Without a doubt, phenomenal chocolate and service! Just right off Main St. sporting a warm colonial exterior you can find this chocolate haven. The inside is warm and welcoming and the staff was phenomenal! You can easily appreciate the fine delicacies of the chocolate that are handmade to your liking and a taste that begs for more. It is to no wonder that this is a Walpole local favorite. Very nice. I was kind of lost after Hebert Candies went out of business but this place is the perfect place to get that kind of candy for xmas gifts or even for you. Most of the times I go it is pretty empty but always fully staffed. read more

What a cool little place. They are a family run business and make chocolates the old fashion way. They always give a tour of the whole place where you can see the magic. They have a big selection of chocolates . The chocolate have nuts ,some have marshmallows, some have caramel and alot more variety. The chocolate is fresh and smooth. Everything is so fresh from the dust of salt to the nut filling. It's a big difference from store bought chocolates. Price is for decent for handmade chocolates. Everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely, recommend you drop by to try them. read more

I love Watson's Candies. My Grandmother grew up in Walpole before moving to California. She had a friend that still lived there and would send her a box of Watson's every major holiday. I recently purchased a box of chocolate on Watson's website for my mother's birthday. I was extremely impressed by how fast it shipped. I ordered it on a Friday night and it arrived in CA on Monday. The packaging was pretty and kept the chocolate safe. It arrived in perfect condition and the candy was absolutely delicious! I would love to visit the store in person someday but until then I am grateful for Watson's speedy shipping and wonderful chocolate! read more

Review for ice cream part: we were FOUR people and the guy says you can only have three samples! The poor guy working there was new and obviously not trained and totally confused . The nostalgia is making me add an extra star. My Dad recently bought me a mixed box of dark soft centers. Almost the entire box had the same filling (just creamy chocolate). I don't know if they were running low, hoping nobody would notice or what but for the price, this shouldn't be happening. read more

I go to Watson's every so often, when the regular old Hershey bars from the local grocery store just aren't enough to satisfy my craving. Chocolate and candy have been something I have always loved, and I am able to tell chocolate from either being great or cheap. Watson's makes a very identifiable chocolate that is thick, creamy, and delicious. And with over 80 years of experience, you know they have the recipe down pat! Lots of different varieties of all chocolates and something for everyone. Around the holidays especially they have lots of gift baskets and fun-shaped and themed chocolates as well. The inside of the store could definitely, no doubt use some modernizing and remodeling, however, it keeps the old world vibe in this somewhat extravagant building that has lots of architecture throughout many of the small rooms (if you haven't been here before, they have lots of different rooms throughout, dividing up different types of chocolate, etc). In addition, the "Scoops" window outside is another great feature of Watson's. Throughout the summertime (and even springtime), everyone loves ice cream. Here they have a separate ice cream window with tons and tons of flavors of both hard and soft serve ice cream. I believe this is one of the only places (if not the only place) within a 10 or 15 mile radius with the "24 soft serve flavors". Parking is never an issue, and they have lots of space and open seating around the ordering window. I really do enjoy Furlong's' ice cream window, but the set up here is much better, with tables and the fact that it isn't on a steep hill. Staff are always friendly, and the prices throughout the store aren't way overpriced. Do be expected to spend a wee bit more than the Hershey's bar from Walmart though.... 5 stars for Watson's. A continuous journey for me. Highly suggested. read more

This candy store sells ice cream too and that's why we stopped. It's was a scorching 90 degree day. Plenty of ice cream flavors in both hard and soft serve. They even have at least 3 or 4 frozen yogurt flavors. This part of the establishment is Cash Only. I am not sure if there is an ATM around. There is a sitting area near the ice cream Windows with tables and umbrellas which is a nice touch. Prices are about the same as other ice cream establishments in the area. All in all the ice cream was good with average portions. The local yokels seemed to like the place. read more

I am a big fan of Scoops at Watson's Candies in Walpole. They have a huge selection of soft serve and hard serve ice cream flavors. You can get mix-ins like chocolate jimmies, rainbow sprinkles, oreo cookie crumbs, etc. You don't have to get in separate lines for soft serve/hard serve (like another ice cream place not too far from Scoops!) The kids that work there are really friendly. I'm sure you will become a fan too if you give them a try. read more

Great chocolate, could not be more pleased. I tried some of their Bari & Gail chocolate caramel popcorn after having some of the caramel corn stuff that comes from those drums you can buy around Christmas and I can honestly say I will never go back.
