A good place to get your car washed while traveling While visiting the O'Fallon, Missouri area, we decided to stop at Waterway Carwash to clean the car after several days of traveling. The location was easy to find and offered both fuel and a car wash, making it convenient to take care of both at the same stop. We filled up with gas first before heading through the wash. Since this was our first visit to a Waterway location, we weren't familiar with how everything worked. The wash itself was straightforward, and after it was finished, we pulled into one of the vacuum and detailing spaces to wipe down the car. A staff member politely informed us that we had parked in an area reserved for VIP members and directed us to the appropriate area for standard customers when we were pretty much done. It was an easy mistake for first-time visitors to make, but the employee handled it professionally and courteously. The facility itself was very clean and well maintained. The vacuum and detailing areas seemed well organized. The prices also seemed very reasonable for the services provided. Overall, we had a good experience despite our brief confusion about the parking areas. I was a member at waterway for many years. Throughout the years I continued to be a loyal member with all the price increases and the car club packages, gas prices increase. The service is always great! I always had to tell the staff to clean certain areas of my car, which they always missed, however, I still stayed with them. This new program implemented where you drive through on your own, I did not like because I do not like driving inside the carwash. I emailed the customer service regarding this and asked if something could be implemented for customers like me and she just continued on about how this is such a convenience and how you will like it. I felt as though she or the company did not care even with the additional rate increase. I have moved on to another car wash where I am appreciated and it is much less expensive. There's a gas station and very small convenience store here as well as the full service carwash. But, the emphasis is very much on the latter. My washes here have been satisfactory. Employees hand dry your vehicle after it leaves the track-fed carwash. They also vacuum the inside and clean the windows inside and out. Various wash packages are available for one-time needs. An annual subscription plan is offered to regular users. The convenience shop, which is mostly a few packaged snacks and drinks, has a comfortable sitting area where you can watch your vehicle being dried. I usually just do a car wash and vacuum my car at my home. I signed up for Uber about a week ago and I felt like I needed to get it professionally cleaned. Yeah yeah yeah.. I guess I will. So I heard some good things about Waterway. My buddy Bobby highly recommended it. I drove up and a man comes up to the car and convinces me to upgrade to a wheel and tire service as well. He wasn't pushy at all and just flowed with it. You then drive up to the wash where you get out and someone drives the car through the wash and leads outside to where attendants dry and vacuum the inside of your car. Mind you, I got the full service wash. You have the option for an express wash, where you drive in yourself. The location of the car wash is convenient and located off K. I actually went to Green Lantern Carwash off Mid Rivers and line didn't move an inch for a good 10 minutes. Waterway had a wait but they got you through pretty quick. The system they had was more efficient, especially on such a nice day where people are getting a wash. The waiting area was pretty cool. When you first leave your car, there's windows where you can watch your car getting it's wash. I love the transparency. Nothing to hide. You then walk into this convenient store with sodas, snacks, coffees. The cashier was very friendly and put a smile on my face. The actual waiting area was very relaxing and comfortable with a view of your car outside. I learned when the towel is being waved by your car, it is completed. Overall this place is lights out. I usually go here for the most consistent washes. Not 100% perfect but overall a good value. Windows are never that great but I can't do them great myself. Car only has 10k so should be an easy clean. Waterway owners should give these workers a tall overhead shade cover to work under. Cooler employees work better. Cars cleaned and dried in the shade turn out better. Its a win win for us both. read more

Got gas and requested from attendant the "Wheel Deal wash telling him make sure the wipe the seats down good as my grandkids spilled soda on the seats. Was told they do not do any interior wipe down on the Wheel Deal but if I upgraded to the Whole Package at $30 something, that would get done. Car comes out, they wave the towel telling me my car was ready. Back seat never touched other than vacuumed. I politely asked for them to clean the seat. Mid did the one door without inspecting the whole back seat. This is shitty service for what I paid. Plus it was an up-sell as I know the Wheel Deal wipes down the interior. This was a decent Waterway. By decent I mean they actually opened the back of my SUV and ran the vac over the floor and wiped off the inside of the windows. Waterway upcharges for an SUV vs a car and I have been numerous times when they upcharge and don't even open the back. Bravo there! Points off for not giving me the rain guarantee which I would have asked for had I not been in O'Fallon getting a car wash. I went to the O'Fallon MO location with a free coupon they sent me in the mail. I had a problem with car wash. To be honest I can't be sure if the problem was with my car or their equipment. Took my car here for the first time at the O'Fallon location. Dropped it off and purchased the $75 package. Told the guy we wanted to get our second car done. He said ok, so we went back to the house to get our second car. Went to drop it off at the same location, asked to do the $105 package because we wanted the seats shampooed. The attendant said it would be an over hour wait time. We said that's ok as long as they had time (this was at 3o'clock by the way when they close at 8pm) He said ok, we went to go in and pay and he never gave us a ticket. The cashier rang him up on the walkie talkie and the guy came back inside and said to come back tomorrow to get our second car done. We paid for the first car because they already started washing it. Took the second car to the location in Chesterfeild. The attendants were thrilled that we wanted the $105 package. Since our car seats weren't leather, they actually said the $75 package would be cheaper because we wouldn't get the leather seat treatment that was included in the $105 package. They offered to scrub the little spot on the seat for us at no additional cost. Went inside to pay, they gave us a free air freshener which the other place didn't do and offered to call when the car was done. Even though the O'Fallon location is 3 minutes away from the house, will ABSOLUTELY drive to chesterfeild for FAR better customer service. read more

These guys are terrible. You pull up and can rarely get one of the kids to come up to your car so you eventually figure out just quit waiting and head to the wash lane. The basic wash almost never gets the grime off the paint, especially winter salt (I think it's a touch less wash which isn't very good) but then shouldn't their towels touch every surface? Guess not. I usually just make them rerun it. The membership plan has a fast lane you can go in but it's almost worthless because you need your permanent membership card to use it and they take months to get them out. Try talking to the children running the place and they're all clueless on company process and don't have answers. You only get the windows and dash cleaned on Tuesdays so Tuesday's are guaranteed to be the day of the week you don't want to bother coming here because it's so busy. My old wash club did windows and dash and tires daily. Plus you feel obligated to tip the people so your wash becomes more expensive. read more

This is without a doubt THE best carwash in the area! Actually the best I have ever been to! We received a free month in the mail and signed up for the monthly washes! The pricing is great - discounts on gas, upgrades every Tuesday, no high pressure sales, and everyone there is so nice from the person that greets you, to the cashier, to the people drying the car! 100% perfect customer service! The person doing training has to be excellent because they are all very nicely dressed and professional! Seems like they all enjoy their jobs! And, they make you feel like a valued customer! This was my first time at a Waterway and it will be my last. I spent $20 on a car wash thinking as long as I'm paying for a wash I'll get the best. After this car wash I need to go to another car wash to finish the job. Both my mirrors were full of soap and going down the road at any speed splattered the soap down the side of the car where it dried. The next time I got out of the car I saw that the whole side of my car was covered with white spots. There was muddy water running from under the trunk lid and down the entire rear of the car from where the road dust under the trunk lid just got wet but didn't get flushed out. There was still salt film on the rocker panels. The lug holes in my wheels were full of dirt. All this car "wash" did was knock off the dirt clods from being on a muddy road and nothing else. I could have gotten this good of a job at a 50 cent wand wash. read more

I had a really great experience while I was here! I had told the guy at the pump I wanted what I think was the Full service wash. Well, when I went in to pay, I decided that I wanted to change to the winter protection wash. A manager or assistant manager said "no problem" and ran out the door. He later let me know that they had already sent my car into the wash, but he manually took care of it. After they were done drying my car, the guy waved me over introduced himself, asked if everything looked good (it looked better than I expected) and laid a towel down for me to wipe my feet off so I didn't get salt on my freshly vacuumed floor mats!! Water Way car wash on K in O'Fallon, MO has thee worst customer service. Went by there at 2:45 today to get wash and gas. Only one car in line for a wash. They could clean the outside or the inside but not both because they were so busy. Left there and drove down K to Country Club and got the whole car done quickly. They also only had one car in line. I suggest Water Way find a sharper tool to make management decisions. read more

This review is completely directed to Waterways Corporate. My wife and I have been members for close to twenty years. We like the team at this location and it is a shame that their corporate does not support this team or listen to their customers. They have implemented a new payment policy that is terrible. Every customer I speak with and many employees I see at the location acknowledge they are concerned about the change. The employees are careful to not be negative. I feel sorry for the impact this will have on their employees and the reduction in tips the attendants will see as result of this change. I have given my feedback to the corporation but received nothing more than a prepared response that tried to sell me on the changes. Customer service and value on the customer clearly has declined. I have to believe that the amount of lost membership fees has to be more than the cost of any drive offs they incur. I never write reviews but the perceived arrogance by the executives in their leather office chairs frustrates me. Not only for the inconvenience it causes me but as for the impact it has on the great local employees. Now the ball is in Waterways court to either prove me right or wrong. Thanks for letting me vent. UPDATE. I spoke with Todd with their corporate today. I have to say I have never seen a company try to track me down after a negative review than they have. All in a positive and professional manner. I stand corrected! Corporate does care about their customers. Todd listened to my frustrations completely. He helped me clear up a misunderstanding on my part, gave me insight into their vision and he recognized that they know there is a problem with one of my concerns. I am fully convinced they will do their best to rectify. I went to Waterways about 2 weeks ago and was horrified with my experience. I bought the $30 wash and was expecting my 2011 Chevy Tahoe to be immaculate. Instead I got ripped weather-stripping. One of the many teenage boys they have washing the cars must have ripped it somehow with his shoe or a rag while he was doing the interior of my car. Immediately the manager on duty came over and apologized and offered me a free coupon for a wash, really a free coupon? Why on earth would I bring my car or another one of my cars back when someone damaged this one? He said let me take pictures and fill out a claim and have the general manager Jim get back with you. That's what happenedtoday I spoke with Jim, after a lengthy conversation he said there's no way we did that, you must have done it yourself before you came in and it is impossible we would do anything like that.
