The good thing is that it has two sections, one for big dogs other for small dogs. The bad thing is that area isn't the safest if you're a women going alone. I've gone about 4 times and each time there seems to a homeless men there that take there dogs but they were constantly staring at me and making me feel very uncomfortable. The last time I went two of them showed up 10min after I did and kept getting very close to me and my dog, I felt very unsafe so I left quickly...the scary thing was that as I pulled out in my car I noticed that they were outside the game watching me leave as well. I don't plan on returning. Around the corner from that park they have half way homes and I'm pretty sure those creepy guys are coming from there. read more

Overall not the worst park, but still needs some maintenance after the flood. 3 separate parking lots (one by the school, one in the middle by basket ball courts, and another in the back by dog park/soccer field) 2 playgrounds, basket ball hoops, soccer fields (not sure how open they are to the public though) and a dog park with separate sides for big and small dogs. DOG PARK: Finally open after the flood! The dog parks are big, but not maintained (even before the flood) big dog side is basically all dirt, and there's ALWAYS a mud puddle close by to the water (wh1ich means yes, your dog dog IS going to get dirty, whether they actually play in the puddle or not), Never any poop bags. But, there are 2 tables and benches in the front and back of the park (front has a little shade) and even more benches along the side, as well as a water fountain that you have to keep pushing every time your dog wants water, as well as a faucet on the far side. Someone has left a metal bowl at each fountain as of 8/11/17. Other people are usually pretty good about watching their dogs (there's a always someone that doesn't though :/ ) but won't ask before bringing small dogs to the big side or vice versa. Hope your dog isn't aggressive depending on size. so overall as long as you bring your own poop bags and dont mind your dog getting dirty, it's a great spacious park for you and your dog. MAIN PARK: Also not maintained after the flood, the grass is terrible to walk in, but everything else is still good. Trash cans along the perimeter of the park and by the playground and basket ball courts. Fairly clean bathrooms for a public park, and working water fountains. Usually see some shady people in the middle parking lot that will just hang out there for hours, if you're going alone just be aware of your surroundings. Basketball courts and playground usually packed by about 7pm everyday. Walkers around the big circle pavement and joggers in the small circle pavement (no rule saying you have to do this, people just do). read more

I gave this park three tries before I decided it wasn't going to be a regular visit. The park itself is nice with large spaces, plenty of bench seating areas, curtesy waste bags, water fountains, secure fences, nice reliable fence gates, and three separate areas labeled for for large dogs and small dogs. I would give the park itself a Four Star rating if it wasn't for the next part... The park visiting community doesn't have much consideration for the separate large dog and small dog areas. On my second trip I noticed some larger breed dogs being brought to the small dog side where my girlfriend and I had brought our small dog. At first this seemed to be not much of a big deal because the larger dogs stuck with the other large dogs and the owners seemed attentive, but that quickly changed at around 6:00pm each day I visited. Owners with large and rowdy dogs kept being brought into the small dog area even though the large dog area had a good looking group of well behaved dogs. I can't imagine the owners' of these dogs true intent for bringing their rowdy large dogs into the small dog area except for that maybe they knew their dogs would start fights with other dogs and when they did they didn't want their dog being hurt by starting a fight with a dog similar in size to theirs and would rather their dog terrorize a small breed dog. That's purely speculation on my part and if this had happened only once out of my three visits I would have struck it off as an outlier in this dog park's experience. One of the large rowdy dogs did manage to get into a fight one of my visits with another large rowdy dog, which resulted in one getting a scratched eye and an upset owner... The upset owner was the one who showed the least amount of knowledge on how to handle their dog... tl;dr Too many big dogs on the small dog side ruined this park. read more

im a fan. real grass, friendly people. it's in a weird place, you can see it off 101 south before mckee, it's tucked away on a little backroad off jackson. there are two huge sections, little dogs and large ones. there are tables and benches on the opposite sides of the small dog area. the big dog area has tables with an overhead structure, not sure if it would block any rain if that happened however. the small dog area has a bit of a hill, the big dog area is flat. i didn't see plastic baggies for poo but they do have the long handled pooper scoopers, which are better in my opinion, less waste. people were very patient with my puppy, which i brought to both the small and large dog area. even when she kept trying to jump on little dogs that didn't want to play with her, the owners were very understanding. when i took her to the big dog area, she kept trying to jump all over the people and lick and chew on them . i kept apologizing, but they didn't mind, which i don't understand. they ended up covered in slobber. read more

This is our 4th try at a dog park in the bay area. We don't simply leave because of one bad experience, we go to the dog parks several times before 'judging'. We do like that there are separate areas for dogs. Good amount of space for all of the dogs. We have 2 small dogs one of them being a puppy who has not had the chance to come here just yet. We did notice a lot of the 'small' dogs weighing around 20+ are what we call 'assholes'. Not aggressive, but simply 'assholes'. We have encountered some very aggressive dogs but luckily they were not towards our dogs but other dogs whom they've hurt/terrified that owners just left, aggressive dog owners did not do anything about it at all. Our only aggressive dog encounter was with a beagle/mix that was owned by some old Hispanic man who likes to sit on the little table with chairs, that dog hurt our dog and the owner ignored it and pretended it was not his dog, we did not appreciate that at all. Be responsible, pay attention to your dogs don't be an idiot and pretend you don't know your dog. That is like if you have a kid who you know is a bully, you take him/her to the playground thinking they'll play great with kids outside of school next thing you know your kid is bullying innocent children and you're at fault for not dealing with it and you have very pissed parents with traumatized children. VERY RESPONSIBLE RIGHT? It's a shame, don't come to a dog park if you don't plan to watch your dog at all. It only takes one person to ruin this park for everyone. One thing we certainly don't appreciate is when people tell us how to raise OUR dogs. You do NOT know everything, we don't either, but one thing for sure is the WAY YOU'RE TELLING US HOW TO 'RAISE' OUR DOGS is absolutely wrong, you KNOW NOTHING about your back yard bred dogs, you are NOT cesar millan! NOR watching cesar millan will make you a 'dog whisperer' so CUT THE CRAP OUT and stop telling us and other people on how to raise their dogs you stupid low class trash! This park isn't the best as everyone states it is, but it is not terrible either, most owners and dogs are friendly. Neighborhood is ghetto looking, most people that are 'bad owners' are trash/ghetto looking. It's the truth, and the only people who would disagree are trash/ghetto too. Raise your dogs right, keep an eye on them, stop getting in people's business, stop bringing dogs under 4 months old, and clean up after your dog dammit! read more

I brought my pit here for the first time. She loved it! The park is very spacious and she made friends with the other dogs right away. There are two sides. One for large dogs and the other for smaller dogs. There are chairs and benches for you to sit on. But I definitely encourage you to bring your own chair and an umbrella because there is no shade for those hot days. Also, they have a water fountain for the dogs. This dog park is quite comfy. It's not spacious but for the little ones, it's big enough. They have benches to sit and relax. There are dog water area, and the idea of separating big and small dogs is a good idea. Though my poochie gets along with almost everyone, but it is good to have that safety net. All dogs and dog owners are friendly for the most part. Last time, I couldn't stand this dog owner who carried her small azzz dog around the park and when my dog followed her, wanting to play with her dog, she used her hands to harshly shoo my dog away.. Jeeze. Don't bring your dog to a dog park if you're not gonna let it down & play.. Sometimes, when there are very little small dogs, I like to take my dog to the big dog area and the big dogs/big dog owners don't seem to have a problem with that. Most dogs are very playful. The bigger dogs aren't too vicious with my dog. As for poop, 97% of the owners clean up after their dogs. The park provides tools to pick up the poop with, so it's much easier. There are also a good number of benches if you don't feel like standing the entire time. I usually stay here for about a good 2 hours to let my dog play. The field is very spacious, big enough for the dogs to chase each other. Sometimes, it gets crowded, but it's tolerable and it doesn't bother me. read more

I love this dog park! I've been in search for a big spacious dog park and this is the one! My shih tzu loves coming to this dog park. I minused one star because some owners don't pick up their dogs poop and it's disgusting. My dog almost ran into so many it was gross! Some owners are rude, they don't watch out for their vicious dogs and they have the guts to yell at other people when their dog attacks another dog. But I am really glad that my dog wasn't attacked. I really love this dog park! I usually only trek around the 'small dog' section, and I have to say that the grassy field is quite spacious and well-maintained. It's a very hospitable environment for dog lovers from all over the city, and a great way to socialize your pets. I love sitting on the benches to watch all the ridiculously cute dogs roam about. Haven't run into any rude owners, but there are some people who need to be more responsible over their dogs who are too hyperactive or rowdy. These cases are rare though, and most of the dogs who come here are pretty chill. I wish they had more seating though, especially when it starts getting crowded. I was SO happy to hear Watson has reopened and what a BEAUTIFUL park they've turned it into! I have 2 smaller dogs, and what I love about this place is how large the small dog side is. Usually my pups get the short end of the stick when it comes to the small dog side, getting little to no room to run around etc.. We take our little pomchi mix puppy here every other week and its a hit or miss. We typically get to meet a ton of other pups during prime time at 1:00pm on beautiful sunny days, but sometimes its completely dead empty. They have separate play pens for small and big dogs but if you feel safe, let your dog have a little fun! Other dog lovers are incredibly friendly and so are their pups. We witnessed a few fights between aggressive dogs so I'm not too happy about that, but dogs are dogs. This is a great park to bring your dog to! read more

my babies love coming here to be free and run around with other dogs. the water fountain sucks because it starts off strong and then gets all drippy. as a result i have to bring a big gallon of water to refill the water for the dogs often. i wish they wouldve planted more full grown trees for shade and that the restrooms were not only on the play ground side. downfall: a bunch of big full grown pits in the same area = bad. **owners of all dogs: PLEASE do keep a good eye on your dog. When I first came here last year, before they decided to remodel the small dog section and blocked it off for now...I really liked it. However, I finally decided to come back! I didn't mind that there were only a few dogs playing, probably because it was close to 4pm and kinda hot. Then a group of Chihuahuas arrived (pups I think) and they started pooping everywhere, while the owners over there siting in the shade chatting it up with each other, not even paying attention! Lots of parking and relatively empty though it depends on when you go. There is a small and large dog area as well as a water fountain for the dogs. I wish they had grass though instead of dirt....it looks kind of barren and honestly I feel uneasy about walking in the dirt (what if it is composed of lots of mashed up dog poo)..well okay maybe that's just me. If your dog gets tired of the dog park, you can take him/her for a walk around the fields or by the playground. Great place to bring your dog! It is in a weird location in my opinion but there is always a lot of people here with their dogs. Great for socializing your dog and getting some outdoor exercise. So far the people I've encountered here are really nice and the park itself is nice, open, and clean.There are benches, tables, and water fountains for both humans and dogs. You honestly might want to bring your own water though. Sometimes there is even an ice cream truck that comes by so it's a good place to have children interact with dogs and have fun too. Great park, actual grass no turf stuff so my dog luvs it. Been there a few times, my puppy is large but a little fearful of other bossy dogs so having the larger and smaller breeds seperate is great. Also the dogs and owners are friendly...other parks i have been to felt like i was invading their "club" or something....folks would talk with my dog but were odd with people...go figure. We happened to stumble across this park while driving on 101 South. We didn't exactly know where the park was but figured out how to get here. It was actually pretty nice. We had to drive to the back of the park to find the gated dog park. There are two separate gated areas for Larger Dogs and one for Smaller Dogs. The park was clean and the people there were pretty nice. There was a pooper scooper there for the public use as well as a water fountain and bowl so the dogs can drink water. I had no complaints and was able to sit on the benches and a few picnic tables while my dog ran around. He had a great time socializing and we will definitely go back to this little park :) read more

WOO! I finally found a dog park that is much closer to my house! I have been going to Butcher Dog Park off Camden but it is way to far from where I live. I really like this dog park because everyone here is friendly and also does their duty keeping the area clean. I have been trying to go to this dog park on a regular basis just to take my dog out and I have noticed that there are a lot of regulars who come here as well. I have made a few friends and furry ones too. It is usually around 4-5 in the evening when I see a lot of dogs at this park. All in all, I love this place. :) read more

When it use to be 2 sections , but now they divide it into 3 sections. Don't know why. The left side which is for small dogs is nice they have a little mound for the pups to warm up their pitching arm. And the middle and right are split up for large dogs.... It use to be a whole big side for the Big doggies. It's ruff dirt so your dogs will get dirty. I love the soccer field across the park, it's a big park, can be seen off hwy101s bound. I really liked this dog park. Most people are nice and have nice dogs. There are some people that don't make an attempt to pick up after their dogs. I go home 50% of the time with poop on my shoes. I try to come several times a week, my older dog and younger dog like this park. I bring tennis balls and my younger Aussie is happy and my older one is my shadow. There is a large and small side both decent sizes, and water, no shade. I stopped going for two reasons: 1) lack of shade 2) dog poop on my shoes and pads of my dogs paws, which ends up on my car mats. Owners seem to have really not been responsible for puck up. My feeling is if you can't find your dogs, pick up another's - someone will find yours and do the same. read more

Never coming back. When we first arrived, the people and dogs (even the big german shepherds and pit bulls) looked chill and tame. Took my dog in and had some fun for about 20 minutes playing fetch. Roomy, fairly cut grass, but not much shade. Then comes the gangsta baggy pants guy with his aggressive grey pit who was pulling on the leash and even growling already. He waited a few minutes before entering, but the dog was still on fire. The minute he let his dog in, it charges for an innocent husky minding her own business and attacks her. Within minutes he tried to snip at a greyhound also. Instead of leaving, he puts his dog on leash to "train" him. Time to go and never come back. People and dogs here need to exercise, but if you're dog is not controllable and crazy then you need to take responsibility before it becomes a bad situation. For anyone that goes here, keep an eye out for aggressive dogs and follow your gut on when it's time to leave. read more

I have taken my dog there several times and for the most part it is ok. There are a few issues with that place. 1. some dog owners do not pickup after their dog has done its number two, which on several occasions my dog stepped on it. 2. one of the two water fountains is located in an area where it is close to the grass, it gets so muddy even when it is not raining. 3. they should have used synthetic grass instead of the real think, there are so many areas where the soil is exposed. 4. bring some poo bags!!!! the city is out of budget i guess As to the owners, most of them are nice folks, I have not seen too many agressive dogs, and if there are any aggresive dogs the owners usually pull them back. read more

I originally wanted to go to Ed Levin County Park/Dog Park up Calaveras Rd but after reading reviews I decided not to go because of the $6 entrance fee and lack of dogs at the park. So I figure I'd take my pup here. I like that they have real grass but it is a bit patchy so my pup ends up with dirty paws. There is also not very much shade so be sure to wear sunscreen, a hat, or bring an umbrella. Aside from that, there is plenty of space in both sections and a variety of dogs and dog owners. Come here in the early/late evening and there will be lots of furry little friends your pup can play with! read more

My dog had fun here with every dog except one. This white female husky kept jumping at him, growling & being aggressive. I tried to stay calm & talk to the owner but, he was too ignorant to understand that growling & snapping at other dogs wasn't "playing" like he insisted! I had to leave when his dog picked a fight with mine. I don't think they should be allowed here as, EVERYONE else was pleasant.
