We ate at the Harbor House restaurant at Wavepointe last night. The chicken we ordered wasn't done on the inside and the breading was almost burned. The roll I got had mold on it. It was a horrible experience for the four of us! read more

We came to the restaurant here for a company party. This resort is beautiful. It is tucked away in a wooded area on the shores of Sturgeon Bay. It is about 8 miles from town and the country roads can get dicey in the winter. The resort property was well maintained though. We came in the evening and the place was brightly lit and easy to find. I was impressed enough to consider a weekend stay here. read more

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and were VERY pleased with the Resort. We stayed in a Corner Atlantis Suite, which was very spacious. We were VERY pleased with all aspects of our room, including the price. This was much less expensive than the other Door County resorts and hotels. Everything was clean, in excellent condition, and all staff we encountered were friendly. We'd definitely go back. The only thing we weren't crazy about was that is was out in the middle of nowhere. It was a very peaceful setting, off the beaten path. But if you plan on going to all the Door County towns, be sure to take everything you'll need for the day out because this isn't a place you can just go back to half way through your day. Although we didn't have a boat, their marina was impressive and this would be a perfect resort for bringing your boat, then boating from town to town up the peninsula. We were very happy with our stay and would stay again!! read more

Gilmo's Bar and Bistro here is probably the only place in America that doesn't offer free refills on soda. But the resort is very accommodating to marina guests, with a pool, bar service, and showers available. read more

My husband and I decided to take a last minute trip to Door County to enjoy the end of the fall season. Because it was last minute, there was little to choose from in regards to places to stay so we decided to stay here because they did have a little availability. Everything in the room over all was pretty nice upon first glance but once we actually started using things, it was very disappointing. The coffee cups in our room appears to simply have been rinsed and not actually washed because there were lipstick stains still on the rim and coffee splatters on the side. The whirlpool tub jets appeared to have NEVER been cleaned as when you ran the jets, there were (I kid you not) BROWN bubbles. I am sooooo glad I didn't get in. The pillows in the room were flat or hard and so were all the extra ones. Then when we decided to go to bed it was VERY difficult as we were right above the bar which happened to be having a big party where we got to listen to the thumping and bass all night, both of which we were NOT pleased about. I have to say, after spending nearly $200 for ONE night, I was not impressed and would not recommend to others, especially if you have a room on the first floor... read more

Outstanding marina facilities, great pool area, Tiki bar, very nice bar and the food quality is awesome. Hot tub for all to use along with sauna! My wife and I stayed here 4 days and 3 nights in mid-September 2011. We could not have been more impressed. After looking at the resort pictures for four months leading up to the trip, I wondered if I was going to be disappointed upon arrival; however, we could not have been happier! The hospital staff was prompt and courteous and offered suggestions for our stay. Our room (Corner Atlantis Suite) was beautiful: clean, spacious, and had all the amenities that we had hoped for. The resort is outside of the Sturgeon Bay downtown area by about 10 miles...know this before booking your reservation here. It is not convenient to go from attraction to hotel, attraction to hotel. We would go into town or along the coast once per day and then return for dinner. We ate at Gilmo's Bar (at the resort) and at the Sunset Grill (located within 5 miles of resort) -- both of these were wonderful and I would highly recommend. We will definitely be returning to the Wave Point Resort in the near future. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This restaurant has potential, while it has a cool layout and is proximate to the water. I took my boat here on a whim with some friends for a late night dinner. Bad idea. Not busy, but extremely slow staff, slight attitude, and the food was "Taco Bell/bad dive bar menu" at best. Would advise against unless you drink 4 tequilas first, come via boat (so the nights not a total wash) and don't care about having a trailer-park-hot bartender tell you that only the waitress can bring you a bill so you can get the fk out of there... anyway- I'm just a bitch on Yelp! read more

BEST PLACE IN STURGEON BAY! amazing service the staff treats you so well. The bartender brought our dog treats outside and ice water as well on a hot day. Cleanest bathrooms compared to other marinas in sturgeon bay. Nice pool for the kids to swim in and a nice tiki bar. I'm writing this to tell you about my review of the Wave Pointe hotel, because I know how scary it is to stay at new hotel. I'm reviewing Wave Pointe hotel on guest services, room statues, and about hotel restaurant. Traveling to new hotels can be scary, because you never know what you are getting in to with new places to stay at. It's always an interesting thing to stay at a new hotel that you are unfamiliar with, and a scary thing. So I thought I would write to you about the guest services, room status, and the hotel restaurant. So when I went I have a gift card and I used that to make me reservations and that was a quick, easy and pain free. I called and make my reservation and told then the number on the gift card and everything was taken care of right there. Checking in I just waked in and my room was ready and I got the room keys and went to my room. Later that day we needed more towels and I just called down and they answered the phone with a friendly tone and we had our towels within two minutes of the call, which was really nice. I thought that was wonderful guest services. The room statues were nice we have a full small kitchen, clean beds and floors, and bathroom cleanliness. I was really surprised when I walked on our room and we had a small but full kitchen, which was fully stocked with plates, cups, silverware, oven, microwave, and full size fridge. The beds were so comfortable not to hard and not to soft. The sheets were all clean and pretty. All the floor and carpets were all clean. Bathroom cleanliness is very important to me and these bathrooms were spotless, no watermarks on the shower certain, the mirrors were spot and streak clean, and really just looked amazing. The last thing I was to talk to you about it the hotel restaurant. I ate the all you can eat breakfast buffet and it was amazing and so filling. They had scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, French toast, morning Danishes, cinnamon rolls, and morning fresh hot cookies, and it was all you can eat for $5.99. It was amazing! We had waiters greet us at the door and you could sit wherever you wanted, and they got our morning drinks, in a quick and timely matter. Where we choose to sit was had a breathe taking view of the sun coming over the water and the docks. Over all I would give this hotel 5 out of 5 stars, because everything was so nice and peaceful, and Door County is one of the only places I can relax when I go on vacation. I would keep driving before staying here! The room only had blinds that are broken and missing. Told staff, and they did not seem to care. There was no curtain, so you are awakened by the sun, plus at night people walking out by the docks can see in your room. The water smells extremely bad and taste the same for brushing your teeth or wanting to get a drink of water from your mini kitchen area. I had my wedding here. Ceremony, rooms, dinner, reception... everything. We LOVED the rooms, the location, the view of the bay was absolutely fabulous, the belconys. The food was good, the drinks were good, great prices. HOWEVER... the customer service sucked!! My wedding party and several guests had several complaints about the way they were treated. I'm not even going to go into detail about the different situations, but In different instances, we felt like we were not listened to, treated poorly, insulted, and the management just didn't seam to care. There were quite a few nice employees who desearve a lot of credit, but the management itself was to blame. Everything about this place was fantastic... if you don't have to deal with the management at all. We complained and didn't even get a "sorry" out of it. The place was absolutely wonderful with cheap prices, and if they weren't so rude, our whole wedding party wanted to go back at least once a year. We liked it that much. But customer service is such an important detail, that it won't be happening and they lost a lot of businiess in the future from us! I would rate the customer service a 1 and the rest of it a 5. WONDERFUL PLACE!!!!!! NEEDS NEW MANAGEMENT!! read more

As group of eight we stopped Sunday PM for supper. 5 of the 8 had a problem with their meal, truly, a comedy of errors. Coffee in a syrofoam cup, undercooked salmon, cheese burger, with nothing else, can't add onions, lettuce, or a picket. Additions evidently only allowed during lunch!?? Seasonal vegetables, "Oh, we are out of them, how about a few kernels of canned corn?" Waitress tried, but kitchen is clueless. read more
