I'd not buy a bottle for home. About the best was a dry (still too sweet) sparkling Brut. I am not sure if they are making their own or purchasing from the franchise. Grapes are sourced, not grown. We would go back - the food is just that good, the wine is passable. But it does not feel like a "winery" at all. read more

Giving them 5 stars to try to combat some of the harsh opening weekend reviews. We have eaten here a couple of times. Each time we have only had wine and charcuterie, but both were enjoyable visits. They allow you to have a taste of the wine if you are unsure. The charcuterie boards are both ample sizes. The large one can easily be a meal for 4 people or an app for 6. The servers we have had both times have been kind and helpful. Give it a try and let them continue to work out some of the kinks. My only complaint is that each time we have gone they have been out of a couple of their wines. The first time they were out of Sauvignon Blanc on a warm day. I would recommend having more than one type of the more popular wine types or have more ample stock. read more

This is a great Bistro & the wine selection is different & a good variety. They are open on Sundays now. The service was fabulous (we were the only ones sitting at a table.) The small charcuterie board was fabulous & plenty for 3. All of the food was amazing!! The cocktails were delicious. The chef paid attention to my daughter's food allergies & the server made sure all was ok for her. They had a nice selection of beers also. Went to Waters Edge this past Wednesday and what a great experience! The location is beautiful and quaint and the restaurant is beautifully decorated and arranged. I love the wine pairing choices and they have so many wonderful reds to choose from. To date my favorite is Luna Rosa and just like it says, big, bold and bountiful! And Yum. Food, all delicious - Whipped Ricotta & Honey, Cabernet Sliders, Crispy Brussel Sprouts and Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus. I need to go back to taste more items on the menu. Love the vibe of the place. Wait staff is very attentive and helpful. Happy to see how busy this newly opened winery and bistro is especially during the week. Also snuck a peak at a private room downstairs and will mention that to friends for private parties for work, holidays etc. Great new place to try. read more
