This is legit my favorite restaurant ever. So delicious, the bowls are the best. All ingredients are fresh and tasty. Portions are big too.

I love a good Peruvian restaurant especially the rice with ají amarillo sauce. I ordered from Sardis on Grub Hub and I was pretty satisfied with my order but there was some things. I had a quarter chicken white. It was a little dry but I figured the two sauces I picked would alleviate that. It could also be that the chicken had probably been sitting because I ordered rather late. About the sauces. The Ají did not pack the flavor or heat that I've come to expect from this chili. Not even close so that was disappointing. The green sauce which is made up of jalapeño and habernos was new to me and very different. It too was nowhere near as hot as I expected but I enjoyed it far more. I believe also that my sides were incorrect. I asked for the arroz chaufa and white rice and black beans. They gave me plain white rice and chaufa with beans. The chaufa made the meal. For that I would order from here again. read more

This is a five star spot. Yes, you will enjoy every bite. I happen to have stumbled upon this location via Ubereats, and after scrolling through the menu, I said: "let me try something"... and I am glad I did. Sardi's is an order-at-the-counter place where you place your order on the buffet line. Generally speaking, the rotisserie chicken dishes are prepared in front of you where you can walk out with them, and all the other entrees are made in the kitchen in the back. We generally stick to the rotisserie chicken and it's always flavorful, moist, and well cooked. The only downer for us are the sauces -- a lot of the more authentic sauces seem to be mayo heavy and doesn't hit the same mark as say a sauce from Nando's Peri Peri. But still, Sardi's incredible and we're glad to have them in the area. I looooove this place. Every time I'm in Philly, I make sure to stop by this place--it never disappoints. The rotisserie chicken (Peruvian pollo asado) is insanely good: super flavorful, juicy, and always hits the spot. It usually comes with a couple of sides, and I've got a few favorites: the yuca frita and the sweet plantains are sweet and perfectly soft. I also really like the chaufa rice and fries--they're simple but really well done. Oh, and the lamb chops? Unreal. Super tender and full of flavor. Changing to 3 stars because tonight was a service mess compounded by the manager named Crody. Raised my blood pressure. i get a confirmation from their website. then i get a delivery tracker from chownow. Then someone elses order shows up at my house 30 min early. i call sardis - after MUCH effort young lady says "my mgr says you can drive here for a replacement or we'll refund your dinner." I take the refund because my wrist is broken and i cant drive. An hour later i get an $8 refund from chownow so i call back. I get transferred 3 x's finally to Crody who starts the conversation with "you got most of your order so it doesn't make sense to me to refund the whole thing." when I remind him of the offer his employee offered an hour earlier, his story switches then he gaslights and starts blaming me. Eventually he establishes an eerily calm voice and says "I offered you the full refund why are you upset." at this point I believe I acknowledged his sociopathy, told him i was hanging up and would be looking for my full refund. Wild all this on a day i decide to post 5 star reviews here and on yelp. Restaurant owners - these delivery apps arent helping you. it turns out that not only was my order not delivered by Chownow (even tho the app sent me a tracker - i don't use chownow) turns out it was Uber Eats delivering - nowhere is that indicated. So now im on the hunt for anther peruvian chicken place b/c who needs this grief? I know I dont. Congrats Crody! Oh my God. My son went here on Tuesday 7-7-26 and purchased chicken and rice. When he got to work (in South Philly) and opened the container, he found 5 flies in the chicken and rice. This is unacceptable!! He needs a refund!! He will never, ever, ever be returning to this restaurant. Good tasty food without spending very much $$$. They run a tight ship at this place. Everything from ordering, to drinks, cleaning ... So in my opinion, everything was cooked nicely. Marinade made a lot of the meats taste similar. But I can see myself getting take out from them on a regular basis if one happens to be near. The sides were all great. read more

A surprise hit! We are in the area at least once a month visiting a friend's elderly mother and we decided to take a chance and order food from Sardi's. Two of us got the chicken and we ordered her mom the lamb chops. She absolutely loved the lamb chops. Finished every bit of meat off the bones. Said they were seasoned perfectly. As for my meal, I thought the portions were huge and I was grateful to have leftovers! The chicken was juicy and delicious. Among us we had rice and beans, the arroz chaufa, mashed potatoes, brussels & carrots, and garlic broccoli. The sides were equally as tasty as the mains. We ordered for pickup and the food was ready on time and the staff at the register was cheerful and helpful. I went in for rotisserie chicken and I was pleasantly pleased with the food and the service. At 8 o'clock at night on a Sunday they were extremely busy. But even with that I was able to get through and check out in a reasonable amount of time. I gave it three stars because it was incredibly salty. I got fried rice, broccoli, & plaintains. I am not salt sensitive, actually I have an issue that I use too much salt, lol. I put salt on pepperoni pizza, so people watching me use salt are always clutching their pearls. Came here for a quick bite of dinner with my dad. I think it's a Brazilian 'fast food' restaurant, but I'm not sure based on the selection. We stood for a while in line even though we were the only people ordering. The menu was difficult to order from based on some of the a la cart options. The food took a long time to prepare. Plantains were sweet, and pupusas and empanadas tasted fine. The kitchen/serving area floor was not the cleanest, but to be fair, there was no food being made right in that area. read more

What a delicious Peruvian spot to grab a bite or meal to eat later. The ambience was okay, but the food was so good. My fav was the chicken fried rice. It was so flavorful, I had to order one to go. Everything was great, and if you're really hungry this is the place to go. Everything we ordered was cooked beautifully, and the side orders are HUGE and perfectly prepared. Low key and delicious roast chicken. Reminds me of jerk chicken with a Peruvian twist on the seasoning, but all the smoky roast goodness and juicy texture. The sides were solid as well, I would recommend trying the beans over rice (either white rice or "chaufa" fried rice). We will be back! read more

This was my first time trying the food at this restaurant. And let me tell you, their food is made fresh, looks good, tastes delicious, and smells amazing. It's a little pricey, but what's isn't. They even have yummy dessert. You can dine in or take out. I ordered the lunch special, $17.99 that includes half of Rotisserie Chicken, two sides, and a Fountain Soda. This is what I had. The chicken was juicy and lots of flavor, Chicken Fried Rice, Brussel Sprouts, and Black Beans over the rice at no charge. And my Fountain Lemonade. They put so much food on my platter that I shared with Louis. The staff was helpful with the food choices, and they even gave you a sample of the food. This place is usually crowded but when I went it was after work. The nice sound of the music while you eat. I grew up in Paterson, New Jersey with the best Spanish food all around me. I moved to the Roxborough section of Philly and found this gem only 13 minutes away from me. The chicken was really small and dry and greasy Not a lot of flavor either The sauces are all prepacked shelf stable sauces like those cafeteria dressings, and they're all kinda gloopy and mayo based - completely surprising. I thought they'd be vinegary and spicy. No freshness to give you some reprieve from the grease of the dry chicken. None of it had a high of spice whatsoever - the spicy ones exactly the same as the mild. The only redeeming food was the yucca. Tapioca fries super crispy so as expected it stayed crispy for a long time. Actually not bad with the mayo sauces. Everything else was bland like the chicken and over priced. My cousin recently mentioned Sardi's as a place to try for lunch sometime, so when the opportunity came I jumped at it. Parking was tough, but found on the side of the building. The inside was nice, clean and busy. First impression was an upscale fast food experience. After reviewing the menu you order, then walk along and add your side orders. While walking along you get a great view of the rotisserie oven turning around the chicken. By it's side is a small stack of wood. I noticed an employee at one point adding wood to the fire. There were employees everywhere and they were very helpful and professional. My cousin and I sat in a booth, chatted while we ate and watched some soccer highlights on the TV's above the booths. I ordered a half chicken with a side of broccoli and plantains. The sides were fresh and just fine. You are allowed two side sauces, I went with their house Salsa Verde and Salsa Roja. They both were nice portions. The verde had way more kick than the roja. The chicken itself was fresh, easy to eat off the bone and was a more than fair portion. I would have loved more wood flavor, but there was a fair amount. The skin was soft and easy to mix in and eat with the meat. I was stuffed and although the meal was a little pricey, I thought it was a great value. I would definitely repeat if I was in the area. This is a tasty delicious concept. read more

Love their chicken and the sides are pretty amazing too! I believe Sardi's is a step up from fast food but probably just below the fast causal range when it comes to dining. You'll walk in to the counter where you'll select what you'll be having (protein first), then spin around a bit to select sides. If you're flying solo, I recommend the quarter chicken. If you're with someone else, maybe a half (or a whole if you'd like some leftovers). As for sides, they seem to rotate on occasions. I like the cooked kale w/veggies, the brussels, and of course the fried plantains. You can also swap a side for a small salad if you'd like to stay healthier. Finally, you get to pick your dipping sauces. You'll get 6 with a whole chicken (2 with a quarter). Go green! I also don't mind the yellow, but I seem to be constantly dipping in green. You get great portions for the price and I've never been disappointed in the quality. I'm usually in a hurry when I'm picking up so I always order ahead online and I don't have to wait. The store is not pleasant to eat in since it's always busy and a ton of people are standing waiting to order or pick up. They don't have any dine-in ambiance. Went to this place that serves rotisserie chicken and meats on charcoal. We ordered the chicken which was tasty and the carne asada. Our favorite was the lamb chops which was excellent. I tried the Inca cola for the first time and it was tasty too. The place is a bell yourself and order at the counter. They have tables and chairs and booths if you want to eat it there but in Togo containers. They do take credit cards. I would definitely be back. read more

Over the weekend, my husband and I got some takeout from Sardi's for the first time. At first I did not have high expectations for the food, even after reading so many positive Yelp reviews. We've had Peruvian chicken many times before in other cities and even though I still don't know how an actual Peruvian chicken should taste, the good ones we've had were always nicely roasted, moist, and comes with the tastiest green and yellow sauces. The one time we had Peruvian chicken in Philly was at Chalaco's (now closed) and it was not good at all. From then on, I was turned off from Peruvian chicken made in Philly. Even though Sardi's is a chain restaurant, it definitely did not feel like one. Not only is the food delicious, everything about this place says "quality". You can tell the food here is made with love. Their takeout packaging is not the cheap flimsy stuff and they carefully pack away everything for you. For our dinner, we ordered a whole chicken, and sides of Brussel sprouts, fried plantains, fried yucca, and arroz chaufa. It was such a wholesome meal. The chicken was perfect. The Brussel sprouts were caramelized just enough, tender and not mushy. The fried yucca was roughly cut and in different sizes, but that didn't bother us. It was especially good when dipped in the green sauce. The arroz chaufa was like hibachi fried rice, and had big chunks of scrambled eggs in it. It had to be cooked with chicken fat or chicken broth, whatever it is, it was amazing. We didn't really like the fried plantains, but then I also don't like my fruits cooked. Like many yelpers, I have to say the green sauce is the ultimate sauce to get. The yellow sauce is good too but not as good as the green sauce. The mumbo sauce tastes like sweet Cholula and the white sauce tastes like mayo. read more

We love Peruvian Food and don't get it in Pittsburgh. We were happy to see there was a place where we were traveling. Unfortunately, our experience didn't match the other reviews. We were able to order pretty quickly. Unfortunately, it took forever to get the food and there was almost no one in the restaurant. They had some people come in for takeout but not a crazy amount of people. They had a lot of people working there but most people were standing around and not really doing anything which made it even more frustrating. My husband had to ask if they forgot about us because it took so long (like 20-30 minutes). They said no. It took time to cook the steak for my lomo saltado. How long could it be? We cool it at home and it doesn't take that long. Thankfully, my lomo saltado (steak and rice wirh french fries) was very good and worth the wait. I loved it. I also loved my drink. They had morada in plastic bottles that was so good. Unfortunately , my husband didn't care for his rotisserie chicken (too dry), white rice or Maduros (sweet plantains). He thought all of it didn't have much flavor. We also felt the staff wasn't super friendly which is uncharacteristic of Latin Americans who are always salt of the Earth people. read more
