Store arrangement has convenience on one side and food order/prep on the other so no confusion and holdups. Location is right at Hwy 19 so very busy. Luckily there is plenty of parking. WOW, has Wawa really overextended their menu. Add that to being short staffed & orders messed up, take way too long & people run out of patience. I ordered their fries, to see if they were worth it & a cold sub. After ordering it was over an hour before my order was ready. Then all staff swamped & could not get my paid for bagged food for 10 minutes This is not the staffs fault, they are so slammed & only 1 person out front, I really felt sorry for them...everyone yelling for their order & only so much someone can do. I was hoping they would have decent fries, what I got was inedible. Greasy, cold limp fries. Not what you are looking for with fries. The cold sub was toasted & had no mustard or salt & pepper. I have had this sandwich numerous times, but this time it was crappy. Best thing I can say is it was wrapped great, nice & tight. If you have too much on your menu & no one to properly fulfill the order, what chance to us customers have at getting what we ordered, how we ordered it & in a timely fashion....none! Questionable if I will be back, it is so close & I loved their subs & shakes. Now....they have a lot to fix & many staff to train. The staff working through these tough times, should get extra money, for doing 2 people's jobs & dealing with angry customers ... hazard pay. What's a girl to do? I really enjoy stopping at the newest addition to Gas Station/Convenience stores in the area. Wawa's are always clean, well lit and fully stocked. They've got some of the neatest options for snacking. I picked up pepperoni/cheese/crackers for under $3.00 from their cold case. Though sometimes the items in the cold case can be expensive! 4 strawberries, with a tablespoon of chocolate chips and a dollop of whipped cream? Over $4.00. (It was still tasty though!) After working around 11pm we stopped on our way home for some food at Wawa. I love Wawa and I was really looking forward eating what I always order, Breaded Buffalo Chicken Sandwich(s) and a fresh pretzel. First, they didn't have an pretzels but since it was so late I kinda expected them to be out until the next day. Then I customized each sandwich and ordered Sriracha as well as the buffalo sauce and when I received it there was barely any sauce at all. I purchased one for myself and one for my hubby. There's is a little, and I mean little amount of sauce on either. The sandwich is very dry and my boyfriend's didn't even have tomatoes like I ordered. Not very happy about this Wawa. So Wawa has been on the scene here in the Tampa area for several months now, and everyone has been ranting and raving about them. Folks have piled up at various locations for opening day and stood in crazy long lines. All in the name of their sandwiches. So because of Wawa fever, I decided to check them out this weekend. Based on my observations, Wawa is just another gas station. The only difference was their fresh, made-to-order sandwiches and the fact that they carry Herr's potato chips (a PA thing). After walking around, I went up to the order screen and summoned an Italian sub with provolone, light mayo, lettuce and tomatoes. The kiosk ordering system for the sandwiches is simply ingenious. Other sandwich shops like Subway and the deli in Publix should take notice. The process is much more fluid and eliminates the inconvenience standing behind someone who is hem-hawing around, staring at the toppings, trying to decide what they want. The sandwich itself was visually appealing (see Gigi's pic), but was just OK in regards to taste. The bread was a little old and crunchy on one end too, which was slightly annoying. The sandwich actually reminded me a lot of Blimpie's rendition of the Italian, the Blimpie Best. On my Italian sammich scale, I give it a 3/5 stars. So basically, if I were near a Wawa and wanted a sub, I'd order one, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get there. The coffee selection was nice, so maybe it's a better place to hit up in the morning on the way to work? As for the conditions of the store--clean and orderly, and the staff was friendly as well! read more

You walk in trying to avoid eye contact with the kid behind the counter, because you both know you are about to conduct an order entirely from a touch screen. You order a sammich from a computer screen, and out comes the sammich you just ordered. Ta-da! Who can mess that up?? Why is everyone so impressed by such a fast, humanless, errorless transaction? A real treat when we visit Florida is this newest addition to the gas and quick food scene. With a name as weird as WAWA, I figure they have to be good. Haven't tried anything yet but breakfast items as far as their food goes, but I really like their croissant, ham, egg and swiss combination which is a a nice, quick tasty breakfast on the go. Gas fill-up is always fast and efficient with ample window cleaning supplies which come in handy with all the bugs you are likely to encounter on your windshield in Florida. What we discovered on our last trip was a remarkable and FREE air machine which is available on the side with a dedicated parking spot beside it. What is remarkable about this wonderful machine is that you enter your desired pressure and then just apply the nozzle to your tire- a buzzer sounds when it reaches the target reading. No gauge or stop and go attempts to hit just the right setting. A more idiot proof machine could not be invented. In addition, nothing is more annoying than a coin operated air machine and the need to have a gauge to use with it. They've got my eternal loyalty for nothing more than free air. read more

Super strange to be rating a gas station but honestly, Wawa is MORE than a gas station. My boyfriend and I are from the north so we were happy to hear about Wawa opening up in Florida. We were on our way to meet some of our friends and had some spare time to kill. The gas was only $3.26 here and I wanted some coffee. We came over from Tampa so it was definitely lower than what we were seeing. My boyfriend got some gas while I bee-lined for the store. The walk-in beer cooler was super cool. The store was clean, organized and large. I didn't get food this time but noticed a small crowd getting ready to place their orders. I got a large (32 oz) iced coffee to share with my boyfriend. The price before taxes was $2.99 and it was gargantuan. It was a little sweet for me and I wish they had iced unsweetened coffee but the price can't be beat. The staff was friendly. Don't even think about ordering the cuban sandwichl. It doesn't look like, or taste like a cuban sandwich. They have no Cuban press. No cuban bread. No sliced pork. They used shredded pork that comes out of a container of liquid, which they don't drain, so you get a sloppy dripping falling apart sandwich. What were they thinking? Not just a gas station! I love Wawa for their friendly service and amazing food. I really like ordering through the touchscreens because it makes error basically impossible. The food always tastes fresh and it is usually fast. I usually come here for coffee. Their coffee is amazing, and sometimes (like now) its on sale for 79 cents, any size!!! They also have a huge array of specialty drinks, just like Starbucks! If you decide to get gas here, its usually cheaper than others, and there aren't any intrusive screens or annoying commentary loops while you're filling up. I hate it when gas stations constantly advertise to you when you're waiting for you car to fill up. Overall, super friendly staff, awesome food and cheap gas. What's not to love!? read more

Fast food at its finest. I had to get gas and had my granddaughter with me. She was hungry, so what does every kid want to eat? macaroni and cheese. I zipped in from gas and then got her some macaroni and cheese and fresh apples and a bottle of water for myself and chicken quesadilla. The food was easy to order from the touch pad, it came up hot and freshly made. The chicken in my quesadilla was more than I'd get at taco bell or chili's. The true test was with my granddaughter. Like most in Florida I was skeptical when Northerners started getting excited about a Gas Station/Convenience Store opening in Florida..what could possibly differentiate them from Racetrack...BP..Circle K..etc..? well I finally stopped at one and I gotta say I was impressed...outside they have modern high tech gas pumps with the cheapest prices in The Bay Area..good start but I still did not hear angels sing.....but then I walked inside and I think Fleetwood Mac's Gypsy started singing to me...wow..was this a convenience store or a food court at TIA?....huge and clean inside..I was walking around like I was 7 again on Christmas Morning checking out all the toys Santa brought..I am sure I am forgetting a few things..but I saw a bakery area with bagels..donuts..cakes...a coffee bar..a made to order area where you can order sandwiches...chicken fingers..wings..etc on a computer touch screen..an area with prepared sandwiches..massive fountain soda machine with a ton of choices..walk in beer cooler..cooler with sodas..water..tea.'s..etc..and aisles of candy..nuts..and chips..then a ton of registers to check out in staffed by friendly employees..definitely not the treatment I expect at a convenience store...oh yeah on the way out a Doorperson said thanks for coming..I almost gave her a tip thinking I was walking out the front door of The Mirage..I think I am going to start driving 4 hours each way just to fill up here!!:) read more

This WaWa location is conveniently located on US 19. Obviously it's immaculate as it just opened; but it is truly nice inside. WaWa has so much to offer-- way more than your run of the mill gas station. The gas prices are incredible (far less than competitor's prices) and the food selection is vast. You have the potential to grab something healthy and fresh to eat when you stop in at WaWa and their prices are really reasonable. In addition, the prices on cigarettes are lower than the gas stations and other stores around. To top it off, the employees at this location are extremely professional and courteous. read more
