Fantastic little place in downtown area. The atmosphere is semi-industrial and very relaxed and the wait staff is extremely attentive, friendly, helpful and informative. We totally enjoyed this place and will definitely return. The food is a mix of American and eclectic and quite varied. We entered and sat down at a table in the bar area. It took 10 minutes before we had to go ask for a server. We were told that they would be there shortly. When the server showed up no silverware or plates. The order was taken and then the additional wait begins. We had 2 Bar Nine burgers with fries seasoned with Obay seasoning. When it came out the food temperature was warm at best and zero seasoning on the fries. We come here at least monthly and the service, food and attitude of staff is dropping faster than the titanic. I just had the worst experience here. I called twice prior to getting a group of 30 together to watch the Steeler game. I talked to two different people two weeks prior. They made it very clear that they don't reserve tables. We got there early claimed two tables- to sit and drink from. First they acted like they didn't know, then we needed to put all 30 people on one bill, then they couldn't accommodate us, then they can't hold tables they told us to leave!!! We had an early dinner here on the way to the Latrobe airport. We sat outside but could still here the beachy live music being played indoors, so the vibe was great. We started out with the loaded truffle fries. I would definitely get it again. They were loaded the perfect amount and just the right level of crispy. For my main dish I got the Bar Nine Burger with a side salad. The side salad was huge! The burger was juicy and had amazing bacon on it. Pro tip: their ranch is phenomenal. Have had dinner here previously and enjoyed until tonight. Diner beware. First set of utensils, the knife was stuck to the cloth napkin via food-gross. My second set of utensils, the fork still had old food stuck to it-gross x 2. Then I noticed my water glass had 2 spots of something stuck to the inside of the glass- gross x 3. I came to Bar 9 late on a Friday night to celebrate my friends birthday. It was busy but we didn't need to wait for a table. We got a seat on the patio, which was nicer than I expected. Their patio area is very cute. To drink I just ordered a margarita. It was not the best. It tasted like the mix you buy at Walmart and I could not taste the tequila. It took me two hours to drink it. My friends all go drinks that they advertised on their cocktail menu and said they were good, so maybe don't go off the menu like I did! For my meal I ordered lobster mac n cheese, which was probably not the best option for a bar. I have mixed feelings about this. The noodles and cheese were great, but the lobster had a weird texture to me. Almost like it was just frozen lobster and was not fresh. It was kind of chewy, I tried to avoid the lobster pieces. My friends got the sandwiches and burgers and they liked their food a lot. The waitress was very nice and everything came out pretty quick. It wasn't an expensive meal either. Out of towners here. Needed a quick meal later in the evening. Around 8pm ish we found Bar Nine on Yelp. Wow what a great place. Very friendly staff that told us to help ourselves to whatever table we wanted. We were quickly greeted by Amber and she quickly took our beer orders and then food orders after delivery of the beers. We got a French dip to share that came with hand-cut fries. Delicious! If we're ever in Greensburg or know someone going there we will highly recommend! read more

It's hard to find this place, on the corner of a corner. Service was very slow, and not busy when we got in there. And they were out of orange juice for a drink my wife wanted, which is hard to believe when there's a huge gas station across the street, and a dollar store within a half mile. Food was very good, I got pulled pork, mac and cheese very cheesy and creamy. My wife got a burger and I really liked the meat and bacon on it. I was pleasantly surprised by the changes at Bar 9. I only visited twice before when the restaurant first opened. This week I noticed many improvements. It was an oddly warm night so we were able to sit on the patio. The patio has several heaters keeping the space at the perfect temperature. It has a great little lounge area in the corner perfect for summer time. Our server was prompt and explained the menu and specials. Tuesday nights it's taco night. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich - very good! It comes with Mac and cheese. Overall everything I ate was really good. THE BAD The menu had a listening called "crab cakes" It didn't list that it had this mayo/mustard mix. (it gives it a sour taste) it's gross. We asked if we could get new ones. No problem right? Waitress takes the old ones (she claimed to throw away) the one crab cake I had taken a bite out if already. She brings new crab cakes and I take a bite. The one is perfectly fine. Taste normal. The other one however that I didn't bite yet. Tasted just like the original crab cakes with the nasty condiment. I asked the waitress if they just wiped it off. She claimed she threw it away. I had my girlfriend try it. She believed they both tasted vastly different as well. . . I understand crab is expensive. But you don't try to pull a fast one on your customers. Label what's on the menu accurately. . Before you say she explained the menu ( she told me that crab cakes come in 2 or 3's depending on size) that's it. . My friends and I went here for dinner this evening. We've come a few times before and have always enjoyed it. Our experience tonight will definitely keep us away for a while though. The service was pretty good and our waitress (unfortunately I don't know her name) was very nice. I wish I could say we enjoyed our food. Again, we've been before and have always enjoyed it. My friend got a chicken Caesar salad and the chicken was extremely undercooked. She sent it back and got a regular Caesar without the chicken, which was fine. I had the mac n cheeseburger, which I was very much enjoying until I was about halfway through and I pulled out a couple pieces of hair. At first I thought it was mine, but mine is brown and straight and what I pulled out was black and curly. They made me a new burger and I just ended up taking it home as I had lost my appetite. I felt really bad for our waitress, who was absolutely mortified. She comped both my meal and my friend's meal, which we appreciated. All in all, it was a really disappointing experience since we've enjoyed this place other times. There was an older female there.. thank goodness.. or no one would've been served except for the group of guys at the end of the bar that the 3 younger bartenders paid all their attention to... not to mention how many times I heard the "f" word out of these bartenders mouths while we were sitting there. What happened? Six months ago, this place was a staple for our family and friends. We'd have drinks, dinner, and even celebrate birthdays with the family. The last two visits have been awful. The Mac and Cheese used to be a heaping portion, served hot, with layers of gooey cheese. Now it's half the size (same price), reheated to lukewarm, and tastes like it was part of a giant batch made days ago. My husband's burger had soggy onion rings, was drenched in sauce, and not cooked to the asking temperature. My salmon salad (which I've eaten no less than 15 times before) was served with less than fresh produce. You can tell when a salad is pre-made then chilled in the fridge for too long. The only enjoyable part of the meal were the sweet potato wedges. One bad experience can be overlooked, but two in a row force me to find an alternative. Quality control and attentiveness are lacking. The last two times we didn't have to wait to be seated, so it doesn't seem like we're the only ones to take notice of the decline. If I could leave a no-star rating I would. My friends and I stopped in for dinner at 4:30 on a Sunday. When we walked in there were 3 people sitting at the bar and all of the tables were open so we chose a table closest to the tv because the Pens game was coming on. We ordered dinner and watched as the tables started to fill up We got our food, ate our meals and we were enjoying the rest of our drinks and watching the game when a women came out from behind the bar and said " um, just a heads up, there's people over there who have reservations waiting for this table." Are you kidding me?! First of all, there was no sign on the table saying that it was reserved. Second of all, we just spent 100 dollars on dinner and you're going to hurry us out like that before we even swallowed the last of our drinks?! And third of all, YOU DONT ACCEPT RESERVATIONS! It says so right on the home page of your website. We are a very friendly group of 4. We enjoy eating out at different restaurant. We are kind to the waitstaff, and we keep to ourselves. The first time I went to this restaurant/bar I was super impressed by their light up menus. That's the coolest thing I have ever seen. One of my favorite dishes is their Mac-n-cheese. This place has some of the best food I've ever had. Their burgers are to die for. Get the Bar 9 burger - it has their homemade candied bacon on it. All of their burgers are handmade and never frozen. So good! The Brussel sprouts with truffle oil are amazing (it's a huge portion!). The loaded fries are also very very good! We have never had a bad meal. It is a small space and can get very loud, so we tend to sit at the bar so my husband and I can hear each other, but it's always great service and good food! read more

Went there a few months ago and waited over an hour for Mac n cheese. They were not busy. Everyone had their meal, ate it and was long done before I got mine.
