Front desk was prompt, efficient and very professional. They're going thru renovations but only in the receptionist area. The Technicians and Sraff were very courteous, quick & answered every question I had and explained the procedure to ease my angst. This company goes beyond the norm to make sure I was comfortable. I wasnt just a numbered patient. Every area I entered was clean, quiet & comfortable. I highly recommend this place and having my results online is an added perk. The method to use their website and patient portal was not problematic at all. Again, I highly recommend you come here for all your imaging needs. The slowest receptionist I've ever experienced in my life. Literally took 30 minutes just to get me checked in and they charged me the wrong thing, didn't order the right x-rays so if the x ray technician didn't catch it would've been missed. Terrible! I got there 10 minutes before my appointment and sat down because they have a sign that says "PLEASE WAIT FOR A TEAM MEMBER TO CALL YOU" (and it's written in all caps). After waiting 15 minutes, I walk up to the front desk. First lady said, "they can help you at the next window". Then the next lady tells me that I'm late and my slot has been given to someone else. At this point it is only five minutes after my appointment time and I tell them that I've been here for fifteen minutes. You would think they would call my name out before giving an appointment away. Then the lady says "let me see what I can do". She comes back and offers me an appointment for 1.5 hours later. She is smiling like she just solved world hunger. I take it because I don't want to come back on another day. The MRI process was fine but I'm never coming back to this place again because of the front desk. The x ray tech was very rude, bad attitude, not patient, not sympathetic to the customer. These people should be ashamed of themselves. If you need to visit the facility in person, the staff are friendly and professional. Unfortunately, everything else about the process has been extremely frustrating. The company outsources its call center overseas, and while the representatives are polite, they seem unable to take any real action or resolve issues. I've been trying to schedule a scan for over three months. Each time I call, I'm told they haven't received insurance approval and will "resubmit" and call me back, but that call never comes. I've followed up every other week, only to repeat the same conversation with different agents who provide no progress or solutions. Despite having double insurance coverage, they haven't managed to secure even one approval, which makes it clear there's a serious breakdown in their process. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise avoiding Wave Imaging. I will not be returning or recommending them in the future. read more

I would give a negative if I could. Denise was rude and dismissive. She put a finger up and said one second. I stood for 5 mins without her even talking to me. I asked am a waiting for someone to come back from the bathroom? She then with a nasty tone it am helping someone else. I then said customer setvice here is always bad and rude. I looked at her and told her she should be ashamed with the lack of any customer service. She took her phone and went on a break. I tru not to come here due to the bad customer setvice. The people here are the worst. They don't care about patients and rare rude too many. I even spoke with another lady on waiting room who has the same complaint. 1. When I called the central line to make an appointment, the scheduler asked me a series of intrusive questions. My doctor had sent the requisition request so I really didn't under the mini medical exam just to get an appointment. 2. When I showed up for the appointment, I was told it had been cancelled. It's December 12, 2025 - I have been trying to schedule an MRI for my loved one since September. They state it takes 1-10 days to get insurance authorization. I have been calling on a weekly basis. Waited over an hour for a scheduled breast ultrasound, only to be told I couldn't be seen because they didn't have my films, despite them being at the breast specialist which shares and office with Wave/RadNet. Staff was dismissive and disorganized. I'll be returning to Newport Diagnostic Center to avoid this kind of treatment ever again. I'm sorry to see so many negative reviews, because my experience was different. I reached out to the location directly and did not use the central call system. That may be one reason that I did not have the frustration that other reviewers had. This location may havehad a change in Management because the difficult people I used to encounter there at the front desk are no longer a problem, I am delighted to say. Perhaps they have just had better training or read enough yelp reviews to let them know that people were not thrilled With that part of the experience. However, ALL the people I encountered here in December, 2025 were warm and welcoming, and they answered all the pesky questions I have. I know they're busy, but they really went out of their way to help me. That was awesome. The supervisor (lead) ADRIANA was absolutely terrific, as she made sure that all my questions were addressed and she explained the items on the check-in form that I had questions about. She really went the extra mile! Truly exceptional. I was really impressed. Thank you Adriana! At the front desk, ARIANNA was delightful and welcoming, patient and helpful. That's really important for a front desk person to be, when the patient is having a procedure like an MRI or a CT. Well done! She was wonderful. KIM, the technician was terrific, and actually a lot of fun, which made me relax for my MRI. She is a seasoned pro and made everything run smoothly. I was so grateful for that! Impressive. All in all there is NOW a terrific team in this location at 3300 West Coast Highway, Newport Beach. There has been much improvement since I was there last in 2019. Also, of course, the beautiful appearance of the place, like a spa, helps greatly to provide a soothing atmosphere. So yes, I absolutely recommend this WAVE Location. It's also a nice short walk from the parking lot which counts when you are suffering. One thing to remember: they DO offer what is called an "open MRI" which can accommodate bigger or more claustrophobic people. However, it does not mean there is a ton of room above your face, I was surprised to find out. I think THAT particular type of machine is called a "Wide Bore" and I do not know if this parent company has that kind of machine anywhere near me. So it was still fairly claustrophobic for me,although not as much as if it were not "an open MRI". Kim did an impressive job of making me as comfortable as possible. I do think that this is a very good and well run facility and that hopefully people who discover it will see how earnest the people at this location are. (I did receive a call from the general call center trying to book my appointment, but I could barely understand the gentleman. Seems like that may need some attention from this company.) read more

Looks like reviews are highly polarized. Routine annual appt. Scheduled. The facility lobby has stone floors and crystal chandeliers with pillars and a fountain outside. Appt was Tuesday 9:30 am. I arrived at 9:15 per the instructions to attend to paperwork etc. Very uncrowded. Desk staff was very helpful and gracious, I didn't observe any of the negative types of interactions mentioned in other reviews as they interacted with other patients either. I do understand frustration with the cancelling and rescheduling of appts. Due to no tech available. This is a staffing issue of the Wave Imaging company. I rarely leave reviews, but the appalling service I received from Wave Imaging in Newport Beach is so egregious that I feel compelled to warn others. I am a healthcare professional who suffered a workplace injury and had been in pain for weeks. After waiting for over a week for insurance authorization, I received a call from "One Call" on behalf of my treating physician, confirming that my MRI was authorized and scheduled for 5:30 pm on 12/23/24 at Wave Imaging. I also received a text confirmation, asking me to arrive at 5:10 pm for registration. I took time off work, drove over an hour from Anaheim to Newport Beach, and filled out paperwork only to be told by the front desk that they couldn't perform the MRI because they didn't have the proper authorization. I was told this after they had already confirmed the appointment with me, even though they hadn't bothered to verify the authorization in advance. This is completely unacceptable. Not only did I lose almost four hours of work, but I also drove a significant distance while in pain, only to be told the appointment was meaningless. The staff tried to resolve the issue by calling a manager, but after further checking, they still couldn't find any authorization. By 5:45 pm, I was informed that the issue wouldn't be corrected. At this point, I had already wasted my time, and I was deeply frustrated. The front desk staff and a liaison were somewhat sympathetic, trying to calm me down, but their solution was to have the manager authorize the MRI on the spot. This could have been an easy fix. Instead, the manager decided, after "further review," that the MRI would not be performed that day. I can't help but feel utterly disrespected by the lack of urgency and professionalism here. They confirmed my appointment without confirming authorization, knowing I was in pain, and then had the audacity to cancel it once I arrived. What kind of company operates like this? What's worse, the response I got was cold and dismissive. There was no effort to make things right, and I was treated like my time, pain, and frustration didn't matter. They wasted my time, and more importantly, they showed a complete lack of empathy for their patient's suffering. It's clear that this business cares more about making money than about providing quality care. They failed to check authorization before confirming my appointment, which led to the most unprofessional experience I've had with a healthcare provider. I've never been more disgusted by a business's disregard for its customers. They canceled my appointment due to their own incompetence, and there was no offer to resolve the situation or make up for their error. If you value your time, energy, and health, do yourself a favor and avoid Wave Imaging Newport Beach. Their business practices are utterly broken, and they will show you no sympathy when they waste your time. They have no regard for your pain, your time, or your needs. Boycott this place. Yes the atmosphere was very clean and the hallway was super clean and it was a lot of seating, they took care of us in no matter of time, I had an MRI and I have a phobia of it and so YEN helped me through the whole process and we hold my hand and I could handle the whole 30 minutes of the MRI procedure. It's not often that I come across a company so incompetent that I wish I could leave a negative star review, but Wave Imaging is one of those companies. My doctor ordered an ultrasound and I contacted Wave Imaging to schedule an appointment. Here's how it went: Appointment #1: On August 21, I called and booked an ultrasound appointment for September 3. On September 2, I got a voicemail that the technician was sick and I would need to call and reschedule. Appointment #2: On September 3, I call and reschedule to September 6. On September 5, I get a call that the ultrasound doesn't perform my specific type of ultrasound and I would need to reschedule. Appointment #3: I reschedule to September 11. On September 10, I get a voicemail that there will not be an ultrasound technician in on September 11 and I need to reschedule. Appointment #4: I call to reschedule. I'm very frustrated at this point, but I calmly and politely explain (to the person on the phone booking appointments) the crazy chain of events that has had 3 appointments in a row cancelled or rescheduled. He seems super professional and tells me that he is going to check with his supervisor. He does check with his supervisor and informs me that before we book the appointment, he is going to call the actual location and speak to someone there to confirm that there will be someone actually there that can perform the ultrasound. He comes back and informs me that there WILL be someone who is able to perform the ultrasound and books me an appointment on September 16. On September 15, I receive a call informing me that my appointment has been cancelled because ultrasound technician isn't able to perform my specific type of ultrasound. Appointment #5: I call to reschedule. I'm beyond frustrated at this point, but I calmly and politely explain (to the person on the phone booking appointments) the crazy chain of events that has had 3 appointments in a row cancelled or rescheduled. He (again) seems super professional and tells me that he is going to call the actual location and speak to someone there to confirm that there will be someone actually there that can perform the ultrasound. He comes back and informs me that there WILL be someone who is able to perform the ultrasound and books me an appointment on September 18. On September 17, I receive a call informing me that my appointment has been cancelled because ultrasound technician isn't able to perform my specific type of ultrasound. Yes. In the course of 2 weeks, I had FIVE different appointments confirmed that were cancelled by Wave Imaging less than 24 hours before the appointment. To be clear, this was just for a standard abdominal ultrasound - nothing very unique or specific. The ineptitude and unprofessionalism of this company is shocking. I ended up calling Memorial Care and getting an appointment in 2 days at one of their care centers. I was in and out in 20 minutes and it was a great experience. How Wave Imaging managed to take such a routine and mundane thing as an ultrasound and turn it into the most hair pulling and frustrating thing I've ever endured is laughable!! read more

I made appointment for my dad and was asked to show up 20 minutes early. The appointment is at 7:00 pm; we showed up at 6:30 pm filled out all paperwork. When it passed 7:00 pm, we were told by the receptionist that the technician who does the procedure will be late and asked us to wait for about 30 more minutes. Finally, my dad was called in at 7:41 pm. This is very unprofessional and they really need to work on scheduling. I will never recommend this location to any of my friends and relatives. read more

I was a cash payer, I told them that on the phone when I made my ultrasound appointment. I did my appointment, I gave them 2 of my physician's order papers, paid the WHOLE amount (for 2 ultrasound orders my physician ordered) before I left there. 5 months later, I got a collection notice from a debt collector says I owe this place money, but I NEVER GOT any emails or letter or calls from them says I owe them money. Called their accounting team, that person said the extra charge was for the 3rd ultrasound order, WT frack, my Dr only ordered 2 ultrasounds for me and I paid both on my appointment day when I did the check out. They are trying to over bill me. BE AWARE! I am sure this issue is impacting my credit scores since it went to collection, but it wasn't true, I don't owe anything. Now I have to spend hours & days to call every dept of theirs to depute this charge and also make sure it will be taken out on my credit report, what a mess for me that caused by this fraudulent place. Oh, BTW, it was also pain in ass to make the appointments as they use foreigners that can't really speak English well as the customer service, some of them has a VERY STRONG accent, hard to understand them sometimes, which is ok with me, I understand saving cost for the business, but they will get mad if you don't understand them and ask them to repeat to make sure you understand them correctly lol, that definitely won't be a good or smooth experience for anyone. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for an MRI at this location at 7:10pm. I arrived 30 mins early to my appointment as instructed to fill out my paperwork. I filled out my paperwork in just 5 minutes and then someone arrived late as I waited for my appointment. The office took in the patient who arrived late and proceeded to make me wait for mine. I was not seen until 7:45pm. I waited over an hour for my appointment in total. I understand the office generosity to accommodate for the late patient, however, this should only be done if there's enough staff to cover the other appointments and if not with the consent of others who have been waiting and showed up on time. I had to cancel something due to the delays. I don't believe this is okay. read more

Had to get a brain MRI and I was crazy nervous because I'm claustrophobic. Was able to use their open MRI. I let the tech know and she said she'd be extra talkative. She let me know when each new picture was starting and how long it would be which helped. They also let my husband sit in the room with me. I had to get contrast and she was great at getting that started as well. Overall a way better experience than I was expecting. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Negative five stars if I could! Rude as can be front desk, like unbelievably RUDE! If you ask them a question before they call you you will get scolded like a child that you weren't called! I've been forced to come here for two years because of my specific situation. I tried to make appointments unsuccessfully online. After getting 10-15 xrays & mri's after my car accident and never being able to make an appointment and walking in EVERY TIME over a two year span, including the week prior, the front office tells me they don't accept walk in's and tried to act like they had no idea what I was taking about and couldn't find my orders. They can never find your orders that your Dr sends to them. You have to repeatedly give them your payment which for me it's on a lean through my attorney and they have it on record and act like they don't know what you're talking about and I have to get it sent to them over & over & over! The front desk is completely incompetent and don't know at all where they are or what they're doing Today was the last straw and I can't take it anymore I found another place and Laguna Hills called Simonmed.
