A TALE OF TWO SISTERS ______________________________________…read more(...And The Enchanted 'Cado Seed) ONCE UPON A TIME, in a land far far away called California... there were 2 sisters named Anne and Mary Spriggins. They were spry, poor millennials living with a dairy cow and 2 iPhones in a farm cottage. The cow's milk was their only current #side-hustle. When dairy milk lost its market appeal to Almond; Soy; Cashew; Coconut; and Cat Milk, Anne asks Mary to sell the cow at the Mercado. On the way, Mary's Uber driver named Ben (along with ride-along: Jerry) offered 3 magic beans in exchange for the dairy cow, and Mary makes the trade. When she arrives home without any money, Anne becomes angry, throws the beans to the ground, and sends Mary to bed without her iPhone. During the night, the magic beans cause a gigantic beanstalk to grow outside Mary's window. The next morning... because duh... the girls climb the beanstalk to a place high in the sky. There, they find an enormous castle and sneak in to take some selfies [#pics or it didn't happen]. But Mary was #woke to a childhood tale about a scary Giant... cannibalism... and larceny gone wrong... so they overcome their #FOMO and climb back down the beanstalk as fast as they can. When they reach the ground, they cut down all but a 3-foot length of beanstalk with an axe. The next morning, giant avocados started blossoming from the remaining stalk, and the sisters called their avocado farmer friend Jason Mraz to help them harvest. Each time they picked one, a new one would grow. They could now have Avocado toast for life! YAAAAAS. Jason explained that the beans from the Uber driver were from the Hass Mother Tree of La Habra Heights -- and all Hass avocados trace their roots back to her. Mary and Anne decided that, if people would believe them... their story needed to be told. They asked Jason to narrate. He found some #lameAF "Captain and Tennille" cassette tapes, which he gladly recorded over. Next they bought all the green paint in 3 Home Depots and got to work. A pop-up museum was born, and the rest is history. Pro tip: this immersive seed-to-toast art experience features SoCal's finest bumpy-skinned fruit. Here, you can hear Jason tell the story, visit with Hass Mother, and bring home your own enchanted 'cado seeds. But hurry... it all ends Sept. 22. After that, your #FOMO struggle is real.

From the incredible places we stayed, to the incredible people we met, both working with passion, learning about their way of living, From the sun rises to the sunsets, to the stars, twinkling in the sky and learning about the constellations, Kim did an incredible job of planning it all out. I love the independence that my friend and I had as we traveled, and yet we're taking care of every step of the way. Kim, you rock, and it was a perfect holiday with so much to see and experience. At first when I went to Africa, I thought I want to see the animals and we saw the big 5+ so much more. And then I finally got in the groove of it, and didn't just see them, but witnessed them in their natural habitat. the places we stayed were absolutely incredible. Each one had its own experience. The food was incredible at every single place we stayed. What more can I say.? Kim will take good care of you just do it. And don't forget to smell the flowers along the way.

Kim took special care in making sure our needs were met and we were taken care of every step of the way. Going to Africa can be daunting but we felt safe and like VIPs throughout our entire trip. I hope this review helps someone who is thinking about doing the tour. My mom and I enjoyed a wonderful day out touring 8 home gardens in the Encinitas area (2026). (A couple of the homes were in Carlsbad and one was in Olivenheim, the remainder were in Encinitas). I purchased the tickets on-line prior to the tour and showed the e-mail at the first house stop, where we received a color printed booklet that would be our ticket for the remainder of the tour. The booklet had a description and photo of each house, along with ads for the artists. You also have the option to pick up your booklet at the Off Track Gallery in Encinitas. The drive between some houses was a couple of minutes, and as much as about 8 minutes for others. This is where your GPS comes in handy! You can follow the order suggested in the booklet. I had studied the map before arrival and slightly adjusted the order for our convenience. Curb parking was always easy. Many of the houses featured pools. Some had art studios. One had chickens and goats. Another had some garden art and a photo opportunity. Some had views to die for. All of them featured a variety of plants, trees, flowers, succulents, cacti, shrubs, along with art vendors selling their wares and a table of finger foods. The variety of art ranged from jewelry, paintings and ceramics to mosaics, photography and fabric arts. Prices started at about $10 and went up into the hundreds and everything in between. All the talented vendors were very friendly and welcoming, although we felt bad when we walked away without buying something. We also met a couple of the house owners who were interesting to talk to. The complimentary food included fruit, crackers and cheese, cookies, cake, chips, hummus, water, lemonade and more. It was lovely to graze the food and sit for a bit and enjoy the surroundings. The home gardens were open between 10am and 4pm. We started at 10am and finished about 3:15pm. This included one house that permitted us to also see the interior, which was a pleasant surprise. We also stopped at a local grocery store to use the restroom as only one home had an available restroom for use. I highly recommend this tour if you get a chance. It's a unique way to spend Mother's Day weekend and you may see parts of San Diego that you've never seen before. It was definitely an eye opener to 'How the other half live'! You do quite a bit of walking and 'in and out of the car', so by the end you're quite tired, but my 78 year old mom did it! Be sure to wear comfy shoes and sun protection. Some areas of the gardens do offer shade, but not all. The photos attached are from the 2026 tour. I understand the homes change each year. We hope to visit the Off Track Gallery at a later date as it was closed by the time we got there after the tour, but we could see wonderful creations through the window. Helpful?
