So I decided to book a trip to big bear and back, which they offered on there website. Purchased this trip and ever time we wanted to go, Eric rescheduled. It got to the point were now we want a refund and Eric cant be reached. I spent on this excursion $1600. Wave rider needs to do the right thing and return my money I paid. My husband and I were looking for an affordable helicopter tour that was under $500 for both of us for our four year wedding anniversary. We were SO HAPPY when we found Waverider. Their tours are a great price, and our customer experience was fantastic. It was a little hard to find as its next to a skydiving place, but once our guide came out, he took us right to the helicopter. Our guide was friendly, and made us feel very comfortable. We had an amazing sunset flight over the coast. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone on the fence about if they should invest in this. YOU NEED TO DO THIS. I booked a 7:20pm Sunset Flight for my boyfriend's birthday earlier which was earlier this week. The day of my booking, I received a call saying the company needed to reschedule my flight due to mechanical issues and that they would call me back later that day after their mechanic checks out the helicopter. It has now been three days. I've tried contacting them by calling and emailing and still have not heard back from anyone. I understand mechanical issues happen but this is a serious lack of customer service and communication. No one has since reached out to refund my flight or reschedule it. All l can say is this was the best Helicopter Tour ever!! We booked a private flight with Kurt. Our tour time we booked was at 5pm. It was a 40 minute flight time and the views was spectacular! Upon arrival he took us to the Helicopter and explained the rules. He was very Informative. I almost thought that l wasn't going to enjoy the ride. First let me explain why. We had just returned from The San Diego Fair. After spending numerous hours at the fair. I got on this ride that really yanked me around. I mean literally. I started to feel nauseous and we had less than an hour for our tour. My husband was a little concerned that l wouldn't enjoy the tour and frankly so was l. Wow it was smooth and gentle the whole time. He described the area that we flew over and I can't say enough about the views. The water was breathtaking. And our tour guide told us to take as many pictures as we liked. He went into great details about the area and answered any questions we had. I would highly recommend going to their website and and pick the time that best suits your schedule. We selected from five to six pm. It was a smooth ride and a super smooth landing. I felt like a million bucks when we stepped out of that Helicopter. My stomach sickness from that fair ride immediately went away. I was so relaxed l felt a great deal of happiness from that point on l told my husband it was the best experience and to go over San Diego's beautiful area and the oceanfront view which was the best decision ever. 7/14/18 My friend and I spontaneously decided to do the 15 min Helicopter tour! It sounds short but it is more than enough to experience the breathtaking views of Oceanside and Carlsbad! When we first arrived at the location, the door was locked so we walked to the next trailer over to see if they were the right people to talk to. Turns out you call the number on the display of Waverider Helicopter Tours and the lovely Danielle will pick up the phone and let you know that she'll be there momentarily. She showed up in a golf cart and we were quickly whisked away to our pilot, Kurt's hangar. They were both very encouraging and asked us if we wanted to take pictures with the helicopter. The helicopter was comfty and the flight was so smooth! I think we were a tad worried that we were going to get motion sickness but don't let that stop you! Although I felt it ever so slightly it is to be expected! It wasn't anything enough to distract me from seeing the beautiful landscape. We were able to speak/hear each other through the provided headsets&mics. Kurt and Danielle were both sweet, caring and down to earth. Kurt was a great presenter the entire time of the flight. I had such a great experience on my very first helicopter ride! I rode with my mom on the 10 minute Surf Check flight and it was awesome. It was safe, professional and fun. Exhilarating, even! We rode straight out to the ocean and were able to see the run off from the rivers from recent rainfall. I never felt scared or unsafe. Our pilot was friendly and answered all our helicopter questions. It was such a fun, spontaneous thing to do in the afternoon; if you ever have a chance to go, even the short ride, I highly recommend taking the opportunity! This was the most amazing experience that I was able to share with my SO. I opted to purchase the 23 minute trip so I could surprise him! Not only were Kurt and Danielle in on the surprise, they both played a huge part in it by being so secretive with phone calls to make changes to the reservation and transporting us from the airport to the hanger. Once we got to the airport, (had his eyes covered) Kurt pulled his golf cart up behind our car, I helped him in and we made it to the helicopter by golf cart. If you've ever wondered what makes a grown man scream, it's a surprise of opening your eyes to a private helicopter tour with your lady! I would pay so much more to get the pure joy that came from him in that moment! The ride was comfortable, Kurt was very knowledgeable about the buildings/history of the things we passed. On our way back we even had the pleasure of seeing a grey whale! The water was so clear that we could see the entire whale, it was an experience of a lifetime and we can't wait to come back and do it again! Next time we'll opt for the vineyard/winery option. We went for a 15 minute helicopter ride down the coast of Oceanside and it was an incredible experience. The helicopter ride was very smooth but fun with amazing, birds eye panoramic views of the coastline and pier. There may not be a flag on the flag pole, FYI, and it's kinda short. Friendly down to earth service. Was an amazing experience. Loved every minute except the part where it ended. So coulda went fifteen to twenty more minutes. The view alone was remarkable. Thought trying to look at Christmas lights I'm not sure it even mattered. The price was fair.
