Impressions of Island Fin - easy to park, easy to order, clean with helpful pleasant staff. The staff helped my friend and I to decided after we asked a ton of questions. We both had the spicy tuna poke bowl with two differences. I had a mix of lettuce and brown rice as my base and added picked ginger. She only had brown rice and no ginger. My friend commented that it was too much rice and liked mine better. When I told her to taste mine with the ginger she immediately asked for some ginger to be added to hers. The workers were happy to add it and didn't charge her. I really liked my bowl however, it definitely had way too much sauce. Next time I'll ask for less. There was a sign that said they have Dole Whip and it's 1/2 priced after 3. My friend had never had it and the counter worker was more than happy to give us a taste. It was nice and refreshing. First time in and the experience, food and service could not have been more perfect. The two staff members explained everything to us along the way and we had a very enjoyable lunch. They even surprised us with a small sample of the Dole Whip after we finished our meal. Way overcharged - I came to order the veggie poke bowl and the girl working said they do not have a veggie poke bowl. So I asked for the items /toppings that I had originally got last time on DoorDash app. She charged me $17.00! The app showed a veggie bowl was 30% off and came to $9.00. I called to ask why the large price difference and she said she didn't know and that she just started working there. I understand mistakes happen I just wish there was better communication. I decided to give Island Fin Poke a whirl yesterday because I was hungry and could order ahead. I went onto their website and ordered their Korean Barbeque Bowl with white rice, tagarushi, kimchi, scallions, corn no sweet onion, Pickled veggies on the side, and an extra side of tagarushi and a side of ponzu. Based on the photos online, their bowls looked pretty substantial, so I was excited to try it. I decided to order pickup, but placed my order online. In less then the 10 minutes it took to get there, the bowl was ready and I was handed my order. I broke a real rule when you order pickup: check your oder. When I got home, opened the bag and pulled out my bowl, I noticed that it looked like there were 5 pieces of chicken, no corn, and just white rice, and I had a cup of the veggies on the side, as for the kimchi, corn, tagarushi, scallions, they were nowhere to be found. This is a sad face moment. I didn't have the option of heading back up there to exchange my order, so I ate it anyway. First the good, the flavors were good. The chicken tasted sweet and savory, the rice was sticky, so two thumbs up on that. I was sad that the other items weren't in the bowl and for $11, I expected more. I will chalk it up to just opening, since I don't even think they've been open a month, and they may be getting their feet wet. The next time I stop by, I'll be sure to check my order carefully. read more

Really loved this poke bowl! I found this hot and new business on Yelp, and stopped in on their 4th day of being open. I was so impressed by how knowledgeable and friendly the staff was! This brand new building is right next to Burger Fi and has a large parking lot. It is located in the Beachwalk community on 210. Love seeing so many great things going in this new area! I got in line and looked at the menu. I decided to go with a build your own bowl which basically had unlimited toppings for only $14. My usual order at a nearby spot in Jacksonville is usually about $18. I chose half brown rice and half lettuce. The woman working asked if I wanted seasoning on my rice. Nice touch! I love when they include the furikake on a chirashi bowl. I ordered half salmon and half tuna, and was impressed that they have octopus as an option. I added a bunch of veggies and went with the other employees sauce recommendation. I liked that they had spicy and regular pickled veggies as an option. I also liked seeing pineapple, mango, and mixed pineapple mango salsa as an option. I eat poke bowls often and still had a couple questions, so I imagine they are super prepared to explain this menu item to people that have never tried one before. They also had specialty bowls on the menu that were really reasonably priced. I sat near the window and enjoyed my bowl. There is not a whole lot of seating in the small space, but there were enough seats for everyone on my visit. They brought around samples of the dole whip for people to try, and it was delicious. Tried island fin last night, place is fantastic. Chose the build your own bowl option, and loved the amount of options/choices you have when doing so. You get three scoops of protein (I went double protein), plus your choice of base, and then a ton of options for toppings (most of which are included). There are a few add-ons that cost extra (like avocado), but that's pretty standard. The 2 girls working were very nice, a bit inexperienced, but didn't take away from the place at all. Met Seth, not sure if he's the manager or owner, but he was super friendly and explained everything. If you like poke, you'll love this place. The past visit we ate inside and the owner gave us small dole whip samples too that were delicious and refreshing. Everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful plus you can't beat these prices. My spicy tuna bowl was only $11. Service was top notch. The management/owner was so friendly. We also sampled the dole whip soft serve and this stuff is better than Disney's (we are avid Disney park attendees). There's nothing I can say to improve upon.
