We rented a sail boat from the Mission Valley location, and it was a bad experience. The sailboat was old and dirty, and the cleats were stripped and didn't work at all, so it caused problems. The worst thing was the customer service. The boathand (slender filipino? young guy) was rude to me, for no reason at all. We were very kind and patient, so his hostility was completely uncalled for. Then, I went in to the office to get my rewards card punched. The girl working was nice but she had no idea about the punchcard, so she went to ask another employee, who I think was the manager (young Caucasian female brown hair). This manager was extremely rude, having a power trip and interrogating me like I was doing something wrong. I didn't understand what the hassle was about, why can't they just punch it? Instead they made a big deal about it and acted put out. The condescending tone was very unacceptable. So I would not recommend this place for a boat rental.

But this is the right way to do it, esp with these frequently rented vehicles that can easily sustain minor damages if handled carelessly. The dude at the dock is also very helpful in helping you ride away from and approach the dock, the latter of which can be a little tricky. Other jetski rental services in the area have been far less clear and professional in my experience. And why deal with the choppy waves and high traffic of the Coronado area. Mission Bay's where it's at yo! And that makes this the go-to for some of the best jetskiing you can experience in SD and I'd say SoCal in general. We asked a couple of nearby businesses for help, and they clearly were not fans of this company or the constant questions about it. We still ended up having a nice day on the water, but for the price, these boats should be much better maintained. The cup holders were filthy, the floor was filthy, the seats were filthy, and the inside walls looked like something had been splattered all over them. It was really unfortunate.

The guys at the dock also make everything so fun--with jokes and just being warm and making the kids feel welcome. He taught my daughter how to tie a half-hitch and let her tie the boat up at the end and was so sweet and patient. (bring cash for a little tip if you want!) The boats themselves are so fun and so easy to drive. Mission Bay (technically sail bay) is super calm and easy to navigate. We did 90mins today but we wish we had done 3hrs. If the weather is nice it goes by really fast. Highly recommend the Duffy experience and SDEBR! Just go! Have fun! And if you're worried about operating the boat, it's super simple. So don't be intimidated. Even if you don't have a lot of experience on the water.

He makes work fun and really loves animals. My daughter and I were both impressed with his pigeon training skills. I picked up my ID on the exit and that was a fun day in the books.

It was soooo much fun cruising around the Bay. Did I mention that these are brand new 2021 jet skis? It felt super sturdy cruising on them and I didn't feel like I was gonna fall off lol. I was really worried at first about losing my personal belongings since it was my first time doing this, but there's plenty of secure storage built in. Life jackets are provided and the jet skis, itself, have great safety features so this is definitely beginner-friendly. Tip: bring sunscreen and sunglasses!
