Actual definition of a hidden gem. Came at around 9 pm during the winter time and it was an absolutely gorgeous! Such an amazing place for panoramic views of San Jose. Although it is not extremely high up and there are some houses blocking the view, the city lights were absolutely stunning. Another perk of this place is that the neighborhood is actually quite dark so in front of you is the gorgeous view and behind is the glorious night sky. Super quiet too. Absolutely beautiful! I am so jealous of the people who live around here. They can come every day haha.

Great park for pets- kids or adult time. Recently my sister surprised me with a sweet picking. Great shade- quiet and perfect area to sit on the grass and enjoy.

An amazing park with a view to die for. A real hilltop overlook which overlooks the city of San Jose and beyond. In addition, park includes plenty of parking, restrooms, bbq pits, benches, new tennis courts, such clean playgrounds, green grass, and much more to be added soon! A top notch park in the Evergreen area and probably the entire city of San Jose! From the website: Fowler Creek Park is a 12-acre property that's owned by the City of San Jose and is currently being master-planned by the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services Department for development as a community park. The current plan includes a community center, attached swim center, playgrounds, tennis courts, picnic areas, and much more. The park is located in Evergreen Hills in San Jose, CA and is bounded by Cortona Drive to the south and Michelangelo Drive to the north.

Pros: - Great park for Easter ! -big enough place to play games with kids and small enough to monitor where the kids are at - easy to find - lots of parking space Cons: - only one cubicle for the restrooms

Who would do something like this at the park have full of kids?

It is hot in San Jose my kid playing for 30 minutes max and her face is all red. The home owners next to the park must be annoying everyday. Because people have birthday party with loud music playing at this park. The houses are nice in this area. Due to the water drought in San Jose. They shut off the water area for kids.

I remember hearing about this place in 2007. The park wasn't even open and high schoolers were sneaking through the gates. Now seeing this develop throughout the years is bittersweet. Sweet because I remember running here and taking a breather while enjoying the view, 8 years have passed and the view is still beautiful. What's bitter is that reading the reviews now about how it's a magnet for pedophiles and other treacherous issues. Parking The parking lot is relatively small however there are other parking spots such as the streets or even at the school. Feels I guess during the day it's a safe place and it's pretty nice at night but after reading these reviews, it really creates a dark cloud over this place. I just hope this place will turn into a safe place again. Overall In my books 4.5 stars. It's unfortunate you have to enter this park with caution nowadays.

Update for the pic attachments: Has the already small parking lot been gated/closed off? Why so much tanbark now? And the top parkview's shrubbery is so unkept. The roundabout side is a lot more enjoyable. -1 star. I shouldn't have to write updated reviews just to have my photos linked to my account dude.

-Beautiful Location - All of our guest loved the park, the location, great friendly people surrounded us! - I def. recommend parties at this park located in the nice evergreen area , there is a close shopping center just 5min. Away (walmart, coffee shop, couple restaurants) ... we had a great success at this park for our little girl's 3rd. Birthday party! We got there at 10am started decorating, cute and simple party! Sunset at this park is beyond beautiful! There are 9picnic tables, bathrooms are close! The playarea for the kids are just walking distance from the picnic area!

Wow, I'm so glad this park is up the street from me. This is a great park! I always find it funny how parks in more upper middle class communities are better maintained than parks in lower socioeconomic areas. Since this park is in a slightly higher status than other parks I've been to, it was definitely noticeably better kept up than others, Lots of activities and space here. They have two bocce ball courts(Astroturf), tennis courts, some amazing climbing apparatuses for the kids, plenty of grass to throw a frisbee or kick a soccer ball, etc. From here, you can enjoy a pretty great view of SJ as well. Quite a place to catch a sunset and I imagine a great place to catch a sunrise as well. Definitely a family spot, but also a cute little park for a picnic with a special someone, outing with friends for some some sports, etc. As for the tables/bbq areas...not a lot of that here. I think other parks would be more preferable for accommodating a large group(especially if you want to sit on benches). There is a small area for that, but all the benches are pretty clustered and one big party will certainly hog them all.

I thoroughly enjoy this park. They have plenty of different things to do here considering that it's a public park. There's a children's playground that has very unique rides. They have tennis courts as well. At the very top of the hill there is a large open space that many use in the mornings for yoga/meditations. The walkways were designed for walking in mind, so you'll be able to get a great walk, jog, or dog walk in. There are restrooms located here too. The dog is officially dog friendly with doggy bags, but I suggest that you bring your own as they're always empty. Even though it is dog friendly, you should always have your dog on a leash. That's one of my pet peeves about this park. Also, there are plenty of places and spaces for BBQ's, however you will want to arrive early as this park is very popular and busy on weekends. The crowd on weekends tends to attract more folks who aren't from the immediate neighborhood, so it could look a little rough and thugish. That being said, I've never encountered any problems there either.

Lovely park, no dog area but very pet friendly, playgrounds, tennis courts, bathrooms and really nice view! Riley loved it!

I love bocce ball. It's one of the games I love to play. However, playing at my favorite court (Campo di Bocce - Los Gatos) gets kind of pricey. So for $10, I got myself my own Bocce Ball set that was on clearance at Sears! SCORE!!! Now all I need is a court. I was taken to Fowler park earlier this year and found the park to have a nice bocce court. It is also well maintained. The crowd seems diverse and respectful. Pretty awesome all around and beautiful on a nice clear day such as this last Sunday. While trying to find an adventure, we got ourselves banh mis and other Vietnamese goods at Houng Lan. Even though he is a white boy, he schooled me on his knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine. This was awesome since I was able to try some awesome new stuff. But let me digress ..... We decided to have a nice picnic in a park and I thought of Fowler Park since it is near Houng Lan. I also had my bocce set in the trunk of my car, so it was all meant to be. We arrived on a beautiful fall Sunday with the temperature in the high 70's. We sat down on one of the benches and had our dinner. It was really relaxing and was not at all crowded! Then we headed over to the bocce court where we had friendly spectators. They asked us what we were playing and were quite intrigued. I made the spectators laugh because I am quite competitive and was kicking some major ass in the beginning. Then, things turn a drastic turn. I believed I was hustled. I also became a tad dramatic. Haha. UGH!!! The court itself was not as flat as I remembered it to be. There was a slight curvature. I am not sure if this was on purpose, but I didn't mind it at all. It made the game even more fun. A bunch of older gentlemen played beside us and made the area more lively. The only awkward moment was when we were playing, a lady stood in the middle of the court to stretch. I had to tell her we were in a middle of a game, then she went to the middle where the scoreboard was and was doing some weird stretches. It made us giggle a little bit. I don't understand how she can just walk across both games and not notice we were all playing bocce. I guess different strokes for different folks. Since it was fall, it did get dark earlier and we saw the sunset, but the light post provided enough illumination to complete a few more rounds of game. I was trying my hardest to regain my lead, but to no avail. NEXT TIME, I WILL BE VICTORIOUS!!!

Sunset view from Fowler Creek Park. Picture doesn't do it justice.

They have a deep understanding of how to nurture young athletes, making it easy for kids to grasp the fundamentals while also fostering a competitive mindset that builds self-confidence, mental toughness & the motivation to keep get better. My son started playing orange ball tennis at this academy during the COVID lockdown, when most other extracurricular activities were suspended for an extended period. At the time, I was simply grateful for the physical activity and mental benefits he gained from being outdoors, playing a sport that he enjoyed. As he progressed, he had the opportunity to participate in Junior Team Tennis (JTT), where he played alongside other junior players and developed his match play in a supportive environment while being supervised by the coaches. As his strokes became more consistent and refined, his training evolved beyond just how to hit the ball to understanding why--helping him construct points strategically, play aggressively with heavy topspin while managing risks, and make smart decisions under pressure. The level of individual attention and feedback he received was instrumental in his development. Coach Tom and his team (Daniel, Kyle, Gaby, Fernando & others) were always approachable and highly supportive, guiding him through challenges in a positive environment while sharing valuable insights from other top players. With continued training and experience, his progress accelerated, and before long, he became a top-ranked junior player in NorCal, competing in high-level tournaments across the country. As a parent, I deeply appreciate that Coach Tom emphasizes hard work, sportsmanship, and resilience--qualities that extend far beyond the court and shape kids into not just stronger athletes but also well-rounded individuals and future leaders. Their track record speaks for itself: they have produced many top-ranked junior players at the state and national levels, won the 2024 USTA award for the best junior program in NorCal, and consistently dominate JTT leagues. I highly recommend NorCal Tennis Academy to any family looking for a world-class junior tennis program that truly invests in their players' growth and success.

Before the game, the only thing I was hearing from all the coaches in Lifetime Activities was, they are the strongest among all the teams in the league. My experience when I saw the NorCal Orange team was nothing different than what I heard from coaches over here. And they beat our team badly on the fist match. Few things why they beat our team was about their consistency, rally and lot of rally.... Other than that, I don't think I could see anything fancy on those players. Next day I took help from a known coach who was working for NorCal tennis academy, and put a trial class for my son. First time that day I spoke to Coach Thomas about my son's feedback and trust me it was not good as a parent at all. Because right on my face he told, "he is not ready for yellow, he need to get trained more on green dot before we try him in yellow ball group". I was upset but excited to see how he will work with my son. This was around 2years back when I came to NorCal academy, back then and now, its a big difference and improvement on my sons technique and foot work. Now he just turned 10 but he is getting trained with high school group kids those are really high UTR players. The biggest point why I am with NorCal and wanted to be with NorCal is, they have something unique on their program which I have never seen anywhere before. 1. They don't care who the kid is or they know kid before or not. For them every kid is a tennis player and they wanted to help them. 2. They recognize the talent based on players effort and commitment on the court and put their extra effort to excel his game to the next level. Thats the best thing I have ever seen in any academy till date. - Coach Thomas watches each and every Kid personally to improve the kids game and explains to the parents about the improvement areas. - I have seen him always moving around with different courts to watch whether any one need extra help. 3. The culture is really family oriented and all the coaches are really fun loving. But they can switch the gear anytime, if you as a player wanted to mess around with the coach :) I would really recommend NorCal tennis academy if at all you are looking for a place for your kid or yourself where you only wanted tennis, tennis and tennis.... This is the place to go...
