    We found this company shady with dishonest business practices…read more The property management company we had been renting from for 4.5 years (with which we maintained an impeccable payment history) retired and gave their properties away to DMRE in April 2015. This also happened to be the month that our lease was expiring. When DMRE came to inspect the house we were renting for their records, they found it to be beautiful, neat, clean and well cared for (its usual state) and declared us model tenants. They told us that the other homes they had inspected were Haz-Mat worthy. Despite our flawless record, they refused to honor a very key component of our original lease which offered the option to lease OR rent month to month (at a steep increase). We were COUNTING on utilizing this feature of our contract in order to time our move without undue expense. Because, you know...buying a house does not always happen like clock work. Danna gave us two options: renew the lease for ONE or TWO more years or MOVE in 30 days. We told her we could not possibly FIND & BUY a new home as well as MOVE all in just 30 days. So she gave us 60 days. And even though this company refused to let us rent on a month to month basis, somehow they still charged us the higher month-to-month rate for our last 2 months (which was $235 more per month!) Wait, what? So we ended up having to pay the extra $235 month-to-month rent price (while being denied the month-to-month rights), because that makes perfect sense in Greedy Landlord Land. Then we had to move all our belongings into 2 storage units, after which we were homeless (for 23 days!!). Finally we found a house and closed (feeling pressured due to our homelessness - not a good way to buy a home!!!) and then we moved (again) out of the storage units and into the new house. HUGE expense. HUGE hassle. HUGE headache. Thanks DMRE!!! Because of this company, May, June and July 2015 were very unpleasant and costly. And the real kicker is that ALL of this could have been avoided if they had simply honored our original lease and let us rent month-to-month. (Which would have ended up being only ONE more month.) I wonder how they sleep at night? Would not recommend these people to anyone. UPDATE: It appears that the reason for denying month to month renting was so the house could be rented out to her son who seems to be the one occupying the home since the day we moved out.
