I don't really care for Mother's Day brunches or buffets, but I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised at the quality (and quantity) of food at this year's event. We opted to do a late afternoon reservation at 4:30 and were very happy and sated after enjoying all the dishes we chose. Stand outs were the fried chicken and beef filet tenderloin. The carb loading was in full force with delicious stuffed shells, Mac and cheese and pierogis. All were worthy of second helpings, although I refrained! Actually all the hot entrees were very good. The salad bar was a bit disappointing and there was no one manning the pasta station. But there was more than enough other options to make up for that. Desserts were the only place there wasn't a huge offering. Most of my group opted for the Bananas Foster. They loved it! Our server was pleasant and regularly checked in to see if we needed water or to take away dirty dishes. And the atmosphere was pleasant with an industrial vibe. Now I'd like to return for a real meal, a dinner or lunch, not a buffet. read more

I finally visited Morelands at Waterworks. I enjoyed the food and the prices were reasonable. I sat in the Beautiful outdoor space with entertainment and a very good selection of beer on tap - perfect for summertime. The staff was friendly and efficient. I'll be going back soon. read more

Another amazing meal at this fine restaurant! We booked a private room during their sunday brunch buffet to celebrate our son's baptism! The environment was very welcoming and their Christmas decor was the talk of the group! Our waitress Brea took care of our almost 30 person group with ease! No confusion or mishaps regardless of our rowdy crew! Wide selection of breakfast and lunch items including custom options like waffle, omelet, and pasta bar! My husband and i even enjoyed a delicious winter mimosa flight from the bar which was delicious! They also offer many drink options included in their buffet price which helped make it easier for a large group! My favorite items were the french toast casserole and the customizable hot chocolate bar! T'was the weekend before my best friend's birthday and as it happens every year it is always the weekend of St Patrick's Day celebration everywhere. And as always when it's your birthday you get to choose the venue. She picked the Waterworks in Greensburg. Well this is the second time I was here as she picked Waterworks last year as well. The H and I arrived early, partially to avoid the cover charge and we did want to eat as well. The place is large with several banquet rooms for rent to people interested in hosting an event. The main dining area and bar area share one open room. There is a dance floor separating the two. That night they had a band the Lucky something, and as we arrived they were setting up to start around 9pm. We got there a little before 7:30. Honestly I was not at all impressed with the servers, and there were easily 4-5 of them. At this point the place wasn't that busy and yet the waitress took over ten minutes just come to the table to take our drink orders. We sat at a big table though it was just the two of us because our bigger party was coming later. The drink selection was meh. Mostly domestics on tap and a few select bottles but I wasn't digging the selection. Too bad with a name like Waterworks I guess I was imagining they would have a lot better selection. Onto the food, meh again. It was a very basic menu. Didn't match the more modern décor. It was a basic bar/lunch menu. I didn't see any specials on the menu nor were we made aware if there was any so the selections were limited to a laminated two sided menu. They had apps, salads, flatbreads, wraps, and some burgers. Nothing stood out really. I got the shrimp wrap. It was ok, I was hungry so I had no problem eating it all, just was really basic. My H had one of the flatbreads (BBQ Chicken) and I was jealous. Wish I would have went that route with different toppings because it looked tasty. My friend and her H had a quesadilla that she said was really good. I guess I just wasn't on the same page as far as the flavors went. Oh well it happens. I do want to say I had a great time here despite the food/drink limitations. The band was pretty good though I really don't like 80's music, they did mix it up with some 90's stuff too, and my company was great. So I can't complain. I don't think I would ever choose this place to come back to eat at unless it was for lunch and I for some reason was in the area, but that is unlikely. But the green beer did flow, though I wasn't drinking it! Coors Lite was the offering and I really, really don't like Coors Lite. read more

When I was in my 20s, my friends and I had no problem finding places to hang out - the Endzone in Mt. Pleasant, Sharkey's in Latrobe, and the Great 'Mistake', Boomer's, Bobby Dales, and The Loft in Greensburg. But the last three have closed down and - let's face it - most of my friends are married, have kids, or both. It's not like we're going out drinking every night and staying out til 4 in the morning anymore. But, we still need a place to go, especially when it's a special occasion, like someone's birthday. I have been to Waterworks a handful of times - a few times for my birthday, which is the day after St, Patty's and you simply cannot escape that madness! (who would want to?!) - and for a few friends' birthday celebrations. My husband and I ventured out here last night for a good friend's birthday. There were 6 of us and we were able to find a high top table. Although it only seated four, we pulled chairs over. It was a little crowded but we were up dancing, getting drinks, etc. so it was no big deal. All of us arrived around 9:30 - 9:45, so none of us ate, but I believe they were still serving food. I have eaten here in the past, and the food has always been fine. It's not great, but it'll do if you're out drinking for the night. There was a band, Fonic, and they played a decent mix of classic rock, 80s, and some more modern stuff. I remember the bands being good in the past, as well. My only issue here is that there was a $7 cover - not cool. $5 should be the limit. I mean, we are in Greensburg. Regardless, there was a waitress who cleaned our table off several times. And, each time I went to the bar, I was waited on quickly and the bartenders seemed friendly enough. Although the place was crowded, things appeared to be running smoothly. More pros: They have a nice outside area which is well-lit, there are a few seating areas for smokers also, the bathrooms are clean. Also, there are a few sections: the big bar area and dance floor, dining area, room with a pool table, back bar, etc. It can get a little loud, so if you need to escape, there are places to go.The crowd is a little older (late 20s to late 50s as a guess), so although it's loud and people are dancing around and drinking, it doesn't seem like things get really out of hand here. (Although, I do miss watching a good bar fight...) More cons: As I said, it can get really loud with the band playing. So, if you're looking to sit down and have a nice, relaxing dinner - go early. Also, parking around the building kind of sucks. When we were leaving, there was a catering van pulled up along the building, making me have to maneuver slowly around as not to hit the van or the parked cars to my left. There is, however, overflow parking in the form of a gravel lot across the street. Again, the cover charge is a little ridiculous. Can't comment on the place for a bridal shower, baby shower, or wedding reception, but I would be curious to know - for curiosity's sake - how they did in those departments. When we were there, I noticed several chairs set up in one of the banquet rooms, as if someone was getting married there. Don't think they would have been my first choice (or second or third...) but I'm still curious. I've never been here for lunch and probably wouldn't stop in just for that. But, overall, not a bad place to go for someone's birthday or to hang out on the weekend. read more

**** Addendum to original review***** Mother's day Brunch So apparently not all is equal here for holiday's vs regular brunch. I decided to make reservations a week prior since I know mother's day would be packed. The flyer that they had put out for this event stated that brunch would run from 10AM-5PM on Sunday. There normal buffet includes unlimited Mimosa's and Bloody Mary's. Upon arrival of our 2pm reservation there was no line but a decent wait, which was expected being the nature of the day. Once seated our waitress got our drinks and we all started off with mimosas. Onto the buffet, since I order orange juice based drink, I typically like to start with breakfasty items...well there were none...zero...not even a table of where they used to be. So I moved on to the chicken and mashed potatoes. Arriving back to my seat I noticed we still didn't have silverware or napkins. After asking 3 people, I manage to acquire us utensils. The server came back over to ask us how we were doing and I said since there are no breakfast items I wanted a Bloody Mary instead of another mimosa. She said that they were all out of them. Not one table had an empty Bloody Mary glass on it. How many did you actually plan for? By the end of the meal when the bill came and I saw I was still being charged 28.95 a meal, I was irritated. I asked the server hen breakfast ended and she said 2:00PM is when they "ran out" and stopped seating people. In my fury, she did apologize and took off 1 meal (28.95) off my entire bill. I assured her it wasn't her fault but it was poorly managed and poorly advertised. I really enjoyed going to brunch here but know better now that holidays and special events here are questionable. read more

I have been here a few times and It looks great on the outside and inside. The bar area is quite large so you don't feel like you are crammed in. The outside courtyard is a great place to sit on a hot summer night and enjoy few drinks. We ordered the soft pretzels as an appetizer and a special tomato-provolone pizza for dinner. Both were very good. Other times, I have enjoyed the chicken quesadilla and salad. The main problem is that it takes quite awhile to get your food. On this evening, Our server was covering tables with large groups both inside and the outside courtyard. She was very friendly, got our orders correct and apologized for the delay. I would have given a higher rating but from our previous experience a wait for the food is expected. read more

Nice place in Greensburg, Great venue for large parties or wedding receptions. We came there on a Saturday evening, and it was nice. I could see this place being a hot spot for night light on a Friday or Saturday Night. They had a good selection of beer, not just bud and miller. This place is very off the normal business corridors but is the best Sunday brunch even if it was $5 than its $17.97 total including tax! This is real food that is chef prepared and put in huge chrome buffet stations with signs so you can choose easily. White tablecloths, real silverware, and great presentation. The perks show the class of the place. Full choice of breads including croissants and bagels. Full salad bar. Full dessert table. 4 or 5 meat and fish choices. Fresh fruit. Place is huge and can do table setups for large groups to couples. Wait staff is very busy but attentive. Expect a line I would say mist Sunday's. Follow signs, it is in an industrial park area back off of Rt 119. Forget Eat 'n Park if you want real high quality meat dishes. Your family will be glad you made the effort to find this place!! Please, please do NOT even consider having your wedding here. In short: the owners were completely unprofessional, ignoring us for hours while they sat at their own bar playing trivia and drinking. We waited for over two hours to see the reception room (the event coordinator was waitressing and couldn't help us). We were shocked to learn from the bartender that the owners had been there the whole time and were aware of our presence. As we were leaving, the owner (Kelly) had the nerve to approach us and ask why we couldn't just make an appointment for another time. Incredulous! We explained that after spending the night there at the restaurant, we planned to look elsewhere for a venue. Kelly replied to us "Ok. Fine. Bye." It's disappointing, since the venue (but certainly not the neighborhood) is nice. However, we are so relieved to have witnessed their unprofessionalism and rudeness first hand before ever booking an event/wedding with them. Imagine the disaster that could have been! read more

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Greensburg. The food choices are unique but they also offer things everyone likes. The salad bar is very fresh with a lot of choices. The night we were there they had a Caribbean buffet for only $10.99 that my husband raved about. There were so many different kinds of meat! Waterworks also has one of our favorite outdoor dining areas. What really stood out was our last visit. There was a torrential downpour and the staff quickly and efficiently moved everyone indoors, while helping each other. Waterworks is interesting. For (South) Greensburg, it's a little off the beaten path, on a stretch of the Broad Street Extension that you'd probably never notice unless you're Hufftown born and bred. It seems to totally work as a banquet facility, and that's kind of the atmosphere, except it also functions as a bar when there's no event happening. Plus, if you're from the area, you'll see a lot of familiar faces here. Pros: Spacious, cheap beer and good selection, nice waitstaff. Good pool table, too. Cons: Almost certainly out of your way, unless you live in South Greensburg. read more

Worst place i think have ever been. a dive bar is better then this place. Staff is rude and the owners even worse. Horrible food, they only had 3 things on the menu. Had a group of high end clients in and they asked for a fun night out I recommended the band switch and upon arrival they were told the show was canceled even after I checked Waterworks website. On the website it says welcome switch june 22 well dam thats today and now I look like a jerk for sending my high end clients there. Never again. Also beer was 4.00 a bottle. Go to another bar 5 mins away its 2.00. These owners have no business owning a business. read more

Just a suggestion for the owners. Professionalism goes a long way. You don't corner the bride on her wedding day and call her a liar, nor do you threaten the groom to ruin his day. I don't know a hell of a lot about business but I'm pretty sure taking swings at patrons is not a good way to promote your business. Any issues should not be dealt with in front of guests. You have an otherwise beautiful venue and I just think acting less trashy might go a long way for you. :) read more

We just came to Waterworks for the first time for Sunday Brunch and it was by far my favorite breakfast/brunch buffet i have ever been to. Made to order omelettes, pasta station, tons of breakfast and lunch selections and everything was delicious! Drinks were included (FREE MIMOSAS!) and the service was just exceptional. Had our wedding reception in the banquet facility. I can' say enough great things about it. Tim Carson and his team were amazing! Very accommodating staff. The room looked beautiful and the food was delish. Especially the mac and cheese and stuffed mushrooms. I'm still getting comments from friends and relatives about the stuffed chicken... moist, flavorful and just downright YUMMY! We've also been there several times in the restaurant/bar area. Black and Blue sandwich is huge and very good. Hubby likes the pot stickers. I also think the Pink Lady martini is worth the drive. We've never stayed long enough to hear the bands, but we plan too. read more

I come here because my husband likes it and he is not picky. We have eaten here 12 - 15 times and every single time they are out of something. Tonight they were out of Bloody Mary mix. The waitress informed me they ran out last week and are waiting for the truck to arrive. In a non-chain restaurant surely they can go to the grocery store and buy a bottle of mix. My spaghetti was old, even hard in some places, the ranch tasted like tarter sauce, buffalo dip recipe has changed (they were not out of it tonight) and was full of onions, no ice in the iced tea just to mention a few things. When I compared the reviews to my own experience here, I have to say that something must be missing in the translation. My little sister had her wedding reception here, and despite the abhorrent reviews and tales of angry encounters, she decided to book this venue. I feared for the worst, and became more frightened as the day drew nigh. Finally, it came...and went...without interruption. Really peaceful wedding. The Waterworks was clean, well staffed, and safe...in fact, it was so safe that a baby cousin ran around the courtyard in the early evening after a bite (or several) of icing. We were treated as valued guests, and even offered a "snack" that was hand delivered by the owner whilst awaiting our introductions. Frankly, I'd have my own wedding here! I mean, we had three pretty bartenders who were polite, efficient, and friendly. They gabbed with everyone and showed up in the morning when we were setting up to offer some congratulations. I attended a wedding this weekend at Waterworks, my first and last time! I was never so appalled at the owners getting into an argument with the groom in front of invited guests! The Owner also tried to hit the grooms father, professionalism is NOT high on the priority list for these owners then they threaten to ruin the wedding for the bride and groom on such a special day! Whatever issues should not have been in front of guests! I posted on their website but of course taken off wonder why?????? Can't take criticism! Have have been to many weddings in my life and would not recommend this venue for any bride or groom or any other occasion for that matter! The only place I know around that charges a cover charge to get in. My wife and I came to watch Moonshine Steele play here. We were so uncomfortable and others were also commenting on how warm it was inside. I ordered a great dinner but being so hot inside I couldn't finished my dinner, I had sweet pouring down my back. For the ridiculous cover charge ya'll need to get a better AC unit and fix the horrible parking lot. We didn't even stay long and we always stay for the whole show when Moonshine Steele plays anywhere. I could see why so many people were leaving. read more
