In the last week, while visiting, we came upon this place, and ate there twice. Simple food done well, with a calming view of the river - from inside or better, the deck. We were told that anything from the smoker was worth doing. Had their smoked pork sandwich. Good. Then on the next visit, their fall off the bone ribs. A very accurate description. Very well done. Should have asked for more sauce, but still was a wonderful and relaxing meal. Good service, and my wife liked her old fashioned too. When we are back that way again, we look forward to another meal. They make you put a deposit down with a credit card and charge you the 3% no choice to pay cash. Plus they add 20% gratuity to the bill including on the tax is unacceptable, again no option to give less. Prices are very high there is so much better elsewhere. Our waiter was very patient with us as we ordered drinks then asked him to take photos outside then order food after. I'm glad he didn't get annoyed at us for taking some time with that so the customer service was great! We order sangria for drinks and they were different than any other sangria I've had before but it was good! I have a lot of allergies in food so I decided to order a few appetizers and my boyfriend ordered the pasta dish. It was a nice venue and I believe it turns into a bar later on at night but we didn't stay long after eating as we had drinks prior and just wanted to go back to the hotel. I came here for New Year's Eve. It is valet only. It does get very busy on the weekends. It's a fun place for dancing.

We reserved an outdoor table but were seated right next to the kitchen instead, which was disappointing. When we asked to start with appetizers, the waiter James gave us attitude and said we had to be ready to order everything at once, from appetizers to entrees. Throughout the evening, the service was unfriendly and unhelpful, for example, when the food came out, we didn't even have plates and had to ask. The waiter brushed it off and told us to wait a few more minutes. Honestly, the service was the worst part of the night. On top of that, when we asked for a simple photo, James responded with, 'okay, but just one photo,' which felt unnecessarily rude. I had my baby's first birthday here and it was a great experience. Had about 65 guests and they were all very pleased with the venue as well as the food that they served. The venue was beautiful with lots of natural light with the view of NYC. The manager that was in charge of my event, Shantal was so lovely to work with. This was my second time at this location and definitely had a better time this time around. My friends took me out for my birthday and made reservations for 6pm. When I arrived I pulled up to valet and its only tip. I walked in and was greeted by the hostess and she sat me with my friends. The ambiance and view of this place outweighs everything else. Cosmo was our waiter and he was good. For my first drink I got the raspberry martini and it was ok. I then switched to pinot nior which was ok. For dinner I got the mushroom pappardelle. It was just ok, I had to add salt for a better taste. My friends got the chicken and the steak frite. They both said the food was just ok. The only problem with this place as I been here twice and the food is just mediocre. Eveything else from the service and the ambiance is pretty good. First of all, they have these heaters that are on you the whole time you eat and you're sweating to death. The shrimp cocktail was good something that's very hard to screw up. We had a beet salad and they gave you a quarter size cheese with a ton of beets. When we ask for more cheese, the waiter looked at us like we were from another planet. He did bring a little more cheese which they charged us for. I had a $49 filet mignon that was overcooked sent it back then it came back rare there was no winning with this. My friend had a pasta she liked it. It was good. I tasted. It wasn't anything out of this world. Our server was very nice. He made some suggestions but after a while, it got slower the service let's say the place is beautiful. This time around we ordered filet minon, scallops, tuna tartar, salmon, bang bang shrimp and tuna. All were hands down cooked to Perfection and incredibly tasty as always. For dessert we shared the cream brûlée, chocolate cake and bread pudding. The chocolate cake was my absolute FAVORITE!! I swear I'd rerun just for that dessert! The cake was HUGE. This is a well known hangout spot with a "waterside" dining experience overlooking NYC. I have yet to dine in so I can not comment on this experience, but I come here to enjoy a drink or two, and to check out the view. They have indoor and covered outdoor seating. Also, uncovered by the water for those nice summer nights. Great date spot if you're trying to impress someone, but it is also a club/lounge type of place so it can be crowded at times. I've been here a few times for events. You have to use the valet or you risk getting towed in an unauthorized area. I suppose it's reasonable for there not to be a lot of parking options on the water. The decor of the restaurant is nice enough. There's windows along the walls for a million dollar view of the Hudson River and NYC. I think the view is most likely this places best attraction. I can't really speak for the price, but the person who had their party here said it was the cheapest they could find. I'm skeptical. They served the food buffet style and had an open bar. The drinks and the food were both very good! I'm sure you get to chose your menu specific to your party. Go to their website for specifics on booking your party. Went to dinner here on a Saturday night with a group of 6. The music and liveliness really picked up around 10 pm. As for our dinner, it started on a poor note with murky tap water with pieces of something swimming in it. The manager did see and pretty quickly gave us bottled water that he did not charge for. We shared appetizers- onion rings tower (5/5), stuffer zucchini blossoms (2/5), bang bang shrimp (4/5), spicy tuna tartare (3/5), arugula salad (3/5), Brussel sprouts (2/5), baked clams (4/5). The overall appetizer standout was the onion ring tower followed closely by the bang bang shrimp and baked clams. Unfortunately, all the others were extremely mediocre. For entrees, I tried the black ink pasta (5/5) which was really well balanced with the butter sauce, chilis, and shrimp (generous shrimp portion!) They warned me that that dish was spicy but I found it to have mild spice if any. The other entree I tried was the seafood capellini (3/5) which came highly recommended by the waiter. Unfortunately this one fell short on flavor. The pasta itself did not fit into the fish and tasted like it belonged in a kids menu rather than a complex seafood dish. The seafood itself was fresh and a generous portion. We finished off with the cheesecake which was my personal favorite dish of the entire meal. The consistency was perfect and the contrast of the fruits added a tart flavor to every bite. We did order a coffee that we never recieved but they removed it from our bill when we brought it up. The restaurant does have a beautiful view especially the enclosed outdoor area which does have heaters. Everything came on time and when we asked for something else, he made sure that someone got it to the table. Even his picture taking was impressive. He made sure there was flash - then no empty plates - then nothing distracting on the table when he took the photo. After a certain time, they have a night life. They flat out, informed us that they would not be accommodating to my daughter who has a gluten intolerance. At this age, not being able to simply eliminate flour or gluten from a meal is simply pathetic especially at a restaurant of this caliber. We were really excited to try Waterside, but what started out as a great night, ended up as a horrible evening. The ambiance here is beautiful. Inside and out. We started outside with apps, fried Philly cheesesteak egg rolls and the tomato and mozz. Both were good. We liked the eggrolls more than the tomato and mozz. We both also had drinks, they were good as well. We moved inside for dinner. I got the filet mignon and my partner got the seared tuna as our mains. We were both let down by our dishes. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and was buttery soft, but really lacked in flavor. The sauce they give you to pour over, needs a major flavor overhaul as well. Bummer. $200 later, we left, happy. That changed a few hours later. About 4 hours later, I started to get violently sick. I don't have to detail it. It's everything you can imagine. I was up for 4 hours until my body finished rejecting the food. A few hours after I laid back to sleep, my partner's stomach issues began. Not as violent as mine, but same. I called to speak to the manager, just to make them aware, in case others had called to share the same. He said he hadn't heard of anyone calling to mention food poisoning before. And he said he thinks food poisoning takes about 48 hours to take effect, which can be true in some cases, depending on the bacteria ingested. But not true in my case. My issues started a few hours later. I copied and pasted some common food poisoning germs below for management's reference, so you don't think people are misinformed. These are just some possible types of food poisoning within 30 mins of ingesting food: Staphylococcus aureus (Staph) Symptoms begin 30 minutes to 8 hours after exposure: Nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps. Most people also have diarrhea. Vibrio Symptoms begin 2 to 48 hours after exposure: Watery diarrhea, nausea, stomach cramps, vomiting, fever, chills. I was disappointed in his reaction. I wasn't asking for money or for anything from them. I was simply trying to let the restaurant know. But to almost not acknowledge what happened post eating at their restaurant really lacked accountability. Won't be returning. read more

I used to come here 2010 to 2015 This place was a great restaurant elegance With sweeping views of the city and on a great night they would open the sliding glass doors and you would feel the breeze from every part of the restaurant. The food was great. The atmosphere was great and then they would have DJ music at night. It felt like you are in miami I recently came here again and the whole place changed. It looks like a sports bar with A metal patio eatery that destroyed the whole outdoor vibe. I don't know who decided to read vamp. So sad to give this probably a 2.5 star due to service. We had a dinner reservation at 6pm and were seated right away. We ordered apps and enjoyed them. It wasnt until we got our meal that we felt rushed. We were about an hour into our dinner and the waiter hands us a dessert menu and tells us it's a maximum of 2 hours. I've never felt so rushed at a restaurant before. When we ate dessert, we're handed our check... at one point one of the waiters pointed at their watch and pointed at our table.
