We hadn't taken them to the vet in several years because they are strictly indoor cats and were doing well. But now that they're older and one of them is seriously slowing down, we knew it was time to have them looked at. Our vet, Dr. Rachel, was very gentle and kind, answered all our questions, we never felt rushed at all. She presented a list of tests and their costs (less expensive than we anticipated!), and did not try to "sell" or pressure us into additional tests. It was very collaborative.

Dr. Hana is always so thorough and on her game, as are the techs. They were able to see my dog ASAP after he had a random seizure one day. They were ready for us when I pulled up and worked like a well-oiled machine. The office is small but they have a good system going where you check in from the car and then they tell you when to come in (which is usually right away). Office/rooms are always clean. They seem to be a little on the pricey side but that could very well be attributed to the level of care they provide AND the fact that they are well staffed and always have appointment availability, which is so rare these days.

Things deteriorated from that point onward and after 6 months of second-guessing myself, I decided to leave this clinic. First of all, a readily available treatment option for hyperthyroidism - which my cat later received and was completely cured - was never offered or discussed. Even when I continued to report her poor response to the prescribed drug. Her health declined and she lost weight for about 6-7 months, and then she was diagnosed with kidney failure. This diagnosis was communicated to me by phone, not by the vet who had been seeing my cat for over 4 years but by a new vet I had never met before. From that point on it was as if my regular vet had disappeared. Supporting the pet-owner in times like these is a major responsibility of a vet and I made up my mind to find another clinic. Which I did, and my move to Lake Harriet Veterinary Clinic has helped my cat live an active and healthy life as she gets older.

I called them to see if I could get a refill if my vet in Georgia faxed in a prescription. They informed me of the price, got all my info and said they could call me when it was ready. Hours later I got a call from them informing me that my vet did not fax it in yet. I called my vet and they said they sent it, overall it was a back and forth game but I finally got my prescription. I was impressed that even though my pup was not a regular patient at this clinic; they reached out to me to let me know they had not gotten the prescription. During my second visit, I brought my dogs in because one of them had worms in their stool. The technician and the vet were so helpful and friendly. They each took their time asking me questions, looking at my dogs and asked me questions about life. They were genuinely concerned about my dogs and interested in me. This was impressive because not only did they care about the health of my dogs but they wanted to get to know me as an individual. The entire staff that I encountered were all friendly and helpful. From the lady I spoke with about the prescription to the lady that checked me out. The prices here for the prescription and both dogs being seen was reasonable. I was expecting it to be much higher. I would highly recommend this clinic. If I have any problems again with my dogs when I'm home in MN, this is where I would bring them. **FYI, there business cards are also discount cards. You can get $20 off your first visit if you give it to them, they are by the registers. I didn't notice this until later after my first visit.

I called a nearby vet and they got us in within 2 hours as new patients. We have now switched to the vet who cared enough to see our girl right away and the care she deserves.
