Community swim and splash pad. Convenient location Plenty of parking Lots of parks near by walking distance Prices are fair depending who you ask. For us for only an hour of play and no family open swim...48 dollars for us is a bit steep. 8 dollars for adults 6 for the kids. The upside to this is you get a wrist band and you can come and go if you want. For us this did not work out. Big splash pad area, plenty of chairs and tables to eat a snack, fuax grass to put a blanket down and lay in the warm sun. Great for the younger toddlers and babies. Would not say it's great for the bigger kids, bc they tend to run... and they are pretty strict on the no running. Big pool area, bathrooms are clean. The splash pad area is clean, needs some love picking up leftover trash.... always leave your area cleaner than you found it. We picked up trash to do our part. Knocked off a half star, due to the lifeguard frantic screaming at my 4 year old.... who was having a hard time bc it was time to go.... didn't appreciate the screaming...a simple whistle blow would have gotten his attention and would have been a great distraction for redirecting. Knocked off half star for the extra trash on the side and clean up we had to do for us to feel OK to sit and eat and play. Water shoes a must! Bring a blanket to sit on Hats There is plenty of shade out of the water. Would recommend to others, if you plan on coming back through out the day which is nice to join the family open swim to get your worth. If you're on a tight budget, possibly seek other free splash areas. Enjoy!

The staff needs to test the kids to get wristband if they are able to swim on their first prior on tackling this obstacle course inflatable.

This is our spot for lessons and recreation swimming on the weekends. Clean, knowledgeable staff, spacious, and great swimming lessons for my kids. And the weekends are fun here with the inflatable obstacle course with slide at the end. Highly recommend.

I actually like this pool but depending on the time you go there is a lot going on. The men's room is very large and nice with several showers and a changing area. There is usually a water aerobics class going on in the morning. You have to be a resident of Poway to use this pool or you may have to pay but I'm not sure about that. Anyway a nice pool if you want to swim laps.

Splash pad is great for littles, and the pool is fairly big to accommodate a lot of guests.

(This review is for the basic adult group swim lesson) I…read morejust took a basic adult group swim lesson at this facility. It was every Mon & Wed for 30 mins each time for 2 weeks. I was super excited when I found out there were only 3 women in the group. I wasn't excited anymore after 2nd session. During the first session I learned that one of women in the group already knew how to swim and she was there to learn how to lap swim. So basically she already knew how to do free style and could swim from one end to the other end of pool without any problem. She just wanted to polish and refine her techniques. She should have taken an intermediate swim lesson, not a basic lesson. Oh, and a private lesson, not a group lesson. I started feeling uneasy when I noticed the coach spent way more time with that woman than rest of us. The coach spent about 15 mins with her and maybe 5 mins with rest of us each time. It was obvious that woman acting like this was her own private lesson, kept on asking the coach tons of questions, interrupting that short 5 min session that the coach was having with another student by asking her to check her own techniques. I know there is always a person who would think she/he is entitled to do so. Then it should be the coach who needs to split the time equally for each student because this is a group lesson, not a private lesson, but the coach failed to do that. So if you are interested in taking a group lesson, look elsewhere.

Yesterday it was so hot that I couldn't finish the class. Before going in, I asked the person at the front desk if the A/C in that room was working, and she said yes. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The main gym area was a comfortable temperature, but the yoga room was extremely hot. I hope this issue can be fixed soon. I enjoy the classes and would like to continue attending them in a comfortable and safe environment. Thank you.

I have been training with Austin C. at LA Fitness Poway for almost a year, and my husband has also…read moretrained with him during that time. The progress I've made has been remarkable, and I can honestly say that joining the personal training program has been one of the best decisions I've made for my health. When I started, I was dealing with weak muscles, excess weight, knee discomfort, and very little confidence in the gym. I was hesitant to try many exercises and often worried about making my knees worse. Austin consistently adapted workouts based on how my body responded, gradually building strength while respecting my limitations. As I improved, he appropriately increased the challenge and introduced more advanced exercises, helping me gain confidence rather than just follow instructions. The progress I've made has exceeded my expectations. I've become significantly stronger, reduced body fat and inches, improved my balance and functional strength, and regained confidence in my ability to exercise safely despite my knee issues. I can now perform exercises I never imagined I'd be able to do. Perhaps his greatest accomplishment as a trainer is that he gave me the knowledge and confidence to train independently. That, to me, is the mark of an excellent trainer. Austin strikes a good balance between encouraging you and pushing you beyond what you think you're capable of, while still paying attention to form and how your body is responding. He celebrates progress, explains the purpose behind exercises, and genuinely wants his clients to succeed. My husband has also had an excellent experience training with him, and we've both benefited from his coaching. We highly recommend Austin to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, dedicated, and motivating trainer. We wish him continued success in his career.
