I totally agreed with Allison! My son started the swimming classes in early July, so far we have changed 4 instructors! My son just built a great bonding with Connor, but he quit the job. They let you know the changing schedule just a couple of hours ahead. They will reschedule for you without your agreement. It's so hard to use their system to cancel or reschedule classes. It's poorly operated. I feel they cannot keep a stable staffing. It's so hard to get a hold of someone to give you a true answer. Each time the customer service will give you a different answers. We got payment through regional center. It's so hard to work with them. It took them 2 weeks to start scheduling the classes. At other places, you can start as long as you send the manager's approval. I dont believe they count the # of classes accurately either. I saw in our system there were 2 makeup classes and 40 paid classed. I have no idea why we have 2 makeups. We never cancelled any classes, but Waterworks changed so many times. I requested to move the makeups to paid classes. They told me they did on the phone, but never reflected in the system. I really dont want to waste a lot of my time to deal with this anymore. Regarding the pool, I dont like it at all. It's so loud in the room. No a lot of seating for parents. Even you found one, you will get wet all the time. Bad air flow! We chose here because of the better review. But I dont recommend this place at all. read more

We tried Floaties swim school in Poway for a little while first, then switched to Waterworks. Go see my review on Floaties for more info there. All the swim instructors are kind, their teaching is consistent, and this is more affordable than Floaties. The pool room at the LA Fitness is usually pretty mellow - not tons of loud screams echoing around the room. We've recommending Waterworks to multiple people! The biggest downside is the gym itself. Even with the recent remodel, the LA Fitness is rundown, the ceiling above the pool is gross (and used to leak in the rain, not sure if it still does), and is frequently closed for maintenance. Sometimes, Waterworks will reschedule at another local gym which is cool. read more

This is the first time our 2.5 year old is getting swim lessons. After a positive referral from a friend, we signed up with Waterworks. We really love our toddler's swim teacher, Ms. Samantha, and the care and ease they bring to the swimming process. She really has a way with our toddler and goes above and beyond to communicate with what she is working on and tips to help us. After trying so many places and instructors we finally found Mr. Ed at waterworks aquatics Poway location. He is extremely patient, very empathetic ,highly adaptable and has deep knowledge of my child's needs and understands sensory issue of my child very well. Our 5 year old daughter has been taking semiprivate lessons at this location for about a year and for the most part, it has been a very positive experience. She was lucky enough to work with Leilani for most of that time. Leilani is a great combination of friendly but serious and firm when necessary to help our daughter progress. She did an excellent job explaining everything to our daughter and to us so we knew how we could help her improve outside of class. Sometimes, Leilani has cancelled and we've been offered another instructor or had to schedule a makeup, but it hasn't been excessive. We understand that when you work with kids, you are likely to get sick sometimes! Unfortunately, Leilani is no longer available to teach our daughter so we're going to try another instructor. We're hopeful that we can find another good instructor. read more

We chose this location because it was the closest indoor pool. And it's not too crowded at this location, so that's a plus. We've had lessons at another Waterworks Aquatics location, and Vanesa is by far the best instructor we've had. She asked us if my son plans to join a swim team, and her instructions are in accordance with competitive swimming regulations. read more

I'm very disappointed in this company. Most of all their refund policy, lack of experienced instructors and overall communication. Each time I attempted to explain my conflicts with them over the phone, I was met with a positive demeanor but absolutely no helpful information. Every representative seemed like they were reading form a script and would tell me they would check with management. Every week we chose an instructor and that instructor was never available. The third week, the instructor was absolutely horrible and so immature when it came to dealing with toddlers, yelling "just get in the pool" and "come on". He never gave one endearing phrase or introduction to himself or regards to my sons name or learning capabilities. It was a stressful and sad experience for my family. Also, this lesson was at 10:20am and it was rescheduled to 10am with only an hours notice. After that experience, I spoke with a "higher up" representative that assured me they would find me a better instructor. A week went by and we heard nothing. Then they ended up scheduling him again the 5th week but we we're so exhausted with the process by this point we decided to eat the cost. This was overall a negative and stressful experience for my family. I highly advise paying a little more for a private lesson. Please do not ask me to reconsider your company or call me to discuss more unless you are refunding me for this monstrosity. Both my kids learn swimming at Waterworks Aquatics Poway and we have great experiences with the coaches there, especially Alyssa. She is by far the best instructor we've ever had. Both kiddos learned how to swim all strokes properly with her. Now she is polishing their strokes, perfecting the flip turns, pumping up their stamina to swim further etc. 10/10 satisfaction with Waterworks and coach Alyssa. We've had several swimming coaches at the other places before we met Alyssa, but no one instructed as clear and effective as she does. Waterworks member portal is also great, and I love that we can schedule single lessons instead of fixed schedule each week. read more
