I was so wrapped up in explaining this to very patient counterlady McKenzie (I believe) that I forgot to ask for lettuce and tomato. When it arrived at the table--brought singly out by Fernando (I believe)--I realized that I hadn't asked for the lettuce or tomato and I mumbled that to myself. But, I did not ask outright! Lo and behold, not a minute later Fernando appears with a plate of lettuce and tomato. How terrifically caring is that!?!?! And my burger was perfectly cooked and I did not have a bad reaction which means McKenzie got all the instructions exactly right and the chefs did exactly right, too! I thank all the staff very much! My family who was with me enjoyed all their selections, including fries and onion rings. My grandson's milkshake disappeared quickly. (You can get alcohol there, too.) I washed it all down with a cookie and cream shake. Our first time at Burger barn. The interior had a old country feel. The menu was a sight for sore eyes. It was big, bold and right in your face. The location is only about 1/2 the distance that I'd been traveling to eat at CSC! This location even has a drive-thru! This day's order was taken by someone learning the register, which is fine with me! She was picking it up very well and our order was delivered flawlessly! The restaurant cooler at the register is almost always fully stocked, which it was this day, as well! All areas were clean & fresh smelling! The soda fountain was cleaned and fully stocked, as well. The interior restaurant is quaint and the decor is fashionable. This location would be great for small parties/office meetings! I can't wait for my next scoop of sassy Scotty and/or grape salad! I explained that I don't live in the area but visit once a month, and he agreed to write my name down. When I returned to get my refund, less than a month later, they refused to give it to me. The girl manager told me that the manager hadn't written my name down, so they had lied to me. This was my first and last time trying them out. I would not recommend them at all.

My go-to order always includes the drumsticks. I really like them because they are on the smaller side. They are super crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I love the spicy and soy garlic equally so I always order half and half. My favorite sides are the pickled radish and the seasoned French fries. The pickled radish are bite-sized cubes, vinegary and refreshing. Perfect compliment to the Korean fried chicken. The French fries are perfectly crispy then tossed in herbs, Parmesan cheese and parley - so yummy! I can't wait until our next visit to Bonchon!

Enter PDQ. The Digs: Stand alone brick and mortar in upscale St. Johns County. I've eaten there on numerous occasions, and no matter what time of day I arrive, the expansive dining room is virtually spotless. The enticing aroma of fresh Chicken and crisp Waffle Fries being made to order will lead you to the counter with a sense of urgency. There's two Coca-cola Freestyle machines to ensure that no one dies of thirst. An abundance of tables and booths are situated to entertain a crowd, if needed. The Noms: Don't get me wrong, there's more to PDQ than just the Tendies (salads, milkshakes, etc.), however, my go-to order is the 4-piece meal with Waffle Fries and Toast. Up until my very first visit, I had NO IDEA how one thick, buttery, toasty piece of bread could be SO essential to this meal. If they ran out of toast I'd walk out and come back the next day, that's how dependant I am on this bread. The Tendies are fried to perfection, and elevated by my 2 dipping sauces of choice, Ranch and Honey Mustard. There's an assortment of sauces to suit anyone's taste, but those two are my besties, and I'm an unapologetic Ranch snob. The Waffle Fries are coming at you fresh out of the fryer, so you might want to wait a minute before you dig in, speaking from experience. The food is where The Great Greek really shines. We started with the four dip combo, and honestly, that alone is worth the visit. The hummus was smooth, creamy, and full of flavor without being heavy. The tirokafteri had a bold kick that built just enough heat to keep things interesting. Paired with plenty of warm, soft pita, it is an easy dish to share and one we would happily order every time. For our main dishes, I ordered the gyro, which I often use as a benchmark when trying a Greek restaurant. The meat was flavorful, the pita was fresh, and the tzatziki sauce really stood out, tying everything together beautifully. The feta fries were another highlight and were hard to stop eating. Susan ordered the Atlantic salmon, and it ended up being the biggest surprise of the meal. It was cooked perfectly, well seasoned, and paired with sides that complemented the fish rather than overpowering it.
