I couldn't love this place more! I had a terrible experience at a wash and fold laundromat in Prospect Heights (168 Cleaning) where they shrank ALL of my delicates, which is the majority of my clothing. I read all of the reviews for Waverly Wu because I was nervous to let someone else touch my clothes again but everything has been perfect. I sorted my delicates, regular and dry cleaning, and they did them promptly and well. Since then, my boyfriend has also started sending his clothes there, and when he or I call, they know who we are immediately. Additionally, they are very friendly and helpful. When they pick up or deliver, they will walk up to my apartment door if I need help, and when I picked up my order at the store, they ran after me to make sure I didn't leave a sweater behind. You might be able to find a little bit cheaper, but I've found it reasonable and worth it. Go! read more

I love Waverly Wu! I used to use a different place for pick up/drop off service. While they did a very very nice job for slightly less cost, they closed early, closed Sundays, cash only. The big thing was the hours. I felt like I was always rushing home. Waverly Wu is open later, takes credit cards and open on Sundays! Everything always comes back nice and neatly folded. Life is short--why waste it at the laundromat? We have used Waverly Wu since moving to Brooklyn in September 2013. They are so friendly and so prompt. They always pick up our dirty clothes within half an hour of me calling and always drop them off within half an hour too. They will wash your clothes however you ask them too--just place more delicate things in separate bags. read more

I love this laundry service. After the first time I called they have all my info on record. I just have to call and they know where to go and who I am. And they carry the bags up three flights of stairs and smile and greet me happily when they deliver. I usually have them pick up on Saturday and take delivery on Sunday. Clothes are clean and beautifully folded. These guys are the best. I highly recommend them to everyone. I've been living in Bed Stuy for over 3 years and I've been using Waverly Wu since the day I moved here. They are amazing - in all that time, all those loads of laundry (it's been a lot of laundry over 3 years!), only 1 or 2 pieces have been lost. They have excellent customer service, and they're incredibly fast with pick up and drop off service. If they're going to take longer than 30 minutes to arrive, they always let me know in advance. They know my voice when I call in and I've actually struck up friendships with a couple of their delivery people. It's always a pleasant experience. My clothes are always impeccably folded and look and smell great. I don't have any specific detergent requests but I know they'll accommodate those. They always hang dry the clothes that I specify need to be hung up, which is such a huge help. This review is long overdue, but I highly recommend Waverly Wu. Now that I'm moving to Sunset Park, I'm pretty devastated they don't cover that area. I might actually have to start doing my own laundry. Sacrilege! ;) read more

I have lost clothes trough them but they always denied it and the service is not how it used to be in general: from a great soap they switch to a cheap brand that doesn't smell like anything fresh, from being on time, now you can end up waiting twice the estimated time for pick up and delivery, not to mention the staff answering the phone is rude and will give you the line 'if you dont like it, use another service' They unfortunatly went down big time in the last year but are still more expensive than other laundromat... read more

Been using delivery service for 3 months now and so happy! Clothes always smell great and are folded perfectly. By the pound costs us around 30% more than if we did it ourselves but saves all the time. Well worth it! Did have one small incident with a miss communication in dry cleaning and led to $60 worth of additional cleaning - just make sure you give clear directions and you won't have any problems! read more

Fellow Yelper, Andrea M., is 100% correct with her review. Until recently, WW was a reliable self-service laundry mat. Like Andrea, I also walked in and was told to read the sign on the door that stated "No Self-Service." I paid to have my laundry done. I picked my laundry up the next day and see and overhear one customer doing his laundry even though the sign was still up. I asked if I could come back later to wash laundry and I did, with that sign still up. It's true, they close and open self-service whenever they choose which makes them unreliable. I understand how frustrating this experience is as a local customer. I walk to Wash & Play now when I have to and use the wash and fold (pick up & drop off) services on Vanderbilt Ave (Prospect Heights) & one service called, Brooklyn's Famous on Atlantic now, much more friendly! P.S. My one star rating made no difference for this Laundry Mat, still at 4.5 stars. read more

The team at Waverly Wu knows me by name and address, and they are always on time for both pickup and delivery. They've come in all kinds of weather and they're always reliable. They don't complain about my laundry bag without a drawstring and they always find a way to tie it closed. They never shrink or damage or lose my clothes and they're always very nice and polite. Prices are reasonable for the area and service level and they even took a credit card when I asked them to on a day I didn't have cash (though I had enough to tip with cash- which I believe is important). The service is incredible: - impeccably clean laundry (my sheets were never so white) - ultra crisp folding that saves space without too many folds - underwear rubber-banded all together (don't need to search thru the pile time after time) - it's done when they say it will be done and usually even earlier BUT the really wonderful thing is that the entire staff is a pleasure. Even in the hot humid days of July and August, when they are losing pints of sweat per hour, everyone there puts a smile on your face when you walk in. I am so grateful to have them here. These people are awful. They clearly take and or lose your stuff on purpose. When I called to ask them to check they claimed to check the camera, but didn't see anything. I've now lost 6 items of nice workout clothing...seems odd that those pieces are the only ones gone missing. I do not recommend them, not worth the price for the most items and I will be looking into ways to get compensated for the missing items! read more

Pros: The pickup/delivery system is great. They know when I am calling and have my card on file, so everything is very easy. Cons: I've been weighing my laundry before sending it over, and they have been padding the weight that they charge me by 2-4 pounds. The folding can also be nonsensical. Sometimes they stack certain types of clothes and then just fold the entire pile in half...that is not the "folding" service I am paying (and being overcharged) for. The overcharging by padding the weight really gets to me. If they fixed that they I would rate them higher. If you want to make more money then raise your prices...don't pad the weight. read more

I've been using them for about 2 years now, and they're just great. They're pretty honest whether same day delivery is possible and I've never really had a problem with them. Sometimes it's busy. The earlier you call, the better for delivery, but they've been great as long as it is picked up before noon, however the drop can be as late as 8:30pm, so plan accordingly. They really do their best to accommodate and will tell you if it is not possible. It's reasonably priced and they keep your payment method on file. Their delivery drivers are sometimes a bit panicked about getting a ticket, but they're totally fine, except this one guy who is like the sweetest. I'm so glad that I discovered this service. We've used Waverly Wu for over 3 years for pickup/drop off wash and fold and dry cleaning. They're friendly, courteous, super quick (laundry is usually done within a day) and everything is perfect every time. They'll hang dry items if you ask (I have no reason to believe they put them through the dryer as another review stated). We live on the top floor of a walk-up, and the folks at Waverly haul our laundry all the way up and down. read more

One of the best things about moving to this neighborhood is Waverly Wu! I've been using them almost every week for the past 3 months ever since I found out the laundromat on the corner takes TWO days to return my laundry!! Love how Waverly Wu has my phone number in their system, so whenever I call, all I have to do is say... "Pick up please!"... and they're at my door in about 10 min. They're so quick, they'll even pickup and deliver (no extra charge!!) the SAME day! The delivery guys are also super nice. The laundry always comes back super fresh, colors bright, and folded perfectly. Sure, I could probably walk my butt down to the corner laundromat and do the laundry myself. But time is money, not to mention I don't have to buy detergent anymore, and for this kind of outstanding service, Waverly Wu's rates are really good. I've got my husband tricked into thinking I've warped into a wonderful new wifey. If we ever move, I don't know how I'll ever be able to do laundry myself ever again?! read more

I did my laundry here for 7 years despite the owner's seemingly nonstop antagonism (unlike him, the staff is friendly). But now, they have challenged the fundamental concept of laundromat by excluding those who wish to do their own laundry. THERE IS NO MORE SELF-SERVE.
