If you aren't familiar, a dexa scan tells you your weight, body composition including visceral organ fat, bone density, and lean body mass. It is the most accurate way to measure progress if you are trying to increase lean muscle or bone density. I go to the Irvine mobile spot and they have been on time for one and running 10 minutes behind on my second. They communicated the time they were running behind. You get your results within a few minutes of completion. I highly recommend it.

However, when the MRI technician came to take me into the room and set up the machine, she seemed very careless and not very attentive. She briefly asked what kind of music I wanted, then closed the door and left. I asked how long the procedure would take, and I was told fifteen minutes. Once it started, the noise from the machine was extremely loud and suddenly caused me to develop a headache. I simply endured it for the full fifteen minutes. When it was finished and another staff member came in to open the machine and help me out, I mentioned what happened. He told me that next time I should ask for earplugs. I responded that I hope there won't be a next time soon, as this is not something I experience regularly. In my opinion, patients should be reminded in advance that the noise can be very loud and that ear protection is available. This discomfort could easily be prevented. I feel the staff need to be a bit more attentive and considerate, rather than just treating it as a routine task and moving on. Patients deserve more care and awareness.

I am a paraplegic, and there was no way for me to get from my wheelchair onto the MRI table. Fortunately, I had my caregiver with me and he was able to assist me. The MRI was so small that I could not get in without hitting my elbows. There was no instruction and it was almost unbearable. I believe this was a very antiquated MRI machine. I also had a CAT scan and a personal were far more accommodating. I've had many many MRIs, and this is by far the worst experience I've had.

I was able to use foam earplugs, and then Moses gave me headphones and an eye mask. He asked what kind of music I wanted and I said "something happy" and his selection for me was perfect. He constantly spoke to me through the headphones, letting me know what to expect, and how many more minutes, and checking on me. I arrived at around 7:10am and was out the door by 7:50am. I talked with both you (crown valley) and my insurance for weeks because this location used the wrong code for the mri. So essentially, I was approved for an mri by my insurance and crown valley input the wrong code for my insurance forcing me to lose coverage and pay a massive fee.
